An arcade he used to own before it was shut down due to his massive debts. I don't know the entire story intimately because it was a while ago and I was told it secondhand, but similar to his meddling in the lolita community, he got in with the local fighting game community and favored certain players in tournaments. This lead to stuff like bracket-rigging and most notably sending a favored player to a major tournament instead of the person who actually qualified. Then after he couldn't squeeze more money out of people, PZ up and closed, leaving the community without a venue to play in. He basically singlehandedly screwed that community over as far as competitive play for a while.

Got a group with a useless comm mod and members. 100+ people and barely 20 active, others are cos-players, lurkers or members who've moved on from lolita.
Thinking of maybe making a state comm group so active people from the surrounding comms can join up.
Anyone have any experience with fb groups that are invite only? I'd like to filter out half the shit in my current comm and just keep the cream of the crop.

I'm the mod of a FB comm (possibly same place?) and we have basically the same policy. In addition, we have a public page for the group that random people can message to be let in to the private group. When someone asks to join the group, we check their mutual friends, and what groups they are part of. If they are part of many of the major Lolita groups (LSE, CoF, etc) then we'll usually let them in even without a mutual friend in the group. But we do get completely unrelated people trying to join at times, because they think we're the taco shop called Lolita's...

We had this new girl in our comm and she was coming to meets at first, but she talks in this incredibly heavy accent (she's from some shithole in Scotland or something, I forgot) and looks kind of embarrassing... her face is kind of ugly and she has a daft look about her, coords are alright enough but I don't have the heart to tell her she is never going to look acceptable because of her potato nose.
She stopped attending meets thankfully, but it was terribly awkward to have to sit there with her.

The comm I know of is full of nice girls, except the admin of the Facebook group and group in general at meets is so full of herself. Every meet she comes across as a bitch and talks with a very sarcastic undertone, yet nobody really batters an eyelid.

Last meet was at an art gallery and it was cool, apart from no official time was set & some lolis couldn't find the meeting point because admin chick decided to already go into the museum with half the group aka her clique and failed to keep in contact.

A fairly new Lolita in the group planned a day out in the city for tea & a Japanese culture exhibition just recently and put up a huge paragraph of waffle about it on our official wall so that could be the next event to look forward to. The girl is very sweet and planned it out really well, yet the "leader" was openly mocking her at said art gallery meet saying that she comes across as 'fucking stupid' with how hyped up she seemed about it.

I don't know what her issue is, but she really needs an attitude check. The cunt puts me off going to any future meets, negativity surrounds her like a bad omen. Hopefully the other Lolitas will see the light soon.

Does anyone here have someone in their comm that they suspect is mildly/moderately mentally delayed who causes trouble? I recently had a girl like that in my comm damage my BtSSB parasol because she was careless with it and tried to open it in a car. I ended up being able to sorta fix it and told her not to worry about replacing it because I didn't want to have to deal with her word salads and lack of understanding of the situation anymore. Yeah, this was not the first Facebook exchange about the parasol; I told her that if I could fix it I wouldn't make her pay, but if I couldn't then I would need a replacement. Basically joined the comm for the lulz apparently, posted pictures all over cgl during a time where there was an influx of cosplayers and steampunk people looking for remotely similar groups to join. Lots of newbs, many of which have shown noticeable improvement by now. Wrote a textwall rant about altering brand that ended up on btb. It's one thing to have an opinion, and I can respect that. But this was on a whole other level of crazy. Anyway that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Basically took it way too personal and began going on a crazy witch hunt, which eventually ended in her samefagging up another comm bitching thread, posting pictures of herself and her real name in attempts to point it to someone else attacking her. Backpeddling, etc. Going on and on about others being fat, but sells off her brand because she's too fat for it and has sausage fingers herself. After she left it's been fairly quiet. Though once in awhile she comes on and cries a woe is me MY comm that I'm no longer a member of and never was interested in to begin with is full of itas. ablublu.

There's more, like huge textwall dissertations, craziness, blaming everything on having a bad day at her terrible job. I have bad days too but jfc. There's bad days and then there's mental issues. There's probably more I'm missing or don't know about.

On a side note, I think the mods of the comm do the best they can to keep creepers, spammers, sissys, cosplay dablers, and trouble makers out of the comm, and in the end that's what they're there for. Ignoring the fact that someone is dressed like they just walked out of HotTopic circa 2004 isn't being polite or nice, its coddling at its finest. In my comm (none of the ones being discussed here, obviously), this kind of thing is exactly what the core group does. The veteran girls and event organizers are constantly going out of their way to help the new girls, and many of them do end up improving after just a few months with the main group. There are always going to be a couple that don't want to improve and refuse advice and hand-me-downs, but I would say the majority do learn because of the generous and helpful attitude from the veteran members.

First of all, every single time someone has posted questionable handmade material or non-loliable sales, it's ALWAYS the mods who are stepping up and saying that something isn't quite right. They are doing their jobs. Everyone else is too uncomfortable to say anything.

Secondly, the mods have spent a lot of time creating guides for the community that are pretty spot-on.

They have hosted meet-ups with accessories and brand items as prizes with all the money coming out of their own pockets. They run panels at anime conventions to educate people about the fashion.

There are plenty of ways to give criticism without actually being rude. The fact that you assume new people will never change is the reason you think the community is bad in the first place. If every new person never did research, there wouldn't be a single good lolita in the entire world. If it makes you that angry, you need to start helping instead of spectating. You need to educate instead of berate. Through my membership in the comm, I have seen so many members grow and flourish. Some people don't have as much money so that process is going to take longer, but every meet-up I go to, I see improvement as people get settled into the style.

If you want to better the community, just do what you do best. Wear lovely coords, share photos, come to meets, and eventually the people around you will get the idea. They look at your outfit and start to see the difference between theirs and yours. Start discussion questions where people can share their ideas about the fashion and then you can interject your opinions in a way that doesn't involve being rude to them.

Basically, more polished than your basic beginner, sure. There's still plenty to nitpick here. Especially for someone claiming to be miles ahead of everyone else.

Red is unbalanced, bag and shoes on the bottom. Could use a little extra up top with a necklace or an additional hair accessory (a beret for example would look nice and tie it together well). The cardigan looks wonky and boxy buttoned over like that, especially on a larger figure. Go with one button up top rather than several. Could use more accessories. Not enough to break up the white areas. White tbh can be rather boring and needs to be played up if you're using it. These socks do little for large legs. Also, awkard, overused ita in her first lolita dress pose.

Basically don't post pictures and start shit if you're not on top of your game yourself. Especially if you want asspats.

Irregardless, that co'ord was a casual ensemble for dinner with my friend and a few people I'd never met before so yes, it was toned down a lot. There is red all over the print but it doesn't show up super great on my camera. Lots of lolitas pose with one leg in front of the other while holding the dress out including Misako. Also, yes Misako poses that way too but she does it with a straight spine and it looks best when you're directly facing the camera. Since you've got two Christmas hams for legs and both toes are pointing away from the camera, you look like you're about to fall over while holding in a desperate need to piss. Stand up straight, and your legs are big enough you probably shouldn't even bother crossing your legs to pose in the future because your back leg will probably disappear behind the front one and you'll look even more unbalanced (again, hams).

Since you decided to go full fucknut and try to loltroll me I'm going to go ahead and critique your coordinate. I'll try to be nice even though you really don't deserve it because this advice might help someone else who's not as much of a twat as you.
Think of your coordinate in thirds: top, middle, and bottom. Your top third doesn't contain any large amount of red at all while your bottom two thirds have large red eye-catching pieces that draw your attention there instead of equally dividing your attention across the entire coord. Your wig looks like a rat's nest and sorely needs to be detangled, and learn how to tie your neckties properly. Also, those socks make your legs look even larger than that are, stick to tights (in darker colors if you can manage).
Also, stop being a cunt and stop self-posting and then pretending you didn't.
