My 100% beef with "boudoir" is that they're often characters that aren't even that sexual instead of characters that would actually fit those photoshoots. And secondly, the photoshoots don't even try to be sensual or artistic, it's always just a slut in a bikini and a wig sticking her ass out. It's so fucking trashy and lazy.

I'm fine with some T&A, just at least have it be true to character. Men will fap to basically anything, but I feel you'd go numb to the bland appreciation after a while. It must be sad to look back and see nothing you can be proud of artistically.

But so many shoots do the same generic sultry poses and expressions that don't fit the character much of the time. There's no personality, energy, or soul in the photos, and that's just depressing to me. Like there's so much potential for actual cute fanservice, but instead you get mediocre crap cause it's easy and people will buy the prints anyway as long as there's tits and ass

See I think misty on the beach in a non sexual manner and acting more innocent and playful in range with her personality is more acceptable. Dva being a gamer and all playing a game in her underwear is something that could happen. As much as I hate the boudoir fad, if you do it with the characters personality and actions in mind, I can't get upset.
I know cosplay porn is a thing/fetish and that's fine because theres porn for everything. What im not okay with is cosplayers making soft core boudoir mainstream by everyone acting like it isn't borderline porn so they can get some cash and keep their 'reputation' in tact by not taking pyschically dick. Thanks for this. I have a pretty severe astigmatism, and to buy contacts that would actually fit my eyes and allow me to see would run me about $50-60/pair, and each pair takes about two months to make. To do that for every character I cosplay with a different eye color just for the sake of accuracy isn't worth it to me, but people make it seem like I'm a lesser cosplayer for it.

People cosplaying body paint characters and thinking they're "too good" or whatever for the body paint tutorials, guides, brand rundowns, and tips that especially Homestuck cosplayers compiled for years and years.

Next person who ask about body paint in a general cosplay group without as much as having googled the options beforehand I will recommend latex paint to.

Circle lenses look terrible on anyone, it's worse on any character who's supposed to look a day over 14.

Unpressed seams are definitely visible on the outside by way of puckering and weird puffiness. Areas with crossing seams, like the underarm, also tend to look awkward if one seam wasn't pressed before the second was sewn. It makes it super obvious that a piece of clothing is handmade. Pressing your seams is sewing 101 if you want your stuff to look decent.
