I think the issue anon has is not that there aren’t resources for newbies but that there aren’t any that are as easily accessible and normie friendly as lor. A lot of people’s first exposure to lolita is her so they already see her as an authority on lolita before they’ve even decided they want to wear the fashion. Most people don’t want someone to hold their hand through discord. They want some shit they can read and maybe a community to lurk. It's fairly subpar. The sewing looks strong, but it's the design that's pretty underwhelming. Having sewing skills doesn't make up for shitty design. The ribbon is not cute imo, the buttons look bad quality and none of the laces match, which can work but it doesn't work in this dress. Not OP, but I think there's just enough wrong with this to qualify it for the thread. Wearing rabbit ears with Holy Lantern (I'm not a militant hater of animal ears in coords as long as they're well-made and match thematically in the coord, but this fails in the latter category), the awkward lampshade poof, the normie jacket, the cheap-looking necklace, and her nails are uneven and look poorly painted. Her lipstick also could have done with a reapplication before taking a photo. I could forgive it if there was just one thing wrong but there's several things that just make it off. I notice her coords tend to be that way - there's always something just slightly off.
