Here's my small order that I have bought directly through taobao and using one of their forwarding agents to Australia (4px). Just paid for the international postage. The process up till this point has been pretty smooth so hopefully I get everything in one piece soon. But seeing as it's my first time with this method I only made a small order in case things go south. Messaged a couple of the sellers regarding lenses for the glasses in English and they were actually very helpful. Have bought heaps of glasses before but only through a SS so here's hoping my rx is right.

China obviously has the largest Lolita market out of any one country right now. I wonder if a Taobao store is the best way to capitalize on that, as opposed to just having an English storefront?

Just my two cents, but imo unless you're going to be producing your dresses in large amounts, taobao sounds like more effort than it's worth.

woo congrats on taking the plunge fellow aussie! I've ordered and used 4px with a large order and it went quite smoothly so don't worry! My package arrived in two parts (I broke my order into two) quite quickly (about a week) with what appears was Toll mail, there was a day where I wasn't at home and couldn't collect it, so they redelivered it the next day.

Made a smallish order now and currently waiting for it.

About the glasses, are they actual prescription? I've seen a few cute glasses floating around, but always scared that they'll mess up my eyes.

I order 1.67 index prescription lenses for the glasses. I would say for single vision lenses it's okay. I've gone to optoms before and when they check my glasses they haven't said anything so I feel it's fine. Really can't beat the price and the variety! Need a little advice, or maybe tell me your story if you've preordered from an unknown brand before. I love this dress, but the brand is so new it doesn't even have a taobao, someone reposted this pic off weibo. If I get in on the preorder, am I kissing my money goodbye if they don't deliver the dress? I thought I saw somewhere that taobao hangs on to the money, or maybe that was Alipay, so at worst I could ask for refund, is that right? I'm not keen to gamble money on an unknown, but I really like this print.

I've ordered a large bear for a friend before. I used an SS since there was no forwarding service back then. It looks like the SS (and likely the seller as well) tries to stuff the plush as small as possible in a box, which is usually below the maximum dimensions allowed for most postal options. Therefore you just pay for the weight, which was something like 2 kg.

from what i understand, they're inu inu's distributor but inu inu screwed them out of payment for a large order. they opened up store dog dog to make back their money, selling for actual prices instead of extreme mark-up like inu inu and now they're just staying open and selling everything on their own.

If you want something with bolder colors you can give this one a try. Some of their bags have cushioning on the straps and back so they may be more comfortable for your shoulder.

Generally, how much will an order have to cost for shipping to be worth it? I know that the shipping and shopping service can kill you but the bigger your order, the more worth the shipping cost becomes.

I've had them ship using EMS and DHL. Judging from their reviews, they switched a few months ago to DHL without warning, so I asked them specifically to ship using EMS and the person I talked to was nice enough to put a request in to do so. however my recent package from them was sent with EMS without me asking.
They do declare lower, so if your package value is around or a bit higher than the $20 mark you won't get charged by DHL.

As for the consolidation order limit, there is a max number of orders you can consolidate, I think, but I can't remember how many. I'd say it's unlikely you'll hit it before you reach the max 20 days free warehousing.

They also weigh each item as they come into their warehouse and update the status page. I actually even weighed my items after it got to me and they were very honest with their weighing.

I actually asked Clobba for a preorder on a dress that wasn't on Clobba site and not only did he communicate very quickly/efficiently but also was happy to hold onto my other orders for free until the dress came in so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping twice.

the overdress is basically the same as in the stock pics
its made of a mesh fabric, not chiffon or organza and its really see-through. the cotton parts are pretty cheaply made but overall it has a cute trapeze shape.the ribbon hem at the bottom is also adorable.
the fit is a bit odd around my armpits; the dress kind of cuts into them so i'm guessing it's not very comfortable to wear something with sleeves under it.

I'm not disappointed but I kinda hoped more of it.

It's very short, thank god I'm also very short or else I'd have to wear it with a underskirt or something.

The material is ok, but the tulle inside the skirt is too thin and doesn't really hold a shape. The border print wasn't cut in the side cut (I mean, the doge heads weren't cut) but the spacing there is uneven.

The skirt could fit two of my petticoats and has a nice shape, and looks kinda cute even without them.


Overall I liked it because it still looks very cute when worn, but I think it was way too pricy for the quality. Also it's totally a summer dress, not intended to be worn in winter or cold days.

I can post a full review with pics if anyone wants, and a worn picture

So a few of my stores didn't ship because it was either sold out or my order was wrong.
How do I get the refund?
I was under the impression that I'd get refunded automatically but it's been a few days and nothing on my credit card.

Also, there was one order from a store that weighed considerably more than I expected.
Is it possible to ship that order back and get a refund? I don't really want to pay international shipping for it, and I'd rather just not get it.

I believe you have to 'apply' for a refund. You can just google translate your buyer history page and click the one that says refund. Fill out the form (most of it is optional, you can just select "don't want anymore" or whatever in the dropdown) and submit. Either after 48 hours or the seller approves the request, the refund will be confirmed.

I think you technically have forever, but the seller often cancels/they automatically cancel the transaction after 48 hours or so.
