How do you guys pose? Unrelatedly, what are the best poses?
I'm guessing the tried-and-true "west side" doesn't apply here.

Oh gods, I am the worst at posing I always just end up with wired looking joke ones because I can't pose seriously.

I find it really hard to pose without feeling pretentious. I used to model but I'm still really fucking awkward at it. I try to make sure I don't look hunched over or stumpy (I'm 5ft) but deliberately trying certain posititions just looks/feels too try hard. Just bein in the vicinity of other people posing in lolita makes me feel awkward as hell

For me, it's usually not the pose but my face. Past three meets I was at I got no usable photos because of shots being taken while I was talking, or while I was trying not to laugh.

This is my problem too.
That's why my poses are often boring, I don't try anything too daring. I opt for more traditional poses, and sometimes, if I do try something new I think I look like a tryhard and everyone is just too nice to say anything.

I usually just do one hand on my hip and one foot point out. Occasionally I'll do what I call "the pregnant lolita" where I cross my fingers with my hands over my stomach like a pregnant woman.

Let's be honest it is pretentious. The whole idea of constantly taking pictures of each other during a meetup is very pretentious and embarrassing if it happens in public and everyone can see not only do you dress super weird, you're also so full of yourself you can't go three feet without having a picture taken. Photoshoots are okay in my book but if you meet with friends to go to a museum or whatever look at the art, not each other.
