It's honestly not too hard for bigger girls to pull off Sailor Senshi. The classic anime/manga outfits are a rather streamlined design so as long as you can make your torso look tubular and your legs look long, you'll be fine. I know cellulite isn't specifically plus-size related, but how do you guys feel about small amounts of it in skimpier cosplay? I ask because I have a few medium-sized dimples, like two on each thigh, and I'm heinously self-conscious of it. I don't even wear super revealing cosplay but anything with a skirt makes me instantly hyper-aware of it.

I know cgl probably isn't the best place to ask, but what are your general reactions to it? Am I just being silly?

Honestly, I just wear flesh toned dance tights/fishnets and call it a day. Dance tights don't come with the wonky looking control top that regular hosiery has.

You can also use a self tanner. Minor cellulite is less noticeable with a tan (MINOR, if you have total cottage cheese thighs just wear some damn tights).

You can also use a decent cellulite-reduction lotion. Clairin's has one of the best, personally, but hodamn it's pricy and you need to be consistent with it.

Most places (especially Walmart) sell fairly decent Nylons. If the top is something that cuts in and you're worried about the waist of them showing, you can cut them out/attach them to something.

But definitely dance tights. Do us ALL a favor and if you wear tights, make SURE they don't have that extra line on the upper thigh that looks like shit every time. Even normal nylons ($1-5 US) won't have that, but they'll have less control. Nylons are always recommended.

I showed leg for the first time in a cosplay and wore nylons under my shorts. After losing a ton of weight, it's super hard to get that shit to stop jiggling, even at a small size. Nylons = amazing.

They come in practically white, which is what I need myself. Also, random beauty/wig supply shops generally sell them if they're not just tiny nooks. Like medium sized ones. If they say something generic or they're a wig shop, they'll probably have them. I've gotten a pair that I've worn 5-6 times and loved from a ghetto beauty supply store and they're perfect for $2. I've actually studied that in class for a half a year. Actually you're not made to digest lactose, the lactase is a gene mutation that most europeans and americans have because we've been eating lots of dairy products for generations. In countries with lower dairy consumption like some parts of Africa and Asia many people are lactose intolerant as their body cease to produce lactase from the moment they're not toddlers anymore.

As an ex-whale (we're talking 220 pounds + - was terrified of the scales back then so I still don't know the exact figure), I wouldn't have DREAMED have cosplaying anything remotely 'sexy', or hell, almost anything at that weight (you might have been able to convince me to do the backend of some cosplay like the Sejuani/Bristle one- but not much else). Down to about 150ish pounds a year or so later and I might have considered doing something like Bianca/something I could have covered up my extra weight with.

Only now, down to 130 pounds (still another 20 or so left to go), am I seriously considering starting my first 'real' cosplay, and I'm taking some VERY careful steps as I know full well despite looking fairly skinny now, my skins a mess underneath my clothes and will be for the foreseeable future. I think no matter what size you are, you have to go with characters that suit your body type: there's no point attempting say a curvy marvel Phoenix if you're a washboard androgynous blob (pretty much like I am now).

Have to say though, it's terrifying how many men do find obese ladies attractive. I was on okcupid when I was large and the amount of men that came up to me was ridiculous. I don't 'get' it myself, I'm ashamed to even look at pictures of myself from back then, but there is a market out there. I think no matter what size you are there will be people out there who think you're attractive, but I do wish larger people would just realise the health benefits of being smaller. It feels amazing, and I wouldn't dream of going back.

Boobs went down from a D to a AA. I have what I like to call a washboard chest now: they're pathetic. As for loose skin, I won't lie, I've got a bit - but what I'll say is that it does get better overtime. Over the past year I'd say the skin has gone down quite a bit (about a year ago I had a very slight overhang of skin, and now it's much flatter)- and I'd imagine with more time + lifting it's only going to keep improving.

My plan is to keep going with the lifting for a year or two, see where I am, and then consider surgery if needs be: but I'm quite lucky, whilst I'm littered in stretch marks I've not got huge rolls of loose skin like I've seen on others who have lost 80+ pounds. To be really honest with you though, even if I did have a load of loose skin, I'd MUCH rather have that than carry around that weight again. I love the freedom I have now, I'm running a marathon next month and love every minute of life now. I'm free to do things I couldn't dream of at my old weight (like ride roller coasters, actually do my job properly, hike, ski, wear that little black dress etc).
