I think people should just cosplay who they want, ugly or not, same ethnicity or not. And before people bring up skin color, as long as you aren’t being malicious with it, it’s fine. Whoopi Goldberg approved that anyone who wasn’t black could cosplay as her character and even color their skin brown if so. As a black person myself, I don’t care if some white chick wants to go as Vixen, Storm, Michiko, or that one new darker skinned Pokémon trainer. There’s a difference between cosplaying for accuracy and because you want to. I may not like fat people cosplaying as skinny characters, but I’m not making a compare and contrast collage and writing out 2 paragraphs on that

This dude realizes all the Asian cosplayers he's posting are photoshopped to hell, right? Asian or Western, no one has the tiny pointed chin, big anime eyes, perfectly straight point nose, or crystal clear white skin that the characters they're cosplaying do. It's all makeup and photoshop, literally all of it. The only real difference between Asian cosplay photos and Western is that there's tons more Asian cosplayers so the chances of finding really high quality photos is higher, and they're much more accepting (expecting, even) of Photoshop to achieve the right look whereas Western society praises a natural look and shames really obvious photoshop.
