Keep it /cgl/-related! Cosplay or J-fashion like Lolita/Brolita, Aristocrat, Nanchatte, etc.!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

ITT you may post:
- Useful guides that can be applied to crossplaying/crossdressing
- Questions, help, sharing advice to improve your appearance to pass temporary as the opposite gender (Male -> Female, Female -> Male)
- pictures of crossplay/crossdressing coords, selfposts
- personal experience/stories regarding crossplay/crossdressing

NOT allowed:
- Anything in sexual context/fetish stuff
- Anything related to gender transition like hormones, operation etc.; >>>/lgbt/ might be the better place for this
- Casual crossdressing without any /cgl/-context
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can still post any additions to it in the thread, and I'll add them once the new version is up.

This thread is a dumping ground for insecure soyboys who shitpost in /lgbt/ anyway. I'd rather they post their ugly selfies and bulge pics on discord rather than shit up our board.

Love how mtf-centered these threads always are and how ftm cosplayers rarely ever get replies over the, "d-do I look like a cute girl, cgl?" posts there are.

Probably because there are more men browsing and interesting in appearing feminine than girls wanting to appear like (feminine) men. I'd rather ask questions here than on a discord because that program is a cancer circlejerk that kills communities, and because I would rather stay anonymous like this website intends you to.

If they do say something and call you a flaming fag, they're not really your friend anyway.

How do I fix the razor burn on my thighs and crotch area? Don't want to post a picture for obvious reasons but I keep getting it. It's not painful, just unsightly. Hydrocortizone helps but it doesn't fix the problem.

I think the outcome would be similar.
What razors are you using? Don't reuse razors, maybe try buying single-use ones with two or three blades, see what works best for you.
I don't think you want to use any shaving gel nor foam anywhere outside of your face. I have actually shaved my face last time without any, just pouring warm water over it constantly, and the effects are just so much better.

These, usually I get 5-7 days of use before the soap runs out. I've also tried using Gillete satin care aloe shave gel with a normal shaver - I use separate blades for my face and legs. I don't think I've ever had razor burn on my face, only down there.

I'm a girl but used to have issue shaving down there too. using oil [like baby oil or coconut oil] or even a cheapo conditioner instead of shaving gel/cream works the best. shave with the hair growth ONLY and usually taking a hot shower or bath or just soaking a washcloth in hot water and laying it over the hair to soften it up helps! just lightly run the razor over the hair. it may take a few strokes of the razor to clear a patch, but you really should trim all hair as short as you can with scissors first, anyway so it shouldn't take much. Just be gentle. Also, make sure to wash the area to get all the conditioner/oil off and pat it dry. Also, wash DAILY and moisturize after drying off. This has prevented almost all ingrown hairs/razor burn for me since I've started doing it.

For now though, just make sure to keep the area clean and moisturized until it goes away. it sucks, but it'll heal eventually.

Professional laser like the ones used at beauty salons/clinics are at least $2000.
The thing you can buy at store for home use at around $100 are IPL, not laser, often cannot be used on beard, and are not permanent.
The laser is also much more dangerous, and I wouldn't dare to do it on your own on the face, or just anywhere near eyes.

You're not gonna get it right the 1st time/times you do it. Take everything a step at a time and learn to improve On one aspect before you move on. You can also always post pics here and we'll give you advice, which some criticisms will be harsh, but don't take personally. As long as you're willing to make the effort we will help. The stick-on boobs I've seen work best as a filler, unless a part of your cosplay covers up where the top of the boob ends and your skin begins (it might work in keyhole sweater or bra, but not in just a low-cut top)

Switch up for some lean meats and just reduce the carbohydrate intake. Slowly get used to eating vegetables though, they are a great way to pad out your meals without much caloric increase. (Try stir frying with oyster sauce it makes even the weirdest vegetables taste good) An added benefit of vegetables is that it helps you smell less offensive with the increased protein in your diet.

I've also been on a weight loss regime for crossplay and mamaged to drop from 78kilos to 71. Trying to push it down to 65 but slow steps I guess. Wouldn't want to crash diet and have to deal with loose skin and stretch marks.

Contouring is hell. Made worse if the lightest shade you can get still looks ridiculously dark on your white-pale skin. Not really sure how I'm gonna change how my face looks with how much I've tried and failed to use. Skin's clear enough that I look decent enough with just foundation shadow mask and two tones of BB cream for rudimentary contour, but it's not -convincing-. Nayrt, vut heres' the (a bit lenghy, but bear with me) Wikipedia definition:
Cosplay (コスプレ kosupure), a contraction of the words costume play, is a hobby in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character.[1] Cosplayers often interact to create a subculture, and a broader use of the term "cosplay" applies to any costumed role-playing in venues apart from the stage.

So yes, the "play" part is pretty much right there in the name. That said, you obviously don't have to do it, just don't be an asshole about it if others don't want to shatter the illusion every time someone asks them for a picture.

I'm trying to decide between 2 fake breast forms.

This one is cheaper, but I'm reading that it's incredibly easy to see where the forms end if you're wanting cleavage
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019MIHSF0/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1

This one is getting better reviews, but it's damn near $80
https://www.amazon.com/Feminique-Breast-Forms-Crossdresser-Mastectomy/dp/B015YPXJLC/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Take any proceeding opinions (as in, not straight facts) with a grain of salt due to myself not having bought any of these and basing said opinions on lots of hours of research looking into it.
If your goal is to make cleavage, the multi-padded bra + squeezing what you have to work with method is far superior. Both of the forms you have there are going to have very obvious seam lines where the bag the silicone is in is sealed (http://feminiquebreastforms.com/shop/breast-forms-sizes-11-12-13/).). These seem to be meant more for exclusively under clothing. The reason the cheaper one is cheaper is it straight has half the silicone in it. Cup sizes are useless without band sizes, hence why both are "D" but wildly different in size.
From what I can find, these are around the cheapest you're going to get at this size, they only get more expensive from here, with anything genuinely creating a believable illusion Tear drop forms look terrible any way, they don't look anything like real breasts, and I don't quit get why they're still as popular as they are. Boobs (natural ones anyway) typically don't go straight out like that at that size, they usually droop to the sides a bit, being pulled down and around the rib cage. Plus there's a flow from the armpit / clavicle area that teardrop forms don't replicate at all. I've been looking into getting these (https://www.amazon.com/ENVY-BODY-SHOP-Essential-Asymmetrical/dp/B01EBR6TM0)) in 3XL (Not in the amazon listing, have to order from their shop.) for exactly all the reasons I said the teardrop ones have problems. I'm not intending to have these be seen though, so these might not work for you if you really want cleavage.

I'm actually not familiar with the the Multi-pad + Squeezing method. What is that?

Also my idea was buying one of those forms and try to contour the chest so I can possibly blend the ends closer to my skin. My cosplay (Valentine) practically has half her boobs sticking out and that's gonna be tough. If I can't figure this out I thought about cheating a little and getting one of these chest covers, but cut it to make it smaller so it gives it a window of cleavage (like those sweaters that were popular for a short period of time) without it showing the entire boob (and the obvious ends in the form).

Multi-pad + Squeezing method, with those strapless stick on bras (stuck on with the clasps facing 🡖 🡗 and spaced far apart on on chest) you squeeze your own flesh together, then get a few of those bras that up the cup size and keep layering them until you get the size you want.

For valentine, yea that's gonna be annoying. Doing a quick google search, it seems like most cosplayers really under-do the cleavage amount. I'd recommend pic related to really do it justice.

Firstly, >>9786684 is right. Most of the time, the makings of a good cosplay comes from enthusiasm more than anything else. That said, I know as well as anyone thinking you can do a cosplay well helps build enthusiasm. So, let's break this question down and see what barriers MTF crossplayers can face and what costume traits solve them.

If you suffer from < > then try:
Excessive hairiness- fully body covering outfits OR you could try a flesh-tone skin suit.
Large Adam's Apple-Something that covers the neck region, though it doesn't need to be big. Even something like a choker can break up the outline.
Broad Shoulders-There are a few solutions, such as an outfit that makes your shoulders seem less significant (think 'Wide') or to make people think they're supposed to look big (think pauldrons)
Bulge-....You know what the problem is here. Either tuck/dance belt, or just don't wear something that shows off your crotch. So long as you're smart about it, most skirt or trouser outfits can be worn with only minimal rearrangement.
Figure-This isn't usually too much of a problem. Many guys will be adding rather than subtracting, so if you're stuffing a bra or something, all you really want is someone with an outfit that covers wherever you're lacking. If you're not using anything, then pick someone who has decorations or something around your problem area (eg. Sailor Moon has a big bow at her chest, puffy skirts cover for lack of hips, etc).
Manly face-I know a lot of guys get really self-conscious about this. Hell, I do and I can actually pull off 'androgynous'. If you've tried shaving, plucking eyebrows and wearing makeup and you still have this problem, then your choices are a) Be brave or b) wear a helmet/hood/veil. You'd be surprised how many
good options for this there are though.

Okay, so we've got our criteria. If people can think of characters that match any of the above, feel free to mention them. I'll list, but I'm running out of space and sleep.

-Full-body outfits: There are tons of these. These can include characters with jumpsuit-type clothes (80's April O'Neil, Zero Suit Samus, Power Rangers, D.Va, many superheros, etc) to any character who wears clothes that cover a lot (Tracer, any character who dresses for the cold, most characters who wear armour and many more).
Neck covering-Anyone with a high collar, Moka (Rosario to Vampire), Blue Rose (Tiger & Bunny)
Broad Shoulders-Once again, most female armoured characters. I seem to recall a number of Magical Girl characters sometimes have overly decorated sleeves as well.
Helmet/Hood/Veil/Mask-Celty from Durara (pictured above, Lancer Artoria Alter from FGO, MCU Wasp, Tali from Mass Effect, some characters with large hoods (eg. Raven from Teen Titans), Gwyndolin from Dark Souls.

....No, wait. Scratch that last one.
