Honestly it just depends on the person. Some like to add a ton of embellishments like flowers, bows, lace etc and some just like to overload the window for a full clustered look. There's also the type that uses repetitive merch for a more uniformed bag. I'd say just play around it until you find something you like. Honestly I think its because anime tends to attract a younger crowd, the most vocal ones are teens or early twenties who have no money and thus can only afford a bag from ebay, pins from hot topic, and bootleg straps, for a total of 3-5 items in their bags, drowned out by lace, fairylights and rhinestones.
They all group together and gush over each others' bags despite the quality because finding other anime fans is still new to them and they are desperate to talk about it with anyone.

Terra anon here, long time lurker. I finally gathered enough merch to put my second bag together, but I'm not really confident with my layout. Yes it still lacks an insert, I think I'll go with plain black neutral fabric since Terra's merch is all so colorful, but ideas are welcome. Layout wise, its a bit bottom heavy, I would move the figures to the top corners and then scoot the cards in more so they aren't covered.

As for the insert, since Terra is so colorful, I think the black background is a bit too harsh. I think perhaps a green that's a different color than her hair color and has a simple pattern (polka dots maybe) would make a good background but not take distract from the pieces.

The Itabag Showcase group was a good idea at the time given the climate. The main group was heavily defending their "everything is an itabag if you call it one" ideas and people got sick of it and wanted to have a place to post their bags where they could get concrit that wasn't "This needs more fairy lights" or "Have you seen this ebay listing for fanart straps?"

Just since the quality for Itabag Showcase is higher, people use it to post their finished bags so there's not much in the way of daily usage.

Probably outing myself but I got added to the group staff but I've not actually spoken to any of the other staff since the group got created so I don't know if any of them are active. The group still gets applications to join, both from seagulls and random other itabag makers.

If possible, I'd like to try and set up some stuff in Itabag Showcase to make it a little more daily use friendly? Designated threads for merch hauls, WIP, question areas for bag or shopping related things, etc.

To anyone in the group currently does that sound good to you all? Like I said I don't know if the group owner is still active (or if anyone else is) but I wouldn't mind trying to set these little things up to help make the group more active on a regular basis instead of the way it is now where people don't really feel comfortable posting unless it's a finished product.

At the moment it looks like its got more women fans because the anime came out in english and fujos needed to fill the void where Yuri on Ice once was, but they are a vocal minority. Same thing happened with Yowamushi Pedal a few years back.

Yuri on Ice however IS the exact definition of fujo-bait. Shamefully so.

I legitimately have no clue where you get the idea that majority of its doujins are appealed to men. If you do quick searches on Toranoana on its main site and its Joshibu site, you will see that there are thousands of women-oriented doujinshi compared to less than a hundred that appeals to men. Hell, go on Surugaya's doujinshi section. Search with show sold out items and show both general and adult items, the numbers will tell you that there are over 3,000 women-oriented doujinshi compared to 98 doujinshi for men.

BNHA might be picked up at a local book store by boys, but its most loyal and dedicated fans, fans who will actually buy merchandise and attend cafe collaborations, fans with actual purchasing power that companies can profit from, will always be women. Maybe women are a vocal minority, but they're a vocal minority who show their loyalty in public attendance and the money they spend.

Perhaps it was wrong for me to assume that you would understand that when I said there are more doujin for men than women I meant adult doujins.

Like I said, right now it is the new popular thing that women/girls are buying. But thats right now. And really, keychains and posters and special events are not where the majority of money is made, is the advertisements that are shown during episodes/in magazines. A fuckton of girls buying pins of their favorite characters is just a nice bonus chunk of money.

Women liking shows doesn't make them fujobait shows.

Shonen series are primarily targeted at preteen/teenage buys, but they have ALWAYS had a strong secondary demographic with women in their 30s. The author of One Piece talked about it in interview almost ten years ago. That doesn't change the target demographic. That doesn't change the CONTENT of the show.

Fujoshi is not synonymous with female otaku, and fujobait does not mean any show that women watch. "Fujo-ness" is measured in male/male fanservice directed towards the female gaze. It's not a fucking difficult concept to understand.
