I'm feeling this, I'm 28 but gonna be 30 by the time cons open up again. I've said this in an other thread but I think you have to start contributing to convention culture in some way. Join staff, host panels, run security, host parties etc.
I've done all of these things in the past few years, you'll make friends.
Also, get a professional to make a cosplay for you, You should have the money at your age. Something that you want to wear for the next few years. I used the costume design department at the university I attended.
Not BHA or Demon Slayer or some flavor of the month shit, something that will have lasting recognition.
You can make tons of friends if you become recognizable as "that really good ______ cosplayer".
Don't become the "(insert city) batman, superman, spiderman" it's fucking cringe.
Don't be creepy.
I know people in their 40's who follow these rules and have great con lives. And I know people who try to recapture their teen years who are on every con ban list in my region.
We're old now anon, but its not the end.
