Please forgive the complete noob question, but I just started bidding on an auction on LM (I have only bought as is so far, never auctioned) and I noticed that every time I bid, the other bidder automatically bids $1 above my previous bid. I'm about 99% that this is some sort of bot because when the page refreshes after my bid, it has their name with + $1 to the auction.

I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone can react to a bid like that so fast. But anyway, I was wondering is it normal to have bots on LM to bid for you? I know it's a thing in the sneaker market and such.

Auction systems usually work on a max big system. They have a max bid submitted that is higher than yours so it’ll automatically go +$1 more than yours until you reach their max bid. Ex. Auction starts at $5. They max bid $20 so it’ll appear as $6. No one else bids they get it for $6. If you bid $7 it’ll auto bid for them $8 and keep doing that until you give up or it reaches their $20 cap. If you surpass this max bid it’s now $21 and you’re the highest bidder.

I think being passively anxious when thinking about the likelihood of an extremely emotionally distressing situation isn't that crazy. That's why I said I'd be afraid to have a public presence, because it would be really upsetting and something I want to avoid. I don't buy AATP, but these measurements are too big for me. VM's measurements tend to be a tad smaller and with better construction for people with smaller frames. Sometimes it's not only about the measurement itself, but the cut and way it fits around your body type. Bodice lenght, skirt lenght and waist height for example makes the whole difference when finding a dress that not only allows you to enter it, but also fits.

My guess is it will be back around April. JP post published its new shipping rates and noted they intend to increase US rates specifically. They said that shipping to the states is too expensive right now and they need the rate change, which is probably why they won’t resume US shipping. I haven’t worn lolita for a very long time. I’m thinking about selling off most of my wardrobe. Have a lot of dream dresses I have never worn that just sit in my closet. I’ve been afraid to sell these items for the very off chance that one day I will want to wear them. Things like magical etoile, sheeps garden, gingham strawberry etc. older prints. And a lot of generic filler items that will sell cheap but likely be more expensive to replace if I ever got back into the fashion. Also items like shoes, accessories... I never wear these items but I keep holding on to them just in case.
Has anyone ever sold off the majority of their wardrobe and how did it work out for you. I’m worried that I’ll sell these items and never be able to find them again if I do want them. Also, every day they sit in my wardrobe I worry about moths, mold, etc. So I don’t want to keep them but am afraid to sell. I’m only planning to keep a few pieces that I love and have never seen anyone else own which would make them very hard to replace.

I was super active in lolita during the early 2010’s and managed to accumulate a very nice wardrobe consisting of mainly Moitie pieces. Then I dropped lolita for many years but kept almost all of my clothes. During 2020 I got back into lolita and I’m so glad I didn’t sell my Moitie since their older items are either expensive as hell or completely nonexistant on the second hand market.
