Persona group that i've been planning for practically 2 years with friends. Seeing some old friends, as well as new ones I made at Supercon. ALSO, praying for there to be jojo merch. I hardly saw any at the last con I went to and I was severely disappointed.

Nothing too interesting, but one of my favorite parts of last year was the trip to tacobus (go to it if you haven't already!). Also, I highly recommend trying a smoothie from the convention center, they're delicious as fuck.

Nah, 21 is perfectly alright. I'm just a year older, about to turn 23.

Essentially, it's like so--
Bunch of rave music, some of it is shitty, some of it is okay-- shadowfax had some pretty awesome stuff, but he's never going to be w/ metro again.. so who knows how shitty this rave will be.

You hop around, let your body move and then find a pretty person, you go and dance with them and that's it, everyones nice, friendly, jump around and dance and try to make a friend-- and make it all night.

then past midnight the hotel parties start, the castle has an event too--- (that's in ybor, about 10 mins away) and from there on, if you're invited to someones room it's going to be a fun night.

But, yeah teens are the major concern for sure. Liability, that cute girl that danced upon you when it was blackout? Fuck, she looks 16-- what to do?

If anything, at metro especially if it's under 18 don't do anything naughty naughty. Roy went down for having fun with a 16yr old he met at the con, and there have been many other close arrests.

tl;dr Rave: EDM music that's blasted loudly, maybe a few kandi dancers, lights go out, strobe lights on, you can easily meet people, talk, make your body feel good and such.

Personally I was incredibly impressed by the dude in the rather large (warhammer? not familiar with the source material i'm anime trash) body armor suit, but ive seen him around a LOT at cons with pretty much the same shit, different con. He's sort of a one-trick pony of cosplay, but that doesn't change that i'm surprised he didn't win with that entire rig (which I saw pulled apart at the con, and was pretty intricate). But who knows, sometimes the cosplays that are the biggest can be the sloppiest and still look good, while the smaller cosplays can have better technique like we saw today.

As for being recognized, I went as the eighth doctor (from the short that aired before the 50th) on saturday. I think maybe... five people recognized me? Two-three of them were my friends, who knew who I was going as anyway.

Judge's awards are usually the judges' favorites and are picked based purely on elements each judge likes.

Kingdom Hearts showed a mastery different skills like ultra clean props, silicone sculpting+casting+molding, sewing, wig styling, AND *clean* 3D-printing. Costumes like the floofy dress, knight of solaria, warhammer, etc didn't win BiS because they were one-trick ponies. You need to show true skill and mastery on a multitude of levels to beat out everyone at BiS, and Kingdom Hearts did just that.

I agree with >>7683155. There was more than one entry that had 3D printing but a lot of it just wasn't up to par, so if people think that having fancy tools gets you an award, you're wrong. You need to know what you're doing and will be judged even harder because striations show sloppy finishing.

FWIW the only part of the BiS winners' props that was 3d printed was a little charm on one of the keyblades. It was maybe 3"X2".
The costumers said that their keyblades were hand-shaped from wood and fillers.

Personally I was one of the people who thought wtf when I heard BIS because it didn't read well AT ALL on stage. As seen with >>7686039 it honestly didn't look that great. Metrocon was great for me. The only thing I was really disappointed by was that I wasn't able to get Mcglynn and Epcar's autograph on Sunday because they closed down early. Though, I was able to get a picture with Epcar, so I'm ok there.

What annoyed me the worst was Hynden Walch and her "no pictures" policy. Like, it wouldn't have annoyed me as much as it did, but when she was doing panels with other people, they asked people not take pictures mainly because she was there. When I asked the people working there why no pictures with Walch, I usually got either she was "camera shy" or she had a "contract" and wasn't aloud to have pictures taken of. The only panel they didn't make a fuss about this of was at the VA Farewell panel, but fucking hell, her ass bolted the moment it was done.

Does anyone know what her deal is? I mean, I can look up pictures of her and see what she looks like, she's done interviews before. If she's so anal about having pictures taken of her, she shouldn't be going to things like this in the first place.

If you had a pipe wrench and a plasmid equipped, anyone who is a true Bioshock fan would see it. You should get some neon Blue lightning bolts on your arm or something, would look pretty great in theory.
