I'm kind of in a size limbo stage too. I used to be really obese but I started to lose a significant amount of weight. I'm sorry you had a shitty experience. /cgl/ has had it's share of fat, bitter lolitas who cannot dress themselves and as a result, those of you who are nice and know how to dress to suit your body type wind up paying for it. There's a lot of body shaming on both ends around here.

I know.. Like I said in another thread, I can't find it in myself to support body acceptance for the very huge, very unhealthy (inb4muhyoudunnomuhhealthbmi) girls. I feel as if that movement has just allowed larger girls to become deluded, obnoxious, and gave them a false sense of entitlement which they are now using to justify shitty behavior such as continuing to ruin their health or bully others. And, it isn't okay. Body acceptance has come to mean that it's perfectly okay to be unhealthy and it's jarring, frankly.

I'm not entirely sure if it's that, but more or less a way to try to make yourself feel less shitty about it. There are very few people in the world who are fat who enjoy being fat outside of fetishists.

To me it seems like a lot of people are backing the movement because they are pretty tired of being called names, bullying, etc. The world would be a nicer place if people would just shut the fuck up and mind their own business.

Ultimately it gives people a sense of self worth. Most fat people arent fat because they want to be. They aren't fat because they have a disease that makes them eat. It's because they are unhappy. If this body acceptance movement makes them feel better MENTALLY, they will eventually focus on the physical. If you're depressed there is absolutely no way for you to give a shit enough to make your health problems trump your mental problems

I'm not saying that isn't possible either. What I'm saying is that it is a bigger struggle for people who have gotten into the habit of hate-eating (or hate-not eating) to get healthy.

If for whatever reason girls who are anorexic, super skinny, chubby, obese decide that they actually value themselves enough to GET to a healthy weight that is a good thing. Of course there are people who are insist they are fine the way they are and that whatever extreme weight they are at is fine, those are the people with the biggest mental illness. They should not be passed over and be made fun of, but instead loved and shown their worth by friends and family members.

I just like to take a friendlier approach to the whole issue rather than just going LEL FATTIEZ SHUD PUT DOWN THE FORK, LEL SKINYN GIRLZ SHUD ET A BRUGER. That sort of behaviour doesn't benefit anyone.

Thanks Anon.
I think many people who are obese have some mental problems (binge eating, eating to cope with feelings, ecetera) or just an unhealthy approach to food in general. While we usually sympathise with people who struggle with anorexia/bulimia, fat people often just get a "LOL put the fork down fatty!!" instead of real help and/or education - which they should get, considering how much damage you can do to your body.
I don't think it should be an excuse to be obnoxious and all tumblrtard-SJW crazy though; the movement on body acceptance should focuss on reminding people that everyone deserves respect, but also make clear how to deal with food and food related issues.

Respect isn't something that everyone deserves arbitrarily. It's something that you earn from others. I don't respect people who gorge to whale status. And, since even before this movement began, anorexics still got shit for their ways. The tables have turned so that now eating a lot is seen as the healthy, normal thing to do whereas it's perfectly okay to shit on anyone thinner because they don't eat enough, according to people.

Sorry but this makes you sound like an idiot who doesn't know how to function irl.
I don't know what you consider respect but when I see random people on the street I don't go over and say "I think your existence is worthless because you are fat/anorexic/whatever". They don't need to "earn" your respect. You should just treat them as normal people on a neutral basis as long as they aren't obnoxious or bothering you in any way.

>And, since even before this movement began, anorexics still got shit for their ways. The tables have turned so that now eating a lot is seen as the healthy, normal thing to do whereas it's perfectly okay to shit on anyone thinner because they don't eat enough, according to people.
Where the hell do you live Anon? If you get your head out off your ass for like 5 seconds and look at the world around us, being skinny is still more socially accaptable and being praised by almost every piece of media you are consuming, unlike being fat. Which is okay, because being fat is not very healthy, but so is being skinny as a model for most people.
My point was that Anorexia/Bulimia is now mostly seen as a mental illness that people suffer from (it's not socially acceptable to tell an anorexic girl to eat a piece of cake and "just get over it", right?), and that needs to be treated/people need to go to therapy for, but fat people are still often seen as lazy landwhales who just cannot look after themselves - while many might have a lot of mental problems too, but no one cares because they are fat. Which is why they do not seek treatment and remain fat.
THAT is the essential problem that the movement should work on.

Transgenders and midgets deserve to be laughed at like freaks because we need humor in our lives. And what's funnier than a guy who accidentally sleeps with a she-male? Or Midget tossing or midget tranny tossing. The truth is, we have lost the right to laugh at what we have laughed at for years, and the big difference is that to deny ourselves the chuckle at these freaks is to deny ourselves a piece of our humanity. The side that still makes us giggle like a child when we see a kid say, hey look it's an oompa loompa? Who are we to deny the taxi driver the chuckles when he sees an anonymous nerd bring home a woman with a big apple in her throat. No, i'm afraid that respect cannot be afforded to these categories.

I do agree with most of what you are saying, but take out everything you said about health.
It's not healthy to be obese. However, making any argument about the fat acceptance movement based on health is bogus. If you really want to genuinely start ragging on fat people for being unhealthy, you're also going to have to condemn pretty much everyone in the world equally, because there are very few genuinely healthy people. Hell, just on this board, we all cake our face in makeup every day. Does anyone stop to pay attention to what is in the makeup we're wearing all day? I try to be conscious of this for my every day makeup (lel, implying I'm not too lazy to wear makeup every day anyway...) but for cosplay makeup, I don't care if it's made of formaldehyde if it makes me look like a kawaii uguu waifu.
The point is, you don't care about the health of random strangers, pretty much ever. If you see someone doing something unhealthy, you typically go "well it doesn't effect me, I'm not going to worry about it."

So yes, the fat acceptance movement on a whole is terrible. It teaches girls to project confidence in an attempt to overwrite the "sad fat girl" stereotype, but teaches nothing about how to actually be happy with your body. It teaches to be mean and spiteful towards anyone who is thinner or happier than you, and that will never do you any good. And in some cases it is teaching people fraudulent medical information, claiming that it's healthy to be morbidly obese, but one problem no one should have with the fat acceptance movement is "glorifying bad health", because each person's health is and will only ever be their choice, and honestly anyone who prioritizes their health above ALL ELSE is generally massively unhappy. Look at yoga whole foods yuppies. Do you ever see those pricks smile!? Ever!?!?! Life is a give and take. You give up the unhealthy things you don't care about, and you hang on to the risk factors that are worth it to you.

No one is refuting that. But it still doesn't change the fact that some stranger's health has nothing to do with you. If you want to care about the health of fat strangers, you have to care about the health of strangers putting themselves at an increased risk for cancer by wearing cosmetics that contain known carcinogens (read: most cosmetics), using antiperspirant deodorant, living a sedentary lifestyle even while not fat... yes obesity is a major health risk, but it's not like it's the only significant health risk out there. So the point is since no one gives a shit about all the other health risks, you shouldn't give a shit about obesity just because it's the only super visible one. Hell people don't get this kind of "concern" from strangers for things that are more deadly and also obvious, like smoking. Sure smokers get shit from their family, but they don't get random strangers informing them that they're killing themselves by smoking.

No yes you should give a shit about other people's obesity for a lot of reasons, the first one being healthcare and the second one being the economic impact and decrease of productivity thanks to the increase of obesity in a country.

It does have to do with me and to society in general because it costs all of us to keep those people alive. It also affects jobs since obese people tend to be only capable of doing certain kinds of jobs because their physical condition is shit.

As for cosmetics, if you're talking about parabens,
it hasn't been determined whether or not they're the cause of cancer. There was a study conducted in women who developed breast cancer and they were trying to figure if the parabens in the deodorant they used was the cause. They couldn't determine it, and the women who developed breast cancer had a history of it in their families. Certain types of cancer develop depending on your family history, so.

>Sure smokers get shit from their family, but they don't get random strangers informing them that they're killing themselves by smoking.
I'd love to live in the utopia where you reside because I've seen people shaking off the smoke with their hands. Governments have made buildings smoke-free and they have given people smoke areas.

People who smoke get more shit from others than people who are fat, and the reason why is because in the case of fat people, a lot of people could argue self-image issues as well as their self-esteem, in other words you can't tell them shit because you'd be hurting their feelings.

Obesity is considered an epidemic by the WHO, so yes, it IS a big deal, and yes, I am aware that "everything gives you cancer", but there are certain things that can be prevented; obesity is one of those.

>> No.7809874

>>7809865
First of all, not once did I ever say that I'm defending the movement, if you'd actually read my posts. I think it's a horrible and disgusting movement.
However I think all the people claiming that it's not ok for anyone to be fat because of health issues is one of the reasons why A fat acceptance movement (much different from the current one) is necessary.

Not once did I say that obesity isn't a big health problem. I have been saying this whole time that it is a big health problem, but that it's not your place to judge someone else's health or how they should be changing because of their health. In fact, obesity is pretty much the only issue where this happens. Even smokers don't get the kind of "concern" that obese people do.

Anyway we probably won't see eye to eye on this even if we both explain our points more. You obviously think you are entitled to tell other people how to live their lives if they are unhealthy as a result of obesity (but apparently not if they are unhealthy for any other reason), and I don't. That's a pretty fundamental disagreement, so I won't continue to try and reach common ground.

However, that issue aside, a large portion of the fat acceptance movement isn't even about obesity to begin with. A big part of it is about accepting bodies which are somewhere in between "average" and "obese". Y'know, chubby, mildly overweight, etc. And that's not remotely a health issue and they still get the same "concern" for their health from random strangers, even though these people may in fact be healthier than I am as a size 2.
So even if we disagree about how much is reasonable to get involved in the lives of obese people pertaining to their health, I think we can at least agree that when it comes to people who are chubby enough to be bullied for it, but not chubby enough for it to be a health risk, telling them to change their lifestyle to become "healthier" is just total bullshit.

>healthcare
Hmm, this seems an awful lot to me to be a fault of our shitty healthcare and government.

> It also affects jobs since obese people tend to be only capable of doing certain kinds of jobs because their physical condition is shit.
With the unemployment rate as it is... wouldn't you be happy that they are making room for you in the job market? At any rate obese people tend to be able to work white collar jobs, unless we're talking about the level of obesity where you end up on a TV show because you literally haven't gotten out of bed in 9 years. Let's be real, obese people probably wouldn't do physical labor even if they were fit anyway.

>because I've seen people shaking off the smoke with their hands. Governments have made buildings smoke-free and they have given people smoke areas.
Yes, because the second hand smoke directly effects them. They get people being grossed out by the smell or afraid of the effects of second hand smoke on their own body, but you don't see random strangers preaching to smokers that they are killing themselves by smoking and becoming parasites on the healthcare system, even though both are true, because no one truly gives a shit about a stranger's health.

>Obesity is considered an epidemic by the WHO, so yes, it IS a big deal,

And once again, not once did I say that obesity is not a big deal. I think we need to approach it as an epidemic, and do our best to combat it with better health education in schools covering the causes of obesity, healthy dieting and exercising, and all the rest. All I'm saying is that "treating it like an epidemic" doesn't involve meddling with people's personal lives when it has no direct impact on your life. If obesity was contagious by all means, meddle away. They'd be a serious risk to society if that were the case. But as it is, that level of involvement in individual people's lives is insane.

>> No.7809944

You have to understand that boob loaf is not simply a matter of full bust measurement. It is dependent on the cup size itself, so the difference between full bust and underbust. Default princess seamed bodices (the most common type of bodice used in lolita) allows for a difference of about 2 inches. Which is a B cup. When you go over that mark, even if you're below the 'max bust' measurement on the dress, the excess breast tissue has nowhere to go within the bodice except to the sides or pulled in towards the center, losing the definition between the breasts and creating one larger mass in the center, or one long mass across the center. Binders don't necessarily fix boob loaf because they simply press the boobs down to the chest, you still aren't getting a clear definition between them. I don't know her measurements but she could easily have a small cup size that works within the bodice.

Hope this helps.

So I took a look through her blog. I'm going to go with a small cup size. She's not wearing any binder I know of (the most popular ones have very big straps that you cannot wear any scoopy typed collars with because you'll see the straps) and she does a lot of layering with cardis. She probably wears some kind of shapeware to smooth out her torso but that's all I can really think of. Binders cause a lot of weird wrinkles in places (like the armpits and around the waist) that I'm not seeing. She seems really nice and open, I'm sure you could simply send her a message asking what kind of shapeware or minimizer she might use. But I'm thinking it's just a small cup size that helps her the most. She definitely doesn't have any definition between her booba but they aren't creating any kind of center mass and she layers to hide anything moving to the sides looks like

Had that my whole since I was born with a genetic illness (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome)
>diabetes
I get my blood checked every three months because of the medications I'm on. My blood sugar is in the healthy range
>liver being unable to process medications if hospitalized
Don't understand what you are trying to say with this but I do have some decreased liver function especially when I drink alcohol. I also have to be careful with medications with long half-lives. Again this is related to the fact that my internal organs are also made up of mutated collagen.
>breathing problems
I have sleep apnea, not because of my weight, but because of my weak airway again due to the genetic disorder
>bedridden
Very much this. But that is due to the genetic disorder causing dysautonomia. It takes 3 to 4 time the amount of energy to keep my body upright, causing me to feel constantly fatigued.
>heart problems
Despite being overweight, my heart is healthy. I still have to take beta blockers to stop my palpitations from sudden change in position.
>Amputated limbs
Don't see that happening to me in the near future
>becoming an actual, physical burden onto everyone else because you'd require a home aide to come take care of you and bathe you.
I can bathe myself, but I do have to use a shower chair due to the potential of losing consciousness in the shower and hitting my head. I'm 25 and still live with my mom. I also have my boyfriend living with me to help my mom with medications and cooking. I do feel like a burden. I want to go out on my own but it is not an option right now since I have not stabilized physically.

I'm considered in the chubby range off of /cgl/ and considered a fatty-chan here. I want to work out to lose weight so my joints don't hurt so bad but my cardiologist has limited me to only swimming since upright activities could be dangerous.

Contd.

That being, you cannot generalize all overweight to obese people as being the own product of their fatness. I did not choose to get sick or be born with a genetic illness that makes it hard for me to maintain an upright posture. My corticosteroid medications cause a lot of swelling and weight fluctuations that I really have no control over, but i try my best to stay healthy.

I think she chose black to match the detachable collar. As the beige colourway came with beige and black detachables and not beige and navy as some people think.
That said, it is a little bottom heavy, and the coord would do well from changing either the shoes or tights to a beige and keeping the other black.

>liver thing

There's a liver condition called NASH which is basically a fatty liver disease, caused by being overweight and what it does is prevents your liver from working properly. So, if you were in the hospital and got something like staph infection or something else, you'd die because your body wouldn't be able to break down the antibiotics.

It also causes other issues like making it difficult for your body to process chemicals it's supposed to be able to break down, causing things such as odor issues, inability to handle alcohol, inability to break down various types of medications, etc.

Very, very, very few people are overweight due to gland disorders. Any other scenario, it breaks down to lifestyle even if you have all the fucked up childhood traumas which make you turn to eating in order to cope. It still all comes down to you in the very end and it comes down to you getting your shit together.

Now, because all the fat girls will be jealous because she doesn't look as bad as them. Lots of fat girls likes to imagine themselves as chubby and will use that as an excuse to dress badly/sloppily.

For instance, if >>7808635 calls herself chubby, then it's easy to see that >>7818110 is way beyond chubby. They will get mad because that implies that they are fat instead of chubby. They also can't use the excuse "oh I can't wear this and that, because I'm bigger. When did I ever say ALL fat girls and imply that they are cunts? I replied to the anon that replied to the girl that got hate for calling herself chubby. If it's okay to hate on a girl for calling herself chubby because you don't think she is chubby, then it's okay to hate on a girl that think she is not chubby because you think she is chubby. Also, no one said that you have to be overweight in order to be chubby. Please stop projecting things.

Average weight doesn't mean anything. Average weight for who? By which standards? You can be average weight and still be chubby. The thinnest girl posted here would still be considered a fatass in a lot of asian countries. I'm from Europe, and in my country the thinner girls in this thread would be around average, but still chubby.
