So stoked to see everyone's coords. Interested in all the vendors, but it's pretty cool that they got Lolita Collective to come out.

This will be my first OTTea, and only my third ever coord. I'm really nervous about it. I'm going with a themed coord that I know is overdone, but it kind of lets me explore coordinating more without fear of fucking it up too badly. Seeing as this is my first kne ever, what can I expect? Is everyone pretty punctual or is it more of a people wandering in and out type of thing? Are people in this comm nice? Do you get ignored if you have a simpler type of coord? Sorry for the silly questions, just feeling a little anxious.

Just have confidence in what you're wearing and go for it. You should have no problem making friends if you're social. If your Coord is simple, you will be ignored, though. So make the effort to socialize with other people.

This is also my first OTT, but I've been going to comm events for the last year or so and know some of the comm regulars who'll be going! Most people are nice and receptive if you approach them in a friendly and personable manner. Lots of people are pretty easy to talk to, especially if you can find some sort of common ground. I get the feeling that, in addition to dressing up ridiculously fancy, people enjoy this event as a socializing venue, and the outfits help as kind of an ice-breaker.

Some girls are on the quiet/shy side, so don't take it personally if they're not like super engaged or talkative toyou.

There were a lot of simple coords last year, and it sounded like a lot of people just wore full sets, which is fine! Ironically, I feel like the only major criticisms I saw were for the Valkyrie coord, which some people felt was too costumey, and the decora coord, which some people felt was not appropriate for the event.

I'm really excited that it's bringing out people from all over, because I'll have a chance to meet some long distance friends.

I'm doing a simple-ish mourning theme since I'm not really in the habit of doing OTT, but it'll hopefully be just fancy enough.

If it was decora lolita, I would've been all over it. I was never a sweet person but I absolutely adored decora lolita.
And yea like the other anon said, it was full on decora with no lolita elements whatsoever. He was a photographer so I guess it was ok, but his excuse was that he couldn't get a lolita coord together in time. He could've done a decora lolita coord and no one would've cared but instead he chose to show up in street style decora to a lolita specific event.

Just got back. I'd definitely say the overall quality of the coords was significantly higher this year. Everyone really brought their A-game!

I was just expecting a lot more. Everyone did look like they had fun, I enjoyed myself too, but for an OTT party, I just expected better. In terms of tea service, and actual things to do within the party. Overall, it just felt like a hyped up costume contest.

I had a great time. Tea service was fine/above average. Prizes for raffle were awesome and plentiful. Dealers were great/coords were beautiful. Are you salty over something?

I had a really good experience overall. It's a tea party, not a convention. I didn't expect activities, I expected socializing and food, which is what I got.

There were only a few things I would improve. My one main concern was dietary restrictions. I emailed beforehand, as most people did, about mine and for some reason I guess they asked people to raise their hands before tea (I wasn't there at the beginning since I was outside in line for photos) if they had any dietary restrictions. The other vegetarian girl at my table was brought a plate they claimed was "vegetarian" but clearly had meat in it. She informed them it had meat, and it turned out it was actually gluten-free, which was confusing as fuck. It turned out the only options for sandwiches were the cucumber sandwiches and strawberry sandwiches, which we got extra plates of but weren't really filling. Also, they're not vegan so I guess if you happened to be vegan you're just fucked. It turned out there were supposed to be separate meals for us, but the caterers just didn't have them.

The vendors were great, but I guess I just wish I had known they were only open for before the tea party since I ended up not hearing about it until right before and didn't get the chance to buy anything. I don't know if that's just me being a dumbass though.

The after party was just okay and the drinks were expensive so a lot of us just bailed. I feel like in the future it would be nicer to reserve a real bar just close to the hotel, since the bartender couldn't even make very many drinks.

Other than that, I enjoyed myself a lot. I'm really happy that there's at least one really nice event for our area and just getting to meet people and have the opportunity to dress up made it worth it to me.

I did enjoy the social environment though! I wish there was people who didn't pick food with their fingers after eating a piece of cake or food and just used the tongs instead to pick up their food.

it has the wow factor but it feels like it's too much. beyond the initial "whoa those prosthetics and details!", i find it meh. it's really just her prosthetics and props that make it special. and this is coming from someone who was a cosplayer long before i got into lolita.

2nd place was a solid lolita coord that had the same wow factor, but is still creative, gorgeous, and fits the lolita silhouette too. the theme is obvious and it's clear what aesthetic she's going for even if you look at each piece individually.

No, I agree with you. 2nd place also did all that embroidery work on her dress, dyed her veil and embroidered it, and made all the accessories. My guess is that less people voted for her because there were quite a few other gothic coords at the tea and if your tastes lean towards goth it's completely possible that you might have voted for someone else.

I thought the beading and the overall look of the second coord was gorgeous but a bit generic. I really like that something more weird and less pretty won. It's hard to see, but aside from the prosthetic and ears which are pretty distracting, the winner had a lot of detail and hand made accessories with her look.

Eh I like the gothic coord better because it embodies what we think of lolita fashion: elegant, ornate, lovely to look at, and neatly presented whereas the tooth fairy coord was just a mess of props and prosthetics. I can appreciate the work that went into it though. Making and putting on the toothy prosthetic on her face must've taken forever.

a e s t h e t i c without actually buying the fan-made clothes, and the silhouette is too contemporary to fit into lolita (slouchy, leisurewear pieces). Definitely commend her for trying.

For shiggles, here's my attempt/interpretation of vaporwave into a lolita coord. It's really a mix of fairy-kei, a little bit of menhera (it makes sense if you're involved in vaporwave fan pages), pastel goth, & uchuu-kei.

I don't wear sweet lolita nor can I into OTT coords, but I hope an ita-bag with typical motifs makes up for it. Not sure if I'm feeling the wig and makeup with the coord now, and not sure about the jacket either now that I just saw a cropped cardigan that could have vaporwave themed pins on it.

This was a pain in the ass to put together. I apologize for the weird layout. It's really late where I am, so if it bothers a lot of people, I could rearrange it later.
