I love this look so much, everything about it. I'm not sure why some lolitas are so against corsets in the fashion. Yes, historically they would have been ’not seen, only underwear’ but we are not historical re-enacters or even doing a history LARP, so I'm not sure shy it is a problem. Bloomers (drawers really) are also in that category and we have the ’peeking bloomers’ trend, and also same for cage skirt worn above a skirt or bloomers, we have that as something that is sometimes seen too. Same for corsets in lolita fashion. As long as they are not revealing and follow the rules, they should be fine. Some attempts at Ero Lolita using them seem a little questionable (too bare, no blouse, corset won't as bustier etc), but something like this pic is really good lolita styling.

I have not, but I do watch some of Lucy’s reviews and info videos too. She is not actively waist training anymore due to a couple of injuries so she's not as dismissive of off the rack corsets as she used to be, (which is great for me as just a fashion enthusiast with interest in corsets for shaping and back support but very little interest in waist training or tight lacing)...and she said she's going to be reviewing more budget corset styles (under US$100) this year so I'm looking forward to that. I loved the fan laced underbust model that she reviewed from corset deal but they unfortunately do not have it anymore, only overbust models with that lacing style.

I'm not sure I would ever get something custom but then I don't lace tight and I don't have trouble getting good back support and a nice curve with a bit of reduction from standard sized steel-boned corsets.

It is a functional fan lacing which takes special hardware and straps built in when the corset is made. Some corsets can have decorative fan lacing like this on top so you could maybe buy the fan lacing hardware and some straps and sew them in, but you will still have to use an unobtrusive type of utility lacing of ribbon underneath to functionally close the corset and hold your shape.

Maybe try a single spiral lacing as the closure method, then install a second more decorative lacing in the fan lacing apparatus over it. I can see that this method might have a potential to give this look.
