This is gonna sound weird but the absolute chaos of noise. I have sensory processing issues, so cons helped me to challenge my threshold in a safe (kek safe....) environment.

Then of course the food, raves (earplugs= enjoyment) and overpriced dealer's room....

God damn do I miss being able to talk about nerdy/weeb shit enthusiastically and generally acting like a sperg. Getting horrendously drunk Fri & Sat was also super fun, haven't been drunk since Katsu last year.
Have an office job with a bunch of normalfags and it's genuinely starting to feel soulless now that covid killed a lot of my social hobbies.

Cons were my excuse to travel and splurge. Got a big ass promotion at the beginning of 2020 and was gonna live it up like a boss at several cons to celebrate it until covid 19 said NOPE.

I miss just being in a social environment with people who enjoy the same thing as me, and going to the dealer’s room and finding merch for things I like, even if it is overpriced.

I miss having a space where i could just hang around with friends. COVID really took that away in general but i specifically miss doing it at cons because we could checkout panels and report back to each other about how they were. It felt like the conversation never got awkward and the consuite rice never stopped flowing in those halcyon days.

Cosplaying and talking to people about cosplay, swapping build tips, LARPing and goofing around with people cosplaying characters from the same show, photoshoots, etc etc.

I graduated last May, got a job last year, and my post-college plans were to spend my vacay days traveling and going to cons up and down the East coast. Then, COVID hit, and now I'm just coasting and basically waiting for shit to open up eventually. It's a monumental bummer. Not having a con to look forward to is also putting a damper on my desire to work on cosplays as well.

I miss cosplay masquerades (minus the recent influx of LoveLive dance skits). They were usually the highlight of my cons both as a participant and a spectator. It was fun seeing the creativity of the costumes and skits on display.
