It's cotton jersey fabric. Tons of brand level dresses are made from this, super comfy for a low key date. I will say though that yes it clings weirdly and a slip would probably do you good.

And I'm not other anon, but it depends what styles you're into. Visual Kei seems to work very well with effeminate male bodies. I personally love the stylings of the Versailles band, but they may be a bit ott for everyday clothing

I am into it, but it's very rare in my opinion to find men who are actually effeminate. It's a question of facial features really more so than body type, and the vast majority of western men do not have facial features that are effeminate enough to pull most alternative styles off. If that's your thing though, any type of romantic goth/aristocrat/Victorian type clothing works really well. Moitie and Boz do men's clothing occasionally, I know F+F does as well but their quality isn't as high.
