doesn't matter to me, you can't see it. I never feel off about wearing a white petti under any color, although I do feel off about wearing a black petti under lighter pieces - even still doesn't matter that much unless the material is thin without lining, in that case the black is a little visible

nayrt, but this is such a weird assumption to make that it would actually help in this situation unless you know anon is chubby.

For example my ribcage alone, at a healthy weight, is too big for some of the smallest max bust measurements I've seen on some pieces. Just like I'm also taller than what those clothes are made for and have wider shoulders than what those clothes are made for. You can lose body fat, you can't diet your underlying frame any smaller.

it seems to be fairly universal that the large majority of trans people and genderspecials cannot put together a decent coord to save their life. I have no definitive answer on why that is. I used to think it was because trans women are male and never needed to develop a sense of style until they transitioned, which usually happens at 18 or older. But then I noticed that trans men in the lolita comm also typically have crap taste, and they grew up female so that hypothesis goes out the window.... or they didn't develop a sense of style because they never wanted to (and preferred to dress like boys when they were younger) until they find out about lolita. Then there's also the gender specials (the female non binary or agender they/them folks, or the women who want to be called he but still continue to present as hyper feminine, make it make sense) who also typically have bad taste. Someone else commented a while ago that this is because they're usually autistic. But some of the best dressed people in the comm are autistic so, idk. Maybe these are the types of people who never took an interest in fashion and personal hygiene and grooming until they find out about lolita. And they tend to treat lolita as some kind of nerd costume. With their greasy poorly styled hair.

>> No.10891257

>>10891251
it's survivorship bias. you only really see the really fucking awful looking tranny coords, because the good ones either slide under the radar by passing or get no exposure at all (no one wants to praise a troon coord, but if it's not awful enough to be ita, it just doesn't get reposted).

it's the same way you'd probably think all western lolitas are fat ugly pigs if you only ever had reposted coords for reference. the itas are far more visible than the good ones, and the good ones are promoted far less than asian coords.

there's more troons around than you'd know, it's just that the normal ones don't advertise being a troon.

>> No.10891265

>>10891257
I'm not a part of the "I can always tell" crowd, but I don't think there's a significant amount of trans people who pass and don't tell anyone that they're trans. In today's climate I don't think many of them still attempt to stealth.
If I based my views on how trans people in the lolita community dressed on what I saw on CGL I would think 99,99% of them dressed like utter crap. But I'm not basing my view on what I see on CGL, I'm in a comm with quite a few trans people. AFAIK there's only one that passes in my comm, at least in pictures, and she puts it in her bio that she's trans. When you meet her irl she's super tall, completely flat chested and has a boy voice so if she wasn't open about being trans I would have thought there was a good chance that she was (I would not have assumed it though, there's some gangly flat chested cis women out there). I respect her because I'm 100% sure she's trans, she dresses decently enough and doesn't give off any creep vibes. So it's more like roughly 80% of the trans people in my comm dress like crap, which is still the large majority imo. All of the female they/thems and hes are very obviously female, but none of them are on HRT afaik. I have no doubt that with the right treatment a trans man can 100% pass, they just don't seem to be in lolita communities. It's not as easy for mtf. It doesn't help that a lot of mtf transition after male puberty. It doesn't help that a lot of fetishist men are getting into communities under the guise of being trans. I'm not sure I can always tell the difference between a fetishist man pretending to be trans and a mtf with shit taste and a masculine appearance. My solution as mod (if I was one) would be to keep them both out, but that would surely get me canceled.

>But some of the best dressed people in the comm are autistic so
It's how autistic men and women are socialized and diagnosed.

Girls aren't the ones getting diagnosed most of the time. How we present ourselves to others is part of our socialization. Boys are the ones getting the diagnosed. Honestly many of them are coddled because of it. They don't HAVE to learn x,y,z because they're autistic! Meanwhile, we have to figure this out for ourselves.

When an autistic guy goes over to lolita, they might not have any frame of reference, down to dressing properly, grooming and poise. Some autistic girls end up studying this shit like it's their life's work. Fashion, makeup, and looking nice can become a special interest and obsession. Thus, totally "normal" interests for women, and they go undiagnosed.

This is why you can get autistics who dress impeccably, and next to them is another autistic who looks like a dumpster fire. One hyperfocused on not looking autistic. The other hyperfocused on their husbando / waifu and never learned to hide their power level.

Idk where these anons are or how they met these people and I mean this genuinely and in good faith, every mtf I've met has been a dumpster fire or dropped explicit (no exaggeration) hints about being turned on by lolita. If there's anything that radicalized me it was meeting these people and trying my hardest to take them in good faith to be let down every time. The way they talk about lolita in trans spaces too is not good, to say the least? Like I don't want to associate with any of these fucking people, I've spent so much time reading garbage people write in their own circles and hearing what people say in person that I've just been permanently blackpilled for good reason.

A few ita threads back I was arguing with a person that yeah, I've had extremely negative experiences, and no I'm not some stereotypical terf boogeyman who looks for reasons to shit on people I've never met or seen. It's like, nah, I've met these people and they were genuinely rude as fuck and directly instigated drama or made topics about them. Nobody wants to talk about fucking gender, wtf. Please save that shit for your tumblr blog or tttt. If it's not a phase you'll eventually grow out of can you please be a decent human being and also not sexualize lolita? Not to mention this crazy taboo about questioning who's trans or not. Yes, there are indeed fetishists hiding behind a trans identity. No, I don't have to give someone the benefit of the doubt for being trans and "maladjusted" or for "gender euphoria". Sure you might legitimately be trans but what's the difference between a creepy male with shit taste and a creepy trans male with shit taste? Like the things that other anons said about autistic men, please learn how to groom yourself. Being a tranny is not an excuse. I don't have to be okay with someone REEKING across the table because, and I shit you not, they're still getting used to a female puberty. Please fuck all the way off!

in my opinion it's less about masking and more about social acceptability. autistic traits in women and men don't actually differ much, it's just that people think those traits are either cute or how women are. things like being shy or quiet are positively associated with women. where as being clumsy and airheaded is considered a cute "helpless" trait in women. in men though all those things are sup negative so they do end up being coddled, but by their mothers. where as for women we're coddled mostly by those trying to take advantage of us in general.

nayrt, but this is similar to my experiences. I used to be the first person to defend anyone claiming to be trans in our community because I always wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and I wanted to see the best in people, I always came up with excuses ("they're just finding their style", "they're just learning about female hygiene", "they're just at the start of their transition" etc). I was always friendly and welcoming and told them they could talk to me and come to me for advice, during a time when some of them weren't really ignored but you could notice people were keeping their distance from them in my local comm. So when they asked me I gave advice about which clothes would fit them/suit them, helped them find pieces that would fit their measurements and style, which accessoires, wigs, etc. I thought that if they just started dressing better and styled themselves better they would be more accepted and there would be no issues. (in hindsight this fulfilled some kind of sick makeover kink roleplay thing for them, yuck).
I got to be friends with some of them and I noticed when they thought they could tell me everything the icky stuff started coming out. These people told everyone it's not a kink, but then confided in me that it was a kink for them, that it did turn them on. And they genuinely think it's an innocent kink that they shouldn't be judged for. I didn't start a conflict with them or ever made my disapproval known, I let those friendships die naturally. I was just so disappointed, I felt deceived. I defended them and told everyone that they were just born in the wrong body. It got to the point where I just don't trust any mtf who doesn't pass. I will always think it's just a matter of time before the kink stuff comes out.

The way the trans community talks about lolita fashion is disgusting, I don't think they fully understand our issue with it. They'll some shit like them getting aroused by wearing lolita fashion is gender euphoria.

>things like being shy or quiet are positively associated with women. where as being clumsy and airheaded is considered a cute "helpless" trait in women.

only if you're not an ugly girl/woman. If you're ugly then being quiet is creepy, shy means you're cold and standoffish and like you think you're better than everyone, being clumsy is destructive and careless, air headed means you're dumb. If you're autistic and cute people will think you're a manic pixie dream girl. If you're ugly then you're not, then you're not cute, quirky, etc. Then you're just weird, awkward, offputting, etc.

Autistic women are expected to mask to a greater degree (or fit in, or whatever you want to call it) because of expectations that are put on all women. Autistic men get away with strange behavior way more than autistic women do. This probably also has something to do with the average age of diagnosis. Men are diagnosed earlier than women. It's pretty common for male autistics to be diagnosed as children, and get accommodations for their autism. They get taught that society has to be accepting of their disability too, that's it's a two way street. Women, who tend to get diagnosed much later, grow up thinking there's something wrong with them (they just don't know what), and they tend to do their best to fit in.

I think other anon explained it really well that some autistic women study things like fashion and styling (hair, makeup) diligently because they think it's vital for their survival in society, and that's pretty accurate. And that's why you get some impeccably dressed lolitas with autism and also some very poorly styled gross lolitas with autism.

On one end there's very large stuff available (meta plus size, maxicimam lovely size, tokuramine or how ever you spell it does plus size) and on the other hand some pieces you may come across have a max bust in the 70s and lower 80s. some are obvious sissy fetishists using trans identity as a flimsy kind of plausible deniability but i think others just have really terrible taste because cosplay gear or fast fashion brands are their barometer for style. r/lolita is evidence enough that there are plenty of women with this problem too. quality is not part of the equation, they do not know how to tell if something fits aside from being able to physically get it on their body, and coordinating is only an incidental part of a coord. given the way some of them talk about it i suspect lot of them are just extremely normie and think "subculture" fashions are supposed to be attention grabbing and costumey by default.

>>10891310
yeah, i'm not autistic but have a cluster a personality disorder that people often assume is autism. i was directly called creepy and offputting (in an intentionally hurtful way) as a teenager when i was heavier and more poorly dressed. meanwhile the autistic boys who were constantly sexually harassing people and sperging about 4chan posts in their jorts were seen as needing extra social assistance and forgiveness. even today i'm perceived totally differently when i'm dressed up, especially if i have something cutesy instead of practical on. it doesn't matter if my behavior stays exactly the same.

>>10891470
do you think women don't carry keys in their pockets anon? the acrylic ones do eventually get scratched but they hold up decently if you don't abuse the shit out of them. you can polish the surface with tamiya compound/plastx/novus or whatever. if you get the kind where the image is sandwiched between two pieces of acrylic instead of painted or printed on the outside you don't need to worry about damaging image the itself. i think you can polish metal keychains too but i don't have any experience with how to do it. an alternative would be rubber or plush keychains. they just need spot cleaned if they get grubby or scuffed.

Both of these are still tied to social expectations, you just added the extra one that girls should be pretty. The same kind of thing happens to autist men if they're ugly and not successful. Successful male with autism is just eccentric where as if he's not, he's a freak. Also keep in mind this is all only in NA not in Europe or Asia where autism is still rightly treated as a disability. The autism acceptance movement in NA is making treatment more difficult for people who need it simply because some annoying HFA think that they're gods.

>> No.10891579

people are generally perceived better when they look good. what any given person considers good is subjective but this is usually true whether you like it or not. a single overlapping observation doesn't make a shared ideological stance.

>>10891573
to be clear these kids weren't successful. maybe i phrased this poorly. they weren't seen as eccentric and they weren't considered cool, they were just not actively socially pushed to the margins for their behavior. if they weren't known to be autistic they would have received MORE pushback for how they were acting. the idea here is not that they have autist privilege or something, just that there is a certain level of permissiveness and a "just deal with it cuz he can't help it" attitude for autistic boys that is not (or at least Was Not when i was in school) extended to autistic girls. they had plenty of problems in other ways and this permissiveness doesn't actually help them connect with other people.

ayrt, I noticed the similarities but there's an essential difference in that incels will stalk or harass women, touch them without their consent or make wildly inappropriate comments, and then claim that this would not be considered creepy or harassment if they were conventionally attractive.
Autistic behavior in women is generally considered creepy and off putting if those women are ugly or plain looking, I'm not talking situations in which autistic ugly women are making unwanted advances.

Not just in general society, we see this in lolita communities too.

>> No.10891583

I hadn't considered the cultural differences before, but when you mentioned HFA thinking they're gods then this issue is absolutely international. I live in europe and we definitely have dudes (I've never seen a woman say this, although I'm sure they exist) who say that their HFA/aspergers means they're better than everyone else, and the next step in human evolution, etc.
People here seem to have a lot of patience with men (regardless of their appearance) and their autistic behavior. Autistic women are treated like they ought to know the rules, and are given less tolerance and patience. Nothing surprising I suppose.
I'm also sure it's true that the appearance of autistic men makes a difference in how they are perceived because it does in general, but there's still a massive double standard between them and the women.

I see this in lolita comms here. Autistic man gets 5 warnings and explanation about how his behavior is unwanted and specific instructions on what not to do, then mods drag their ass on kicking him out when he continues doing it. That might have something to do with mods not wanting to appear trans phobic. Autistic women get one warning about how certain comm members feel uncomfortable with their behavior, but then no explanation about which behavior this is or anything specific about how they should be acting. I've seen this with 2 autistic female comm members, who are actually some of the sweetest people I've ever met. Getting mods to elaborate is like pulling teeth. It turned out to be about these two autistic women oversharing according to certain other comm members. Was it anything yucky or intimate like you would expect when you hear the term "over sharing"? No, it was about how they mentioned they bought something for their physical disability.
It's an absolutely fucked up world that the autistic guy with a cross dressing fetish gets to make inappropriate sexual comments and is still in the comm. (1)

The women got told in softer terms that they should conform to local comm culture or gtfo.

This pisses me off. And even worse, there are some comm members who openly talk about their private life but everyone accepts it because everyone knows them and they're popular.

>have lost 35+ lbs already

what style of lolita are your interested in? if you're overweight, you might have trouble fitting into older pieces and specific classic brands, but a lot of modern sweet will probably fit you, as well as more inclusive brands like atelier pierrot.

if you're losing weight, and a lot of it, and you think it might affect the things you wear for lolita, then i say wait a little longer before buying pieces, or buy pieces that have size flexibility (shirring, adjustable straps, corset lacing).

also: unlike what some people might say, there's no age limit to lolita, so there's no "end of the line" for you. you're allowed to leave and rejoin as many times as you like. it's also not all or nothing, so you can try out one coordinate and see if you feel comfortable in it right now? it's not like lolitas don't wear zara sometimes, too.

fellow former anorexic turned fatty chan, now overweight because I overshot by a lot in recovery, but slowly losing weight now the healthy and sustainable way, which is just a different kind of struggle because it requires a lot more patience than methods that lead to rapid weight loss. I have some remaining anxiety around the fact that I'm in my late 30s and have never been conventionally attractive looking. I recently came to the realization that the idea that I'm ugly is mostly in my head, and that in reality I am just average.

Positive points;
>people assume I'm a lot younger than I am, due to a combination of genetics and having been a recluse for a long time (not out in sunlight).
>have a lost some lbs whilst increasing health and strength, and continue to lose lbs slowly
>enjoying life way more now I'm not actively dying and also no longer in that part of recovery when my weight was going up and I was feeling hopeless, not knowing when it would end
>my life is getting better in almost all aspects. It's nice to see hard work paying off.

I'm enjoying lolita fashion a lot. You just need some guts (or stubbornness) to wear it. I've known a few people with AN in the past and if that was anything to go on I know that people with AN are stubborn. So I think you can do this.
Other people's opinions only have the power that you give them, so if you decide that the holder of the opinion does not matter then their opinion doesn't matter either.
This system works well for me because I don't have many fucks left to give.

as for spotting replicas, the lace almost never matches or looks strange. also, ask for pictures of brand tags if you think it looks off. If you're talking about knowing if a dress is a replica, any dress claiming to be from a japanese brand is a replica. as well as any "generic" dresses that you see listing for everywhere, like the infamous andromeo replica. for a beginner, find a list of known taobao lolita brands and only buy from those.

You can get walking shoes that aren’t sneakers and are much cuter.
This said sneakers can look cool with lolita but generally they are fashion sneakers and not ones with any type of good support.

My question is, is it a big no no to wear a short sleeve blouse and no type of arm wear or anything with it? I don’t like wrist cuffs and I also don’t really enjoy wearing jewellery.

It's not a huge no-no. If you post a coord some people might suggest that you wear wrist cuffs or bracelets but it's not going to make or break the coord. I love wrist cuffs so much that anytime I wear short sleeves I see it as an opportunity to wear them but I also remember a time when almost no one bothered with wrist cuffs and neither did I. They've become a lot more common these days but they're still not mandatory.

Depends on the coord. Probably fine to have bare wrists most of the time but if you wear sweet or are going OTT it'll look off-ballance having nothing there.
If it's looking weird that it's bare, you could throw on a simple pearl bracelet. That'd work with most styles too.

Nayrt. During the 90s and early 2000s it wasn't uncommon for women who were into cute styles to buy from clothing brands aimed at children. They did this because they thought the style of the clothes was cute and because there were fewer options for cute clothes in the past. Iirc this was one of the reasons why Emily Temple Cute was created. Apparently customers had asked the owner of Shirly Temple (or was it just emily temple? Please correct me if I'm wrong ) if they were interested in creating fashion for adults with a similar style. There was an increase in cute brands for adults during the early 2000s which lead to a decrease of women buying from brands aimed at children.

I won't deny there are people who buy kids stuff for kink reasons, but afaik this is a fairly recent thing and not as wide spread as buying kids clothes for non kink reasons was.

Folding sometimes can make prints either flake or crease, so you have to be extra careful when handling cutsews with silk prints or any other non-sublimation method. Old moitie sometimes have this kind of plastic-y kind of print, so it's not a good idea to fold cutsews, unless you're folding only the sleeves.

Cutsews with velvet details should not be folded either, as real velvet can leave permanent marks after being folded.

If your cutsew has any type of metallic acc, you should look out for rust and stains, so folding these is not really good unless you live in a really dry place.

So it all comes down to the specifics of the piece. Hanging is not a good idea, but folding also comes with some cons that should not be overlooked.

at the risk of being a dead horse, have you checked lacemarket? solid pieces go for cheaper and if you aren't picky, you can probably get an older, less popular solid piece from baby or ap (and especially iw, if you're into them as well) for that price. closetchild also has some good deals often but of course shipping might push you over your budget. recommending a single piece is hard, since there's so many that fit your criteria, so it's better if you search through lolibrary with the brands you like in the filter if you want the names of specific dresses. my advice is just to look at the current secondhand sales and see what's in your budget. you don't need to go for taobao or indie unless you want to; you can def get something by baby with that budget.

also note that the dress you've posted, along with the brands you've listed, aren't gothic. sweet lolita can come in any color, including black. as a newbie, you may have a harder time differentiating gothic lolita and sweet old school in black color ways, but you'll get an eye for it after a bit.

nta and I used to agree with you guys but at this point I honestly don't care if people wear replicas with their stolen art, as long as the real dress is sold out. If they didn't sell out of literally everything, I would have sympathy. But they create this annoying artificial scarcity and don't care at all about preventing scalpers from snatching things up. They made this bed for themselves.
Fwiw I don't even own a replica, I just think the actual impact of it is completely overblown by retarded midwits. I do have sympathy for smaller or indie brands whose artwork is stolen, but that's because they simply can't always produce enough clothing if they're unsure it will sell. So they frequently have to make re-releases with the same art. AP doesn't share that problem and doesn't even bother with re-releases for most prints

AP literally has rules in place to try to prevent scalpers on release day, and has been rereleasing popular prints and solids for their customer's requests

this is basically the problem for AP though, I'm not sure how "huge" you think AP's production is but there's maybe 100-200 dresses of each series in a regular release that's made. AP isn't some huge conglomerate making thousands of clothing items every release will tons of employees.

there is no mental gymnastics. AP is objectively not financially hurt by someone buying stolen artwork for an old sold out dress. You sound like one of the retarded midwits I'm talking about. You probably think people who jaywalk in their suburb are also evil. Just because something is illegal doesn't make it some ultimate evil.

>>10895230
if they re-release the print as an MTO, then there's no excuse for continuing to wear a replica, that I agree with. But if a print is sold out, with no plans for a re-release, there is objectively no harm done to them. buying a replica is not hurting them, because they are not standing to gain from it. they literally are not using that art anymore.

AP is big enough to make new dresses on a weekly basis and sell out constantly. if they really cared about making money off their old designs, then they would put out more re-releases and MTOs of popular prints.

They're not an indie shop like AndRomeo or AntiqueBeast who keeps re-releasing the same designs due to limited resources. Once an AP print has sold out, 99% of the time it's not going to be released by them. So if someone gets a replica, I do not think they're some evil demon if they normally buy from AP as their first choice

nayrt but you can wait until the official dress you want pops up on the second hand market (buying second hand brand indirectly stimulates people to buy more directly from the brand, since they can resell it), or contact the brand and ask for a rerelease like japanese lolitas do. The fact that AP releases new designs regularly and "sells out constantly" has nothing to do with the size of the company and how well they're doing financially. That just means that they don't produce more than they expect to sell. They're a niche alternative fashion brand, it's a small company. Their production runs aren't big. You don't know how they are affected by companies selling replicas.
Buying replicas is tacky and entitled.

I'm not part of this discussion but I just wanted to note that I have been doing that for some time with no results. I believe we need to gather a certain amount of people to really convince that their rerelease will sell.

>> No.10896219

>>10896210
Yes, if a brand gets enough requests from their customers they will consider rereleasing certain items. I don't know if anyone who reads this needs more convincing that this can work but some brands have said that they take customer's voices into consideration, japanese lolitas say they do this, and (in the past at least) there've been cases where western lolitas have made things happen by requesting certain pieces, garment features and changes to the brand's website.
The biggest problem these days is lack of commitment/follow through from potential customers. For example AtePie said "only about 30% of overseas customers who request a release will buy it, compared to 80% of japanese customers". I can angrily shake my fist at clouds and shout about disloyal youngsters these days, but it's also because of how the lolita fashion market has changed. Some people think that everything should just be available to them, even if they're not going to buy it, and they don't feel obligated to buy the stuff they requested. This doesn't directly affect me because I don't like AtePie's style, but it does indirectly affect all of us if we gain the reputation that requests from westerners can't be trusted. Paying before hand (MTO style) could solve the issue, but that's after they'll even consider doing a rerelease.
On the current lolita market there are so many more options in general, and more options for sizing and price points, that people are less likely to be very serious about needing a specific brand to make something.

Why would a brand take the financial risk to do another run of a series because one single person asked for it? you need hundreds, thousands of customers asking. Why do you think we've gotten the MTO rereleases we've been getting? Because thousands of Chinese and Japanese customers have been asking for them. Why would they listen to a handful of westerners asking for a rerelease when like >>10896219 points out that the west doesn't actually buy the things they ask for when instead they can produce the releases that Chinese and Japanese lolitas ask for and who actually do put their money where their mouth is and purchase?

>>10896193
> if a print is sold out, with no plans for a re-release
But how would you know AP is or is not planning a rerelease?
> they literally are not using that art anymore.
AP uses print artwork on other materials so older artwork does have the possibility of getting used - but regardless of them using the artwork currently or not, that still doesn't give you the right to steal it?
>AP is objectively not financially hurt
This is false, though. You spend money on a fake instead of putting the money into the brand. Replica makers will now know to keep making replicas because people like you will keep buying them. So more shoddy replicas will get made that will hurt AP's reputation and take money out of their pockets. You act as if lolita brands haven't gone out of business because of replicas existing. Buying replicas is just selfishness because you want thing right now because you don't have the patience to just wait, and you don't care who it hurts in the long run.

I've also seen lolitas who fawn over new releases from Baby, and can afford to buy it new, but instead say they'll wait for it to show up secondhand. When the market is as fucked up as it is? Enjoy paying more for it used than Baby would have sold it for.

There's a percentage of plus size lolitas that can't afford it, but demand it. They purchase strictly from indie because of the price point, or the ease of purchase.

There's another percentage that will actually purchase the items. Hell, if there's a MTO that I really want and it's not released in my size, I'll buy an extra headbow and get the thing altered. There are SS that take half upfront and half later for MTOs, though you're ultimately paying more in the end.

I've found some good shit 2nd hand though. I'll sift through Japanese 2nd hand sites and find things I wanted NWT at a lower cost than the brands released, including Baby. I haven't bought any main pieces via the western 2nd hand market in a looong time. Fuck that. I like to support the brands when I can though.

The best way to see if you fit into a specific garment is by taking your own measurements and making sure you're a few cm under the garment measurements.
I personally like to stay 5cm under the garment measurements for bust and waist for dresses and blouses.

I haven't checked bodyline's 2L size and I also don't know if that size is consistent. Something saying "L" in the size is not a good indicator (for asian fashion) if the person wearing it is fat or not, some chinese brands will have an XL that is equivalent to a standard M size from japanese brands. Never go by label or by size conversion charts, just check the measurements.

I have a weekly weigh in, and if my weight has changed I jot down my measurements as well because those are important if you're shopping online. Even if you don't weigh in weekly I suggest you measure your bust and waist before buying clothes online.

ayrt, I've noticed that the people who complain the hardest that AP isn't making things in their size never intend to buy it even if AP did. They think jpn brand is overpriced and strictly buy larger items from chinese brands at a much lower price point, some don't even do that and wear shitty looking DIY. These are the people who think putting 50$ towards a dress is a splurge. I've seen one claim that jpn brand costs the earth, but that jpn brand is fatphobic if they don't make (insert size here).

Some also complain about jpn brand sizing, but then don't buy when jpn brands release stuff in their size because they would rather spend an almost equivalent amount of money on non-cheap indie.

I've only seen a handful actually request stuff that they are willing to buy without complaining. AtePie's stats just confirmed it.
