I met someone a year ago that really changed everything about lolita for me.

>Average meet for 16 yr old me Not quite ita, but not incredibly put together either. brand but still not the best
>comm meeting up at local park for tea get there a little early, and wait in the meeting spot
>No one here yet, so I sit down in the pavilion staring at the awful furry porn drawn in sharpie (They've cleaned it up now, thank fuck)
>Woman notices my coord, and makes her way over to me. I'm used to being approached at this point so I think nothing of it
>She seems incredibly hesitant, as with most people
>"So..this is contemporary lolita?" She asked abruptly
>"Uh.."
>"No, I just mean"
>she starts to cry
>what the fuck do i do
>"Yeah, this is lolita" I respond, unsure of what else to really say.
>After a moment, she stops crying
>Is this person crazy. Should I fucking pull my pepper spray or

(2/2) (may be more depends on word limit)
>"I'm sorry, I just used to be into lolita."
>wat An oldfag lolita? She's clearly at least 30.
>"What brands did you like?"
>She starts crying again
>Fucking hell. What's going on? I'm at a complete loss
>"This looks so cute, so much nicer than the stuff we used to wear. We wore a small brand called Baby The Stars Shine Bright."
>"I lived in Japan for 5 years. My dad was an engineer, and we had to be there for his job"
> at this point I'm still not sure how to respond, but this is pretty cool.
> She proceeds to tell me about a few crushes, and then a group of friends she found through school in japan. They all had a fascination with lolita.
>"What year did you graduate"
>1995
>holyfuck.jpg
>"Would you mind telling me more about old lolita and your experiences in Japan? I have a group of girls coming to meet me here. would you mind talking to them?
>She gets very fidgety "No i'm good i'm sorry"
>Finally get the balls to ask what's wrong
>"oh, one of my highschool friends who introduced me died a couple months ago. It was something that brought us together back then. We created one of the first community groups for lolita in our area.
>Holy shit, I feel like an asshole for asking
>"I'm so sorry"
>"No, I'm just glad that it's reached the states, and the fashion still exists.
>At this point I'm fighting back tears.
>"You're beautiful anon, make sure you cherish your friends and don't take your community for granted."
>Realize i've been waiting in the wrong meeting spot for my comm.
>then realize 2 hours have passed talking to this lady.
>I never saw her again, I should have asked for her number. I went home that night and cried my eyes out

You have to be 18 to use 4chan. Maybe your 18th just happened recently.

That said, nice story. Damn.

Not that it'll matter, but it's entirely true
>>8118750
My birthday is the very end of December. Yes, I just turned 18, but regardless, I don't feel it matters really.

The 18+ rule is enforced. If you admit to being under 18 it results in a ban, so yes, it does matter.

I really didn't see that coming. Damn... I'll put some extra effort into my next coord. It's weird to think that this could be any number of us in the future.

I would do that too if I was in your situation tbh

i havent had a lot of negative feed back when in lolita but mainly because im usually with a group of friends and strangers tend to flake when there are more than two people haha. most memorable experiences really only involve people calling out dumb shit like 'oh look a harajuku girl', 'look at this chick' and once 'hey emo' which just left me confused as i was wearing (albeit darker) classic at the time. I have had many an idiot take unwanted photos behind my back as well but i think everyone gets that from time to time. I have had positive experiences too, the latest where these girls were indiscreetly discussing my clothes in japanese assuming i couldnt understand, saying i must be one of those 'people who like japan' (i initially assumed they we're dissing me for being a weeb) then continued on to how pretty i looked, which left me in a pretty good mood for the rest of the day.
