Unlike western culture where it's post all your crap, you're a special snowflake so people will like it even if it's not perfect!! I've also noticed western tutorials are made by newbies, while Japanese tutorials are made by the experienced.

When I tested the Daiso UV resin I set it outside in the sun and it was probably cured in 10 minutes or less since it was a pretty thin layer. The packaging says 5-30 depending on how strong the sunlight is.

Quality is also culture related. If you've ever been to Japan, you can easily tell quality over quantity is engrained in their culture. They are very much image based and this is evidenced by everyone having an iphone (because quality=price right?). This is also seen in their secondhand market, items must be in pristine condition. Using cheap quality materials looks cheap, and no one wants that.
Needless to say, it isn't so in the West, especially America imo.

It's all variations on 'Maek a totez cool bag from a used pillowcase and this dog-chewed slipper I found in the dump!!! Glue shit onto bottlecaps to decorate it l8tr so you fit in with all the kool kidz!!1!'. Japanese ones, at least the ones I've seen scans of online/own, seem to be more focused on explaining how to make somewhat functional cute shit.

And no, I don't think Japan is perfect and superior, I've just seen one too many published books that told people to use hot glue or safety pins instead of sewing, and that insist that not sealing rusty 'finds' like old spoons and your local druggie's discarded needles is fine, since it helps maintain the boho vintage shabby chic aesthetique of your upcycled statement necklace.

I just bought a set of wands through ali. They came in less then a week. Though I didn't get the default CCS wand since the shop didn't have it. Decided to try them out with standard casting resin. I'll have to try UV resin in layers to do different colors.

I'm waiting for some other orders to come in. Cameo, frames, wings, and some other stuff.

Anyway....

For those curious about the UV resin from daiso that's suppose to have glitter in it. I opened up a tube and either it had no glitter, it's some super tiny glitter, or the glitter is stuck to the bottom of the tube because I emptied out an entire tube and didn't see any noticable glitter.

So I think if there IS any glitter, it's a minuscule amount.

Anybody have this happen with UV resin? I noticed I kept getting a pocket of air in this mold. I thought maybe I made the first two, too opaque so I just tried plain clear resin. But it still does it even if I get rid of bubbles. Maybe it's just the volume of uv resin at once since I did a single pour. I plan to do thinner layers on the next one to see if that fixes the problem.
