i've been highkey thinking of writing a hobbydrama piece on the whole talia debacle with the original feedback database on the comm sales. there's a lot of material still floating around on LJ that can be screencapped. that's my favorite drama incident by far and i feel like it's been forgotten to the sands of time

back on livejournal there wasnt a really great system for leaving feedback for people on the comm sales. then in the late 2000s there was a seamstress called talia speaks / jolie chose designs who became well-known because she did tons of plus size commissions; this was back when brands were smaller and there weren't really taobao or indie brands to serve that market, so despite the sometimes-questionable quality of her pieces, and her sort of weird personality and perma-ita status, she was very popular. at the height of her popularity, she created a website that served as a feedback database for the comm sales. it was extremely helpful.

over time, she became less well-liked, both from a personality perspective and a garment quality perspective, and people started speaking out more and more about the issues that they'd had when working with her. she had really thin skin, freaked out, and flounced, taking the whole feedback database with her.

people were able to scrounge up some of the feedback from the site somehow and create the livejournal comm eglfeedback, which served the same purpose but was less user-friendly. it bridged the gap though while the comm at large moved to lacemarket. meanwhile talia made a couple blogs over the next couple years that were mostly made up videos of her ranting in her car. then she disappeared completely

I feel like I still see that one girl that got into lolita/cosplay that had the fucked up face/disorder and teeth. I forget her name, but she was reposted here all the time. The girl I've seen post on insta looks exactly like her, but just keeps her mouth closed now and sometimes seems like she can control her muscle disorder.

I liked Chokelate personally, I had conversations with her about getting into her business to begin with. I may or may not have been the one who was like "yeah just contract with a factory." But w/e. I think the issue is that dealing with China is inconsistent and they cut you out easily.

Tinychat egl was a fun place. I popped into the tinychat for cgl sometimes, but it was kind of a dumpster fire with all the fucking Tripfags attention whoring. I personally never liked a lot of the tripfags for cosplay on the board, back when.

A while back I confirmed from a friend (previous mod) that Miyu got janitor from brown nosing Moot. 100% proved the entire time she was just self posting on cgl.

I also may or may not have exposed some autist in my community for shitting on a well known lolita as well on this board. I ended up spilling the beans to them in person at a meet that the girl was slandering our community + the particular girl all the time. I feel nothing. I thought the girls in my community were cool as hecc. Not only shared lolita, but interest in horror / gaming, so. You know. I had a hard time keeping that a secret between me and my mod friend. I guess I don't care now and he's also not a mod any longer.

Vivcore's random withdrawal from all the subcultures she participated in is so weird to me. She made such a big deal of it, with the forum and its strict rules, all those tutorials, etc.

She was building her own "1950s/retro lifestyle" brand, on top of the lolita stuff. Shut down the shop temporarily during a move, then just... never came back.

Last I saw, she started making pole dancer outfits and was working as a pole dancer. Not a "seedy strip bar" one, but the "fancy outfits attempting to cash in on burlesque" style dancers.

Anyone remember the drama surrounding LolitaSnap and the mods migrating to Himitsunoniwa or whatever? The owner of the site for LolitaSnap was a tranny and butt heads quite a bit with the mods. The mods couldn't handle all the Itas and drama then migrated to an invite only website for "higher quality" lolita snaps. One mod in particular, Sadako_Strikes was quite insufferable with her banters on LJ surrounding drama on LolitaSnap. Does anyone remember these sites?

One of my friends had one of her "Versailles" pieces for a while before swapping it.
