>section hair equally into left and right
>tie two braids but don't start the braid near your scalp

About a month ago I bought something and my seller left a positive text review but accidentally put a negative for the stars with it, which makes me look pretty bad. She messaged me like immediately apologizing and freaking out and said she contacted lacemarket staff about it.

I was okay because I really don't want to make buying a regular habit and figured lacemarket would fix it before I even thought about going back on.

It's a month later and I found something I really want and that Negative Feedback is still up. I'm afraid to buy or bid. Contacted them a few days ago myself and still nothing

No, you don't have to desire Japanese brand more than taobao brand to like lolita. Customs is killing me!
Everytime I buy something in japan, they hit me with huge fees. Usually I buy from the brand websites themselves or use buyee on on y!auc but screw that, this isn't getting me anywhere when I need to pay a 100 euro's on top of what I already paid.
So I'm in need of a new SS, thinking of going with Tokyo Pirates, has anyone used them before? I assume they can mark down packages?

Is it wrong to go to a brand's convention tea party wearing another brand as a main piece? It's usually alright to use a different brand's dress if it's in a convention. if the event as a whole is hosted by a brand, then you pretty much have to wear that brand as your main piece. >> No.7708794

>>7708760
I think just out of respect you'd want to wear something from that brand as a main piece. Does your current coord fit the style of whatever brand you're going? Will at least other key parts of your outfit be that brand?

Say for example, IW is the guest at the tea party or the one hosting or whatever. You want to use an AP main piece, but your blouse, socks, bag, accessories etc are all IW, and it's an overall classic style. I think that would be okay then.

She stopped wearing Lolita for a good while (transitioned into VW) and I think she hasn't kept up with the trends so she doesn't have a handle on the new way of coordinating yet. Things were simpler back in the day. For those of us who never stopped wearing it, it was easier to adapt slowly over time. I think she will get better if she sticks around. She really loves VW so she has a tendency to shoehorn items into her coordinates that don't quite work (for example, I think the gold VHS totally overpower that baby dress) and I think she needs to build up a library of accessories once she settles into a style (she's kind of been jumping around since she came back). Just give her time - she's just out of practice.

I think it's not the proper shape. Typically you see hats that are more like boater hats with a flat crown and brim. Try looking in thrift stores, you might find a hat with an acceptable crown but a brim that's too wide, it can be taken apart to the width you desire.

white is usually stark.
off white can go either on the cream side or the grey side, but is closer to white, just soft and not stark.
antique white is usually has a golden under tone.
ivory and cream are about the same as antique white, but cream is usually darker.

I know a few girls that are into lolita and they own a lot of dresses, more so than my /fa/ clothing which I spend around £150 upwards a month on.

I refuse to ask them how much they spend on it as it would be rude, but I want to look at it from a business perspective. How much do these dresses/accessories usually cost, what's the price gap between companies and designers, and how much does the average lolita cosplayer usually spend? If you don't mind, how much do you own/how do you or would you be willing to spend?

I prefer secondhand dresses and mostly I can get them for around 100 euros. I own aprox 20 mainpieces, of which 1/3 is handmade (about 50 euros a piece), 1/3 secondhand on the cheap side (around 100 euros a piece) and 1/3 is expensive dream dresses secondhand / new (around 200 euros a piece).

buying straight from brand, I think most of them have around the same price range posted above. I think Meta/IW do a lot of sales so that makes them kinda cheaper.

The problem is, with my account, the funds are removed even when a payment is processing. Usually, this is a good thing, especially when I have to deal with people who take forever to process payments. This is adorable. I'm a little biased since I'm a fan of hats, but I think it's workable with country or classic lolita, depending on how your outfit is coordinated and what your face shape is like - the latter of which I think tends to be ignored. I have a longer face shape and long hair, so a wide brim works better for me than a cloche hat like this one >>7709993

facial aesthetics aside, I think that the one with the smaller brim would work better for a classic outfit - something about its primness, I think.

I'm just worried that an attempted reversal of an international payment of $415 might send up some red flags. They're my favorite brand and I've had no trouble with them in the past, so I don't want to be too trigger-happy on reversals and whatnot.
The issue is, they seem to only have their English speaking staff in once or twice a week, so this process is becoming a bit drawn out. I'm not exactly desperate for money here, but $415 is kind of a lot of money to have just floating around in limbo.

To be honest, wearing casual lolita is two things:
Very toned down coords,
or, non lolita outfits using lolita pieces.
Aka, wearing a jsk without a petti or minimal one, with a bolero, simple shoes, and very few accessories. You wouldnt call it lolita, really, but its still not normalfag clothing.

Casual is usually
No wig
Lighter make up
Cutsew instead of blouses
Can be skirt, jsk or op but really subdued design, little to no print
Little to no pettis (in-built petti is great, AP and Meta have them a lot apparently)
Flats are ok

casual lolita?
>no wig

and this is why all the noobs think a wig is important. the truth is, it's not about having a wig or not. casual lolita usually has no OTT hairstyles - be they wigs or not.

Simpler hairstyles - whether with wigs or real hair - that can pull off a casual lolita look:

Well i think it's always lolita even if very toned down, and with a minimal petti, but the coord must need a cutsew or a blouse to work not a t-shirt. Not always lolita needs lots of accessories, more decorative shoes, cute shaped bags and so on to be really lolita. Fellow seagulls, I am thinking about ordering the Chiffon lover JSK from f+f. Pic related

I have never ordered from them before, so I am a bit worried.
90% of my main pieces are brand, and I have mostly been disappointed by Bodyline quality. The only offbrand dress I own that I really like is a Krad Lanrete Chiffon OP. But I thought about giving the F+F chiffon dress a try.
