Are payment plans really that common? Maybe I'm just odd, but I absolutely detest the thought of buying something I cannot immediately pay for.

If I cannot afford it reasonably, I wait and hold it off until I can. The second I find out I won an auction or anything, I pay for it immediately.

I always do payment plans or holds even though I can afford it most of the times.
The reason behind this: my customs office wants to see the paypal invoice, they do not care what I tell them or what the sellers marks down. If I can show them a $200 invoice instead of a $400 I save a lot on custom fees.
If I use a shopping service I usually show them the shipping invoice. They never question it, I saved the money for a whole brand dress over the course of 2 years.

I would do it for example at the end of the month, when I already spent my budget for Lolita, but see an item for sell that is on my immediate wishlist and I know I can afford it the next week when my salary comes. I will just ask for a payment plan because I know i can affor dit in a week but I'd like to make sure no one else buys it.

>The second I find out I won an auction or anything, I pay for it immediately.
I would never do that for an auction unless you discuss this with the seller *before* you place a bid.

>>8637093
Haha same here. Unfortunately i only learned about this after I payed a brand dress worth of customs in the last 2 years. never again. I usually asked for two part invoices though, most sellers are okay with this once you explain the situation and agree to pay the PP fee for the double invoice.

This seems like a good place to ask.

I've got a buyer who did put a non-refundable deposit on a dress, with a longer layaway time (months). I've bought from them before and they seemed reliable. However, it's been a couple of months and they haven't paid the rest. We're still in contact and I didn't specify specific payments each month, so technically nothing's really wrong.

I think my dilemma is whether I should and how often I should try to remind her about it -- I've only sent one email to ask how things are going and she's asked for extra photos. Since the deposit was non refundable and I'm not in need of money I don't really care much whether she ends up making the final payment or if she forfeits the deposit, but I do feel a little guilty if I keep mum and she forgets about it.

If anyone else has been in a similar situation I'd love to hear your stories and how they turned out as well.

If she doesn't respond in a week or 10 days, send a reminder or final reminder saying you've sent her an invoice and if she is unable to part within a certain amount of time, you'll consider it as her forfeiting the item and you'll unfortunately have to relist.

We did, that's why I said I don't mind either way if she took the entire time and paid one lump sum at the end.

After two months though, I started wondering if she'd maybe forgotten, I'd feel like shit if I waited until four months are up and then dropped the ultimatum on her, only to realise it'd somehow slipped her mind. Though surely nobody forgets that they paid $50 on a $500 dress, ....do they?

Like, a $500 dress is probably something really rare or popular and as a buyer I'd be looking forward to it and would want to get it asap.
As a seller I'd be vary of a buyer who needs 4 fucking months to pay off an expensive and rare dress.

Is there not a replica sales group on facebook?

I know people are going to whine that this facilitates/encourages replicas but plenty of sales groups/sites don't want them on there for good reason, but then a lot of people who don't want anything to do with them anymore aren't sure where else to sell them. At the same time if there was a sales group I feel like it would clear out places like plus size lolita sales. I'm a fatty chan but it's really annoying going to that sales group when I try to see if anyone is selling something good, but it's all freaking replicas. Banishing replica sales to just one specific sales group for that purpose sounds like a viable option. I know ebay or cosplay groups is where people usually recommend to dump stuff they don't like (replicas or ita shit) but yeah.

Idk what to do in this situation /cgl/. I sold a set to a girl in my comm on a really shitty payment plan ($60 a week over 6 weeks) because she's young and new to the fashion, but now she's messaging me saying she needs to put the payment plan on hold for two weeks because she's having mental health issues and is taking a 2 week break from her job to recover. How much has she paid already?

Scenario 1: Your intel is correct. Chick just blew money owed to you and is a sleeze. You can call her out and possibly not sell the set.

Scenario numero duos: Your intel is fucked for one reason or another and chick will pay you in 2 weeks. You're rid of the set, have dosh in your pocket, and did a solid for a newcomer.

Now. If she hasn't paid you a penny but just wants you to hold on to it, forget that shit. Proceed to try selling it elsewhere.

But. Let's say we're on week 4 and she only owes you 120 left on it. Give it 2 weeks. Any longer then proceed to sell it elsewhere.

This girl bumped her sales post after my friend messaged her saying she wanted to buy it and asked for a shipping quote (she didn't respond, she just bumped it.)

One newbie in our comm bought a brand new Milky Cross JSK then wore it to the con. Then 2 weeks later she tried selling it as NWT. It actually even still had a tag, which only made it more pathetic.

Of course it quickly received "wtf? but I saw you wear it" response to which she reacted by immediately rage-quitting the comm and badmouthing it on her personal FB. The girl actually even got the dress dirty and got help from other lolitas at the con, but still insisted she only left because of personal vendettas and bullying in the comm. Because apparently in her mind telling someone they could improve their coord is far worse (and harassment of course) than trying to push an unwashed dress as brand new for above retail price...
