Fascinating irony.

Sound association could be a thing, based on language consideration. For example, in cars, Toyota/Honda/Mazda are more likely to be refered to as "she" because of the final "a" characteristic to female names (Anna, Elena, Maria etc). Audi/VW/BMW are regarded as masculine due to the sonority of name. But Lexus and Maserati are butch femme and nobody can convince me otherwise.
A "dress" is associated with the female gender, so I guess by polarity it becames a "she" in familiar speech.

Does anyone else have a tough time buying certain pieces for your wardrobe because you're so picky? I rarely find blouses that I like and it's driving me nuts. I can't survive on only having 4 basic blouses anymore, especially now that I have a job where I can be a daily lolita.

I'm picky about most of stuff. I have separate wishlist for accessories that I want to be exact + I keep in mind some blouses, cardis and also prints that I specifically care to have matching legwear. Sometimes I do consider alternatives, but it bothers me that I may end up spending money and stay unsatisfied. The most annoying is that I still can't get myself lolita shoes because everything I see so far is either too basic, or uncomfortiable, or too flat, or too expensive (I really love brand designs, but idk).

I scoured the Taobao store I bought one of my favorite blouses from and found out that they remade the blouse, so I'm gonna buy a few in different colors to stock up! I also recently got a new sewing machine, so I'll probably start making my own blouses as well.

I feel the exact same way about blouses as you do about shoes. I want my wardrobe to look more vintage (think Fanny Rosie's) than outright lolita, so everything I find is too ott, would be unflattering, or has details that I don't like. These anons are right. My tastes have changed and gone in circles time and time again, but I'm glad I never bought everything I saw and liked when I was 16 and just getting into the fashion because nothing would ever get touched. Even though back then I felt bad for not having a huge wardrobe or a lot of prints, the things that have stayed in my wardrobe on constant rotation are my blouses, outerwear, hair accessories and the like and I'm always on the hunt for more stuff to pad out my wardrobe.

When I buy new blouses, jackets and legwear I often come up with whole new coords for some of my oldest main pieces, because I suddenly have all these ideas for different colour combos and silhouettes. It's not about having a huge amount of dresses and skirts right off the bat, it's about getting versatility out of what you do have. Most of the girls who have huge wardrobes have been wearing the fashion and buying dresses for over a decade.

It's also really unlikely that you'll find a huge amount of things readily available that a.you can afford all at once, and b.you actually like and aren't just buying because it's available/cheap/someone else wore it/whatever other reason that will result in a piece sitting in the back of your wardrobe. It's easier to build up little by little rather than committing to having a huge amount of dresses you can't even coordinate.

I paid straight away, they bought it less than an hour later but it was during business hours.

The annoying thing is that they don't actually send emails to tell you that they've bought the items, you have to keep checking your order status on their website. The next email notification you get is when the stuff gets to their warehouse. This was back in January this year though, so maybe they've improved but from the sounds of how long it takes them to "check" probably not.

It'd depend on what time you pay, and then if they miscalculate the shipping or anything they refund your 'wallet' and you have to add more funds before they go through with the purchase so that takes more time, especially if your time zone is far apart. If you complete your payments during their business hours they're not too bad, but otherwise they're not great.

I'm really interested/excited about the prospect of a 3 day lolita convention and am seriously considering spending the 2k to fly over specifically for it. I don't know anything about the organisers though, and their Instagram has very low quality images for a group claiming to want to to put on a 3 day convention. It just doesn't look professional.

Way back in the days of egl comm sales I once spent about two weeks photographing a pile of things, factchecking, typing up descriptions, formatting and then finally listing about ~15 items for sale. Was kinda annoying to be honest. So I can see why someone would rather just photograph and list one or five items per week on lace market.

Lol that's me. Definitely haven't been posting things on the daily and definitely not a scalper. Just trying to make room and be less of a hoarder. Taking photos and what not takes time and I'm doing it slowly for a number of reasons. Mostly that I'm not in a hurry and I am coming to terms with what I want to part with.
