It depends on how far away you live and what you do. AWA is a decent sized con, the cosplay scene here is huge so there's plenty to do with that. If you are a lolita, H.naoto and Putumayo will be here, as well as Misako Aoki and a plethora of lolita stuff will be going on as a the local lolita scene is pretty big as well. There aren't any really big guests coming and the panels are generally the same shit as last year but as long as you live in the southeast it will be worth going to

I was too cheap to pay for a badge so I'm signed up to staff for mine instead.
As the guest list has started having more and more people released, and more and more of my out of state friends are planning to attend, I'm kinda upset I won't have all the free time I want.

I plan on trying to put all my hours together on Thursday and early Friday to have the rest of the weekend free.

With that said, I heard ZUN will only be doing a super limited number of autographs and you'll have to catch him at his panels and stuff in order to obtain them.
I don't see this anywhere on the site--can anyone confirm?

ZUN, kors k, and moot among others. I've never been a big guest person but I am definitely pumped.

Goin to this. I live about 2 hours away from it. Personally freaking out cause this will be first con ever and gonna try to cosplay as well. Heard some good things. Ticketing:
Single ticket price is $50. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tickets are bound to a specific Anime Weekend Atlanta badge when purchased. Both the tea party ticket and the Anime Weekend Atlanta badge it is bound to must be presented to gain entry to the event.

50 Tickets will be sold in all. We will sell 25 tickets on Thursday September 26 at 10pm. We will sell these tickets at Registration in the Hotel. You must have a badge in order to buy a tea party ticket. We will also sell 25 tickets before the Fashion Show on Saturday.

Putumayo will have a booth at AWA. Chantilly and Atelier Pierrot had a booth when they hosted a tea party at ACen back in May. I bought a pair of Chantilly socks at their booth for $25. If you're looking to buy something from Putumayo before AWA, look up Tokyo Rebel or get a SS.

You go to a tea party to support a brand. You should at least wear one piece of their burando.

Maybe it's because you were so influential in me growing up. I started going to 4chan when I was 12, I'm 20 now, and a normal person, but back then? I had nobody.

And if I was going to be alone, why not be alone with other people? If I was going to hide my face from the world, why not do it with another world, a world with no faces, no names, no identities?

The Diamond Age, 4chan, and cosmetics are the 3 things that turned me into the woman I am today. In a way, they're all about changing how you're presented to the world. Sometimes, it felt like that was the only thing I had control over growing up: wearing masks and making them into what I wanted. Sending a message with the face I show the world was empowering.

My closest friends know this, my closest friends and the people that will never know who I am. It's such a weird contrast, isn't it? You see it on /adv/ all the time, people revealing stuff they wouldn't reveal to friends or family, but to us, to the unknowns, who could very well be them, or be nobody at all, they tell all.

Like, in real life? I look normal, I act normal, and I don't mean the whole "wearing cosplay in real life is normal", "carrying a daki IRL is normal" stuff, I mean blending into the crowd normal, and not goony or neckbearded. No V mask or anything. So it's weird seeing as nobody would guess "oh that person? She's an Anon, for sure!".
