Hey guys, I want to cosplay as a few very shapely female characters soon and I was just wondering what you guys think on this subject. What do you think is the best way to pad up or fake huge hips and butt? Is it really foam or are hip forms worth the money? What do ya'll think.

You will want an underbust corset. A real one, not an ebay abomination.

Timeless Trends and Orchard Corset are good places to get cheap actual corsets. Measure your waist in inches and choose a size that is 4-6 inches smaller than your measurement.

If you do your corset training properly and safely, then yes, it should help you achieve the more pronounced hip look you are going for. Just please, PLEASE research it and do it properly. Other than that, from your photo, it seems a perfectly reasonable and attainable goal for you since you are already fairly curvy.

One would argue it's because the media is overrun with options for pale skin people, which is a fact.

However, because blacks don't seem to embrace dark skin characters as much as they do pale ones I really don't care for their plight. They claim that they just don't like the characters when in reality it's just them not wanting to cosplay side characters because they want more attention. What other way to get more attention than to cosplay white characters since they are the center of attention in most geek media?

If they learned to embrace dark skin characters and represent them through cosplay I'd understand their plight more but they don't. Leaving a LOT of dark skinned characters that never get cosplayed because the black cosplay community are too busy admiring and dressing up as white characters. Kinda pathetic IMO.
