I don't know who posted me to this thread but I can promise you it wasn't a selfpost, I was asleep.
While I tagged the first outfit as Dolly kei, the tumblr post clearly says it's because I was unsure what else to tag the outfit as. I certainly didn't put these outfits together to be dolly or cult party kei or anything. I'm sure it's known by some gulls that I sometimes lurk here which is why I'm replying now.

Eh I live in a Western European country but it's not like people my age actually have access to our national traditional folk dress. It has almost completely died out and younger generations don't even know what it looked like. It's nothing like Japan and kimono.
Maybe other countries are different but here, unless someone is devoted enough to seek out the last national dress-wearing 95-year-old lady living in a tiny rural village in Bumfuck Nowhere to raid her wardrobe, it's really no easier for us Yuropoors to build a dolly wardrobe than it is for Japanese or American girls.

North European here, and while the national clothing is not dead it's hard to obtain. It can easily cost over 1000€ if you make it yourself and more if you buy it. Some of the fabrics are apparently hard to find also. While the dress is cool af, it's not dolly or suitable to any j-fashion. The outfit doesn't even have any accessories etc.
