Does anyone have suggestions for places to find fairly comfortable, loliable shoes? I'm going for a more classic look and really love these ones from Mary Magdelene, but that's not going to happen right now.

I'm looking for new shoes in both brown and cream/offwhite.

I can't believe I finally found the brand name for this. It's Pina Sweet Collection. I've had this photo saved forever without knowing where it was from.

The pink is my dream but I managed to swipe the black version in A condition with the headbow for a fantastic price. I don't wear a lot of black but it seems like a good time to try.

Considering Dream Sky was popular but not enough to get a reserve-based re-release (yes, I'm aware it's a re-release itself), I'd say no, you'll need a pretty big uproar for AP to do it again.

I really can't gauge what Musee du Chocolat's release will be like, on the one hand, there are 3 jsk styles, a onepiece, a dress set and a skirt, and a whole lot of accessories, so I think AP is prepared for this to be a big print.

On the other hand my SS already says she only has one or two colours left in most styles, and the previews have only been circulating a couple of weeks, so at this point it's a question of whether lolitas' interest is much bigger than AP's preparation

Does the colour of your bloomers matter? I was just gonna buy a pair of these in pink or purple because they're cheap as hell, but they're sold out in white.
I figured it didn't matter through a later of thick petticoat and a skirt, but I just thought I'd ask anyways before I end up looking like an idiot.

I run the axes femme tumblr, so I can give you some info.

They are definitely worth what you pay for, even more so in my opinion. Nine times out of ten, their stock photos don't do them justice - everything has tiny details, with lace, pintucks, ruffles, etc. I use my axes femme stuff with lolita fairly often (as well as otome and just regular stuff).
A lot of their customers are actually young-ish housewives, which is why they make matching kids clothes - I usually see a lot of women in their mid to older 20s in there. Women at that stage in life are going to be more conscientious about quality and how clothing holds up than a teenager.

I have a bag from them, and will say, yes, you do get what you paid for, meaning the items are cheaper than lolita, and therefore less well-built. There's a lot of details and lace and things, but when you look closeup the lace isn't cotton type lolita brands use. My bag in particular was somewhat flimsy compared to my AP bags.

It's still really good quality, especially since the prices are so much lower than lolita stuff, though. I just thought I should warn you, for some reason I was expecting lolita quality and it was a letdown to receive my bag, although in hindsight, there's so much difference in price that I don't know why I was surprised to get a lighter, flimsire bag.

I've had the benefit of seeing everything in person, though, which lets me be a little choosier on details like that.

And yes, most of the lace is nice and soft, but they also use (soft!) raschel lace, and laser-cut "lace" as well as the tulle lace and some smaller venise lace. I haven't seen them use the heavier kind of woven lace that Baby favours, or the larger kind of venise lace that I personally like.

As I said, it's still good value for money, just a bit different from what you'd normally get buying from a lolita brand. Then again, that's what the loliable term is all about.

However we had massive floods down south recently and the package got caught up in it as when I got it the entire thing was damage. It obviously got submerged or something.

I took the blouse out and it was fine but it was covered in the residue of wet paper - It had no cleaning tag on it so I swirled it around in room temperature water with a bit of detergent and the colour ran just a tad. Should be fine since I didn't have it wet for long and the water barely tinted but aurgh.

It's hanging out to dry right now but I'm pretty upset.

You can also ask your shopping service to ask the seller to upload a photo for you. Or hope that they do it before the end of the auction.

To be honest though, I wouldn't risk it. I understand the auction title has your dream item's name on it, but there's a chance you'll never get the item at all, personally I wouldn't take the risk.

So I just got IW Dollhouse skirt, a dream skirt of mine, in the mail... with 2 stains on it that had NOT been mentioned in the sales post. Can anyone who owns the skirt tell me if its safe to handwash in cold water? Im worried about the red running.. Im so sad. ;_;
I also want to ask for a partial refund, how much would be fair? The stain in pic related is quite large and noticeable since its right in the front of the skirt, the other also in the front is smaller but still noticeable.

This is probably a silly question, but how on earth do you wear a rectangle headdress? I know, on your head, but it keeps sliding off and just doesn't feel secure.
As well as that, is there a certain way to tie them? I tried trying under my chin, but there's miles of ribbon left over and it's just messy and awkward. I read somewhere that tying it to the back is an option to, but needless to day, that's a no-go and a tangle mess waiting to happen.

This is the headdress I have, and it looks fine if I hold it in place, so it's most likely just my cack-handedness making it look weird.. I'm hoping to wear it in the next week, so all help would be appreciated!

I've been through this several times. I skipped out on seeing my grandparents one Christmas (5 hour drive away) and then got a new boyfriend. Not long afterwards my gran went into hospital and died. Few months later after a week phoning my aunt after she had a fall and she wanted to thank me for her card, saw her in hospital, parent's had white lied and she had cancer, that day we were told it was terminal. My sis was busy with work but if she knew would have taken the day off work as we were planning to visit again in the enxt couple of days but she died the next day. Could had visited Grandpa over the summer but didn't, then he died in November. A year later my Grandma was in hospital v.ill, but I was really busy with uni so couldn't visit with family as again 5 hours up north, then she came out of hospital but then during December went back with a really bad infection, I was working temp Christmas hours so couldn't really get out of it last minute to visit, then she died just after New Year's Day this year.

Honestly, just don't go to the meetup because there will be better ones in the future. Part of the fact I kept crying so much was because I missed out on proper last goodbyes, partly because parent's hid stuff from me until they told me they died (they never said they were in hospital seriously ill, only said they were ill but then getting better, except with my grandma)

I'm so heartbroken/conflicted as to what to do about Melty Royal Chocolate. Is it worth staying up all night to try and order? Since I'm just starting out, would it be better to take the money I'd spend on one of the dresses and build my wardrobe a little more? Should I wait and see what the US shop gets in stock? Should I wait for next years release when I'd likely have the money for a full set? I'm honestly not sure if I like these dresses as much as past releases, or if it's just that I might have a better chance at getting one of these over posting a WTB somewhere... Advice?

Melty Chocolate doesn't seem to be an all-popular release, so I think you should snag up some second-hand dresses when everyone sells off their stuff to pay for Musee this month.

Also, AP-USA is definitely going to get Melty Chocolate. They've gotten pretty much everything print-related in the USA shop within a week.

Ok this is REALLY noobish but last time I used a SS for auctions it was about 4 years ago and it was Crescent Shop (they're alright but you can't avoid customs with them). Are there any SS's where you can enter a bid and it's automatic like ebay? And are there ones that lower customs? Talking about both mbok and y!auctions. A couple of items end in just a few days. Does it work out cheaper if an 2 items are bought from the same auction site rather than 1 from one and the same on another? Thanks!

There's no way to bid in real time on Mbok, you have to go through a real person. As for Y!JP you can use Noppin, Fromjapan and Buyee for bidding in real time.

It doesn't really work out cheaper if you buy from the same site, although i can be less expensive if you buy from the same seller because you save on domestic shipping.

I know that Japonica offers the option of marking the value down for customs or marking things as a gift. I'm in the US though so customs is less of a worry for us.

Personally I like Japonica because of the pretty reasonable fees, but they don't use anything other than EMS unless your order is really small and low value.

Royal Chocolate last year and the year before wasn't that popular, in that you could still order one of the less popular dresses a few hours after they go up, but they were still gone within the first couple of days.

If you aren't picky about that exact dress, and just like the chocolate texture, then the old Royal Chocolate does pops up on yja and mbok, not all the time, but it's not rare either. The prices vary though, I got a skirt for 10k yen but now I see they're all going above retail. I expect Melty Royal Chocolate to be about the same.

Only other thing is the tights, if you like those, I think those might go pretty fast so maybe you'll want to buy a pair, hang on to it but don't open it, and if you decide you don't like chocolates after all you can still sell it off, or if you get your dress eventually then you won't have to spend time looking for that.

(Personally I think the tights are a bit too much chocolate on one body, but maybe some people like it that way)

Yeah, with Mbok it's because of the bidding structure. Your SS has to contact the seller so that the seller can look at their feedback and give the OK to place a bid, which is why there has to be an actual person working it.

And yes, both platforms let you place a max bid and go up in increments like Ebay.

not that bad if you get into the resell/buy community. Buy off the japanese sites and sell on the english comms. You will either stay at 0 or even make money as long as you dont damage the dress. Some items like socks and shoes will always depreciate in value, though.

tl;dr buy brand off the japanese sites its WORTH IT, because you can sell it on the english comm. And KNOW the value of the item. Which means--- lurking. Know the value of the item initially, on the english comm, and on the japanese auction sites.

Don't bother with buying shitty bodyline dresses that have no resale value and look like shit. Get some non print brand for $80.

Bodyline dress is about $60 + $20 shipping
an AP dress off mbok (much better quality, with trade and resale value behind it) can be anywhere from $50-$300+ +$30 shipping. $80 is not uncommon on mbok and y!japan.

If you want to get her an AP dress brand new its about $250-300 right now.

I've been into it for a year and have 10 Jsks and 3 skirts. Aside from one JSK that I've not gotten enough things to coordinate with yet, I've worn everything at least once, if not twice sofar, a few things I've worn three times. I wear most of my things to conventions and a few meetups I can attend. But everything in my closet right now are things I plan to keep for a long time, unless I run into serious financial difficulty or wake up one day with extreme wrinkles and can no longer wear sweet with confidence. But I also pair it up with different blouses, legwear, shoes, accessories, etc.

Chiming in to add that mbok is also for mobile phones - literally the name (moba-oku) is short for "mobile auction". You bid and communicate and all that through Japanese cell phone, that's why it's impossible for a foreigner to even get an account or bid, like you can with y!j. Mbok also has a monthly membership fee, whereas y!j is free to buy from.

Urgh, how annoying. I've both hand washed this skirt and put it in a net bag and machine washed it on a cold 'hand wash' cycle without incident, but if you're mega worried about the colour running, then either just spot clean the stains with detergent, or put a colour-catcher sheet thing in when you wash it.
Good luck, and definitely get a partial refund: at least 10% of what you paid.

The last sales post I made took over two days to show up on the comm, in the meantime other posts were appearing on the sales comm as well. I guess a lot of lolitas might be selling off stuff to afford the Musee du Chocolate, so maybe the comm queue is much longer this time? My previous posts went through after a day.

I'd prefer some that are either decent quality (which is something I dont mind paying $$$ for) or are so cheap that if they get ruined I wont be too upset.
I've already checked out the HelloJune ones but the review on egl and the $14 shipping cost per pair is a little offputting.
