There was some fuck up with the staff reservations and now none of them have rooms, I was told this could affect load in because they'll be scrambling to catch up on shit.

It's Youmacon though so it'll probably just be slow or they'll keep it closed so everyone can suck off Morgan and spit his load on the controllers.

Thats because lazy fat fucks kept using the elevators to go up one floor. They have staff now to direct traffic for the elevators so only people who are hand capped, have a room in the hotel or have registered large weapons are alowerd to use them. Personally I love it cause now I can actually get up to my room.

This may not be the best idea, but if any one wants needs a room in the rencen Marriott I have 2 open spots. Unfortunately the two people i was going to be rooming with have had to back out, so i'm currently stuck with a room to my self. The only time I cringed was during the two "bands" opening for Crush 40, especially Survivors of the PC. Slapping at a keytar and having to look at your phone for all your lyrics while a computer plays most of the music is fucking ridiculous. If they were paid by Youmacon, someone must have some friends in high places because that was a truly terrible performance and they didn't deserve to be anywhere near a stage.

This con made me realize that this whole tranny thing is just a big fad. Is this happening at every con now?

Last year there were maybe 20 trannies. This year there were hundreds, and one yelled at me when I said the word "everybody" to a friend. "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT EVERYONE HAS A TRADITIONAL COMFORTABLE RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR BODY!!!" and they ranted at me for a minute. They're exactly the reason I skipped the whole concert, I wanted to see Crush 40 but I didn't wanna burn 2 con hours on shitty bands just for them. So many last minute changes this year like times, rooms, and even buildings getting switched.
A couple panels I went to are usually packed but the printed copy had different info than the online schedule so nobody showed up.

I had that happen. Apparently the print book was inaccurate even though I'm pretty sure those are printed the week of. The home arcade panel was back an hour for some reason, and iirc there was no panel after it so there was literally no reason to change the schedule for it.

Panels every year I've gone have always had something up. I'm glad they are using more cobo space now.

Cosplayed as Venom Snake, which caused all sorts of great interactions with people. Pic related was even retweeted by Kojima. (not my pillow; found someone carrying it so I got a picture with it)

Got engaged to the woman of my dreams in front of all my con friends. She cosplayed with me as Quiet and we were great. Lots of fun every time we ran into other MGS cosplayers.

Made new friends, met up with all my old friends, got engaged, had a blast. Best Youmacon in recent memory. Didn't end up actually going to or hosting any panels this time, but given all the reports about their schedule bullshit I'm glad I didn't bother.

The Marriott was worse than usual, though. Literally waited four hours for a luggage cart on checkout day. They started hanging up on me when I started calling them about it, and I wasn't even being rude. Eventually went down in person, flagged a bellboy down, and he was happy to come get my stuff. Said he was even waiting for them to give him a room to go to. What the fuck? Made me question staying there for future years. I always like to stay in the same hotel a con is at so I can have quick access to my room, but everyone I know who stayed at the Courtyard across the street had absolutely no hassle all weekend and were just a skywalk away from the con. If the price isn't too bad, I think that's what I'm doing next year.

This was my first year doing the artist alley and it paid off really well but ended up losing my badge the first night and had some terrible anxiety attacks throughout the con, which made it really hard to hang out with friends.
Met some really cool people though and saw some old friends so that was nice at least!

Youma was pretty great for me this year. Like it's been the first in a long time without a stupid amount of drama Friday night. The people I roomed with weren't annoying tumblr nerds and were pretty rad, the hotel room was nice and hassle-free since I was at the DoubleTree, the Crush 40 concert was amazing, people loved my cosplay and I loved theirs, and I may have gotten my senpai to notice me~

My main problems this year basically boiled down to money. Had to wait in at-con registration Friday since I was strapped for cash all summer, and didn't really have a lot to spend in the Dealer's Room this year.

Oh and the panels were eh this year. I know the JoJo panel sucked. The Game Room was almost always too busy for me when I was out and about.

6. Not because of the con but for some reason none of us actually wanted to do anything. We would plan panels and then just completely skip them. The nintendo photoshoot sucks and didn't happen and my friend's panel wasn't even listed on the scheudal so everyone was freaking out on if he had one or not. Then I didn't even get drunk at all. Everytime I would start to get a bit buzzed I would just start feeling sick. When to the volt bar too and it was shit. To finally top it all off Greek Town wouldn't let anyone in on friday so I had to park the ren cen. Fucker costed $35 and I didn't have enough money, thank god my friends showed up at the last second and they gave me 5 to get out.

In general I still had fun though. It was nice to get away from everything and be myself for once. Weekend went by waaaaay to fast.

I collapsed in the stairwell while climbing to my hotel room (50 suit of armor). Some guys were coming down and we took the opportunity to re-enact one of the first scenes in Dark Souls.

I spent most of my time eating, at the dealer's room, or preparing for the masquerade. I wanted to go to panels, but I never had any time. I thought this was just a guy cosplaying Ronald McDonald until he handed me a $5 dollar McDonald's gift card.

The masquerade was a fucking blast. All the costumes were top notch and the performances were great. I competed in the craftsmanship judging and got to go on stage. You were required to walk to 3 different spots on the stage and strike a pose. Instead of walking, I decided to do combat rolls between the 3 poses; I had only just figured out how to roll in my armor a few hours earlier. I won best overall craftsmanship. After that, I had dinner with a grill who was in the masquerade and we exchanged contact information.

I also met the gull who wanted to crossplay with someone else but was never able to find anyone.

"The good" It was alot of funthis year, I got butt fucking wasted at my bros awesome suite party, instead of a king size they gave me a double bed for me and my friend which was perfect, my other roommate was a sweetheart and surprised us with breakfast every morning, and I made alot of new friends.

Dealers room kinda sucked this year and there wasn't any figs that were standing out for me to buy.

10/10 most fun ive ever had at youma and ive been going for the past 4 years.
I thin the only panel i went to was Bad sonic fanfiction (which was hilarious and also met a chrischan cosplayer there), then just wandered around the rest of the weekend. Met a ton of people, stepped out of my comfort zone and actually made a ton of new friends.
Got asked out on a date by my crush and now we plan on tabling together at future cons.
