I gave it a try, and I tend to agree with the other anon. I'd use cream as your neutral, and try to score some accessories or accent pieces in that bright teal color - shoes, a handbag, a hair clip, or even a statement pendant. I really like the idea of playing up some sailor elements with Night Fairy Fantasia, hence the collar and the necklace I picked. Reusing the bag, because it's so fucking cute.

Okay, I'll level with you - I never really know what to do with sweet. I gave it the old college try, though. Since yellow and purple are complimentary colors, I thought the best way to get the dress to pop would be to coordinate it with lavender.

It's just called Puppy Skirt from 2009.

Gorgeous dress! Since it has so many little details, I'd be hesitant to bog it down anything too flashy. I'm on a bit of a purple kick, so I tried to bring out the lavender in the print. I don't think there's anything wrong with coordinating it with brown or tan, especially if you're going for a more casual or traditional look.

I wouldn't do something like gold tights, that's way too overwhelming/would just look weird. Small amounts of gold like on a ring or flower pin would work just fine. I think deeper colours like wine/dark brown/navy look so lovely when accented with gold, but light, less pronounced colours, not so much, they become better accented with silver. Gold is pretty flashy after all.

I love love love that deep, emerald green color. You don't see it much in lolita, sadly.
So, upon inspection of the print, I couldn't decide if those subtle little stripes were black or navy - but I decided to go with navy, because it's more adventurous that way. I love the way that green looks with navy, too. There's no reason this couldn't work with black, too - just swap out all the navy pieces with black! The trick to getting black and brown to work together is to put them together as much as possible.

hey Collage Anon! I'm the Carousel JSK person from earlier, thanks so much for the awesome inspiration!

I wanted your opinion on these socks, do you think I should get these for my coord? Would they match, or should I try to find plainer lavender socks? There's some sax blue on the JSK as well, so I was thinking it might match but I'm not sure.

It's the socks on the right, I think the lavender stripes look sort of pinkish compared to the ones on the left but it doesn't look too far off.

Also I hope I can reuse these later for a pastel and black coord, I just got the idea and it could look so cool if I do it right.

Okay, this one was tough. It's a really pretty dress, and I couldn't think of a blouse in the world that wouldn't clutter up a perfectly good neckline. So... I'm going with... no blouse. That would also help avoid the "German milk maid" image. Another way to avoid that is to go for a darker color palette and structured accessories. I'd also keep things relatively simple, there's a lot of detail going on in the dress itself. Hope this helps!

I think this all comes down to what you want personally out of the outfit. I lean more toward the classic and casual side of the spectrum, so I might pick plainer socks, but this is about what you want. If you like the more over-the-top sweet look, then go for it! I like the yellow bow design, and it looks like an uncommonly good match for the yellow in the dress!

I don't, actually. As much as I like the look and idea of the style, it's just too expensive and impractical for my taste. My day-to-day style is much more casual, but I definitely have a penchant for pearls, cute rings, and frilly little details. I sure do love playing with the clothes, though!

This is the most fun I've had with a collage in a while. If you're set on a black blouse and haven't picked out a wig yet, you might consider an ash-blonde or silvery wig instead of the black you usually see with gothic. A lighter-colored wig will repeat those dusty shades in the print, and it will contrast really beautifully with the upper half of the outfit.

When you want to take a gothic dress and wear it in a more classic way, think about the details in a classic outfit; antique jewelry, bows, flowers, delicate patterns. There's no reason an all-black outfit can't be classic - it's all in the styling. Opting for simple black pumps over black platform mary janes will up the classic factor instantly. You can also incorporate classic's most basic color (beige/cream), or another color often found in classic (I picked bordeaux).

I think it would be fairly easy to make a classic-ish outfit with that skirt. You might look at some of Innocent World's promotional images, they really like the sweet/classic combo. You don't want to move too far away from the frilly, sweet side though, because it's a sweet, frilly skirt. I'd go for a peachy blouse to keep things colorful.

Okay, it's going to be INCREDIBLY difficult to match the color on those. I lucked out with this Jane Marple jsk, and it's still not a perfect match. My advice would be to find a dress or skirt with a pattern/print that incorporates that color, and keep things on the casual side. Hope this helps!

Everything above the black line I own so far.
The blouse is more creamy-yellowy than the photo shows so it brings in the colour of the hat and some of the tones in the print a bit more.

As for accessories, look for things that fit the motif of the skirt. Balloon and pony accessories have got to be really common on Etsy. Maybe some cute balloon hairpins or rings, because balloons are a bit ore unique in lolita than ponies, which have been done to death.

I love this print. I have the OP version in the same colour and I wear it as an otome style too. I like to pair mine up with brown (brown shoes, brown cardigan) to tone it down for more casual days, but also sticking to whites will keep it toned down. If you want to keep it more toned down, avoid lots of frills and keep it simple. A peter pan collar blouse looks great with this JSK, but get one with a medium to small sized collar and that isn't lots of frills or puffy sleeves on there. Also if you want a less sweet and more classic look, try shoes that aren't necessarily lolita and that have a heel.

I really don't like how short lace gloves look since I associate them with cheap raschel and itas, and I think they'd look off in this outfit since you have bare arms (in the "why are you wearing gloves if it's warm enough to have your arms bare?" way). I don't think you need a pearl element on the bottom is necessary,but getting pearl shoe clips could be an option for you. I would go for a simple white pearl headband and a separate rose clip as a hair accessory if you want to keep that theme.

Wasn't sure about the gloves either but i wan't to add something to my arms. My wrists look insanely small compared my my forearm so I like to try to find some way to hide that but in this case it probably wont work. Thanks for the advice I'll look into that.
