Ruined a brand dress? Lost a package in the mail once?? Got harassed on the street or at a con? Did something embarrassing happened to you at a meet once? Share your worst lolita experiences here!

>> No.9587411

My dress got shipped to Kentucky and I got a pair of sunglasses instead. The labels got swapped apparently so I couldn't even get help from USPS since they were technically delivered to the right place. I did end up getting the dress in the end but it was through no help of the post or the seller.

>> No.9587424

Got followed around, verbally threatened and filmed by a bunch of guys on my way to a meet, dozens of bystanders but nobody said a thing, then when I told girls at the meet about it and described the guys (because they asked me to) a few girls implied I was racist and purposefully misunderstanding a cultural difference to suit my "agenda". That was a fun day.

The verbal harassment and apathetic bystanders is pretty common in my city unfortunately, but I definitely wasn't expecting other lolitas to side with the men yelling that they were going to "fuck me back to normal". Not all of them, thank Mana, but enough to ruin the meet for me.

My very first meet, VM 2009 dress I got second hand. See the waiter wobbling toward our table with an iced tea pitcher that was way overfilled, almost spilling as he walked. Know he's gonna spill it on me, move to decline a refill, would rather thirst. He pours the tea all over the table and all over the left side of my skirt. Other girls are safe. Try not to cry. Tell other girls I'll be ok. Subtle guilt the guy while he stands there that this is my first dress and that he should know not to try to side pour with a pitcher that full. Give the waiter death glares reast of time and no tip.
It washed out ok cause luckily cold tea and off white lace and floral print, but seriously fuck that guy. Sometimes i wonder if he did it on purpose.

>> No.9587506

I posted here back when it happened, but for my theatre group we had a day where we brought an item that represented us. I wanted to take one of my skirts, and stupidly put it in one of the large pockets in my messenger bag. Unbeknownst to me, there was an open red marker that proceeded to stain my skirt in four or five places, and the stains have never come out. I showed off some Broadway merchandise instead, and was depressed for a week. RIP, Alice's Mirage in PARADOX...

He seems like he might have been new. Overfilling the pitcher is a common newbie mistake. Yes, he messed up, but everyone makes mistakes. Have you never accidentally spilled anything? As a waitress who's slipped during my first week and spilled wine, I empathize with him. The couple I spilled the wine on were very nice and understanding, but I beat myself up over it for weeks.

So I've been working at a waitress as part time job and what I'd have done in her place in that situation/or what I'd have expected would be: a free drink and the restaurant/cafe/whatever offering to pay for the cleaning. That's it.

One has the right to be angry about stuff like that, because it can ruin a whole day, yet one shouldn't get unnecessarly rude as a waiter is probably also just a person who idk wants to pay off his student loan, safes up for sth or whatever. Sage for OT

Just because you seem slow, I'll lay it out in an example for you: Competant Bob is a waiter, his shift is 4 hours long and spans 5pm to 7pm, known as the "dinner shift". During this shift, Competant Bob handles 6 seperate tables seating 4-6 people. Due to the price of food at Bob's restauraunt, a dinner for 4-6 will cost between $100 and $150. Social pressure has determined that to be considered non-deadbeats, you must tip 15% of the total bill.

How much will Competant Bob make in tips in one shift? How much will his lazier and less compentant co-worker, Shithead Ted, make in tips he fucks up half of his tables in his shift?

Are you ready? Let's get calculating, slow children!
