It's a driving service done by people using their own cars. It's cheaper than a taxi in most cases, and they have an awesome free phone app where you can actually check via GPS if there's an Uber close to you and how long it will be for a pickup at your location.

I live downtown atl and Uber really exploded this past year, especially with d*con. People who lived downtown but had hotel rooms just ubered over to hotels on sign in and saved a ton on parking

Just giving that as an option for people on transportation. You can also pay via card using the app.

Friday: Sleep in till noon. Get food, Walk around and take pictures. Visit Dealers room after the large mob of people in line clear up. Go get in costume. Go hang out around con, and try to get autographs of some people I don't care about. Stay in Vidya game room if possible. Might Get drunk again.

Saturday. Costume. Drunk. Dance.

Sunday: Pack up car, walk around and look for sunday costumes. Go home when I realize no one decided to cosplay on check out day.

This'll be my third AWA, and judging from the last two, it's honestly pretty tame. It really is a pretty family-friendly convention. Sure, it'll have its share of slightly-too-slutty cosplayers, but it's not the worst I've ever seen, and everyone's generally polite.

Honestly, the least family friendly-thing about last year's AWA, other than the adult-only panels (which are locked-down well enough) was the 4chan 10th birthday panel, for obvious reasons.

I'm freaking out and I still have work on my costumes to do, I have made so many bad choices. Also, my friend said she'd help me with making some...but she picked up a second one and is not done with either of her costumes. I'm not so much upset that she bailed in me because I apparently have trust issues when it comes to my cosplays, but I'm super annoyed that she keeps playing around and flirting with the othe people that come to hang out with my boyfriend than actually work on her costumes. I know she's gonna cry to me that she doesn't like how they've turned out and I'm just really annoyed.


That said, my costumes have turned out both better and slightly worse than I expected, so I'm pretty content with that! Pro tip: use scissors to cut craft foam, you will not get smooth circles if you use an excato knife....lesson learned and retreated

Teen titans shoot on Friday, the person running it decided to invite a little kid who's birthday it is so we can fawn all over him, only she did it without asking the rest if us.
I'm not really good with kids, and I'm not there to host a superhero party for a kid I've never met. I'm super annoyed she decided we'd all be in ball for this without asking any of us (this is like a Facebook thing and most of us don't know each other or have never met, it was made through the awa fb group).

I'm there to get some good photos of myself with people from the same series and I kinda feel like a bad person for feeling this way, but I really am not good with kids and I feel really awkward around them so now I'm no longer looking forward to the photoshoot because I feel like she turned it into a little kids birthday party without anyone's permission. (She and one other person seem excited about it, and no one else is saying anything)

There's a sushi place in Alpharetta about 30~ minutes north of the convention center that has an all day buffet. If you don't mind making the trip, you can get lunch for 10-11 dollars before 4pm. After that the price increases by about 5 dollars. There are a few other items, but the sushi is the main attraction and is actually pretty good.

I usually make it out there with my little group since it's the only time most of us can go, but I doubt the meetup itself will change this close to the date.

It will make the areas you apply it on kinda dry. After the zit has healed I lightly buff off any dead/dry skin (you can use a sensitive skin facial scrub) and then moisturize like crazy. You can also put neospirin ointment on it overnight to help with any dryness after the zit zapper has done it's job. I'm not an expert but I do have pretty sensitive skin and this is what works for me. Good luck anon.

Bless you. I figured I'd give it a shot and tried that (I already use a light coat of neosporin before bed, so that worked out) it's working out really well! The look of swelling/irritation is definitely down and some of the zits actually disappeared!

I always do Friday and Saturday since I live like 30 miles away and can drive/carpool.

The usual people-watching/picture taking was as fun as it usually is, but the con as a whole didn't feel as tight as it has in the past few years. Panels, including main events, were starting up to 90 minutes late largely due to technical difficulties, staffing seemed poorly distributed, and the artist alley was overall lackluster. There were a few diamonds in the rough that was the AA, but most everything felt so damn similar, sub-par or just plain boring that it's hard to believe it takes the director a month or more to sort through her applications/portfolios. I actually feel kind of bad that I convinced a friend of mine to fly in from Texas for this...

I've never been before, but it's definitely been a fun, but not "WOW" experience from a broad viewpoint. Personally, it's been amazing, though. Met my best friend of over two years for the first time (we skyped almost every single day and just, it's hard to explain. I also had just moved schools when we first "met", so I didn't have any IRL friends, aha), and the fashion show actually made me cry. I've been to a few Baby tea parties and events in the past few years, but this was my first fashion show and the brand is a huge part of my life.
