It's not even worth a quarter of that, regardless of the fabric. They're really trying to take advantage of the oldschool boom lately putting their prices so high, and they're an indie brand, so I'm not sure where they get the audacity. No one is going to pay that much for non-brand. Their blouse is also £360. I could buy something legitimate for that much.

just eyeballing as someone who embroiders but for a hobbyist that amount of work looks like it would take maybe 10 dedicated hours, give or take 2. i don’t think that justifies 1800 pound with the rest of the dress… it looks so weird and ill-fitting as well, and the embroidery is just kind of slapped on there with no regard for design. highway robbery at best.

I think the pictures are just unfortunate. I expect a bit more detail all round for £1800 but they failed to take any good pictures of the bustier embroidery, for example. The skirt is where it falls apart for me. Rose embroidery looks nice but there's just so much... nothing, on the rest of it. Ruffles aren't enough for something that, judging from the styling and pricing, is meant to be a wedding garment.

For the photos of the models, it isn't just O. The lighting and angles for many of their photos would make any otherwise attractive person look weird.

i might be wrong but the bustier detail looks either machine embroidered/some kind of overlay but it is hard to make out from that potato quality picture. i’m betting on the ribbon embroidery being the only hand embroidered aspect though. it’s the length that’s really messing with me. if it were shorter, the disparity between the big empty space and the embroidery would be less jarring

summer tales did that for the normal price kek, you pre-ordered a dress and chose a size from their sizing list or gave your own measurments

I understand the price of the other collection, we can deem it not worthy, but it makes sense for their clothes to be expensive, even a bit more than brand. Now, not only the price of this dress doesn’t make any sense, the dress itself doesn’t make sense.

Without the embroidery it’s a boring dress with poorly made ruffles that is relatively cheap to make. The embroidery, which should be what really made the dress desirable, is generic and placed so weirdly, it looks like someone started an embroidery project and gave up in the middle of their work.

If fatties keep squishing themselves into small pieces from 20 years ago, yes, they will. I'm seeing unfortunately a common theme. It will 100% destroy the pieces. It makes me realize that newfaglitas don't know old lolita is *small*

By stretches, I mean it stays stretched out. You're not going to shrink the elastic. Man, you guys are so dense. There's literally no way to retain the elastic in the old school pieces for people who PUSH against the elastic. You might as well consider that piece at the end of it's life.

>> No.10689823

>>10689820
It stays stretched out unless you fix it because stretched out shirring can easily be replaced, that's why it's useful to learn how to mend your clothes.
I've bought otherwise fine pieces with stretched out shirring before and saved a bunch of money because of the damage. It takes 1 hour to replace the elastic and restore the piece to its original size, or the shoulder straps to their original length.

>> No.10689827

>> No.10689831

If tons of people buy the butchered AP dresses that fatties have altered I'm sure no one will have a problem buying a piece being sold that had some replaced elastic.

Plus if you tailor things to suit your body or look nicer and more fresh, why would you need to sell? Exceptions exist sure but buy clothes to last and keep. Especially in old school and lolita in general this should be the philosophy. Resale value arguments are silly to a degree. If you're considering resale value before making a decision about clothes it implies you either aren't spending wisely and might need to sell for money in an emergency or you don't like the item all that much.

>> No.10689832

I never understand this argument, by the time these pieces fall apart either more oldschool style brands will have appeared or they will be so overpriced secondhand it will be cheaper to get a custom piece made.
