just to keep everyone in the loop: i've transferred a good portion of the style guides onto a tumblr blog. only volume 1 and 2 have been mainly completed. volume 3 is in the works but i'm taking a break for now. it's probably gonna take the longest due to how image-heavy it's going to end up being. let me know what you think!

I love the way you've done the layout. I would possibly suggest making the text on the sidebar ("HOME", "MESSAGES", etc) bold because at the moment it's a bit thin and quite hard to read, especially since it's light pink on a white background. I'll go through the text and nitpick and proofread now.

Length seems a bit long but the poof level could be worse, especially since that seems to be a light dress. I think that petti would work well for a longer-length velveteen skirt or dress.

Nitpicks for:
http://thelolitaguidebook.tumblr.com/thebasics

The phrase "although any person of any gender is free to partake in it" is clunky (I think it's the use of the passive voice?) I suggest replacing it with "although it can be worn by anyone of any gender".

Since you've already put that lolita's not associated with the book Lolita in bold, which makes it look like a hyperlink, I suggest turning it into a link to fyeahlolita's article on the subject. (And, while we're on the subject of fyeahlolita, a "Further Reading" section in the sidebar might be useful).

"An important concepts of lolita is the idea of modesty. Wearers are covered quite conservatively, opting to cover up to portray class."
This whole bit is clunky and parts are grammatically awkward. Is English your second language, or are you just tired? "Modesty is an important concept in lolita fashion. Its wearers dress in a relatively conservative manner, reminiscent of high-class fashions of the past." would be better phrasing.

AFAIK, "coord" is short for "co-ordinate" not "co-ordination".

I suggest using "Please refer to our dictionary for a more in-depth guide." rather than "Please refer to our dictionary section for more information.", even though the latter isn't actually incorrect.

The dress used to illustrate the A-line shape is a little very slightly bell-shaped. It might be clearer for newbies if you use a more obviously A-line dress as an example.

I love the fact you've done images to show waistlines, necklines etc. These sort of lolita design details are things the other style guides have all left out, although they're essential to get a correct feel for the style. I get the feeling that there are more collar styles than that, although I can't think of any off the top of my head. Also, what you've listed as a bib collar - the bib/yoke bit is the detailing on the chest, which there can be without that style of collar (e.g. you can have a peter pan collar blouse with a bib). The actual collar part is called a standing collar or stand collar.

Not 100% sure about all the sleeve names, but I'm no expert (for example, I would just have called witch sleeves bell sleeves or asymmetrical bell sleeves or tiered bell sleeves). I've also seen "bishop sleeves" called gathered sleeves.

Nitpicks for:
http://thelolitaguidebook.tumblr.com/styles

>Styles can be mixed or combined to create different fun and interesting outfits. When you are still new to lolita it is highly advisable to stick to one of the three main styles. Most of the sub-styles are more difficult to pull off without knowing what works and what doesn’t work. Plus, it’s easier to build up your wardrobe when working with one of the three main themes, rather than limiting yourself to one sub style.

There's a few things I'd change to tighten up your phrasing and make this flow better. I suggest:
"Styles can be mixed or combined to create different fun and interesting outfits. When you are still new to lolita it's advisable to stick to one of the three main styles, since there are less coordinate examples of the rarely-seen sub-styles out there so they're difficult to pull off without the experience to know what does and doesn’t work. It's also easier to build up your wardrobe when working with one of the three main themes, rather than limiting yourself to one niche substyle." TBH I'm still not entirely happy with the phrasing of this so I'm open to suggestions.

I wouldn't put "princess-y" as a defining feature for sweet, it conflates it too much with hime.

Rather than saying "Colour palette" I'd say "Typical colour palette". Otherwise you run the risks of noobs thinking only certain colours can be sweet, or, conversely, that pink is always sweet. For example, navy and bright red are also seen in sweet, they're just less common.

For classic it might be useful to mention that the style is often vintage-inspired or has Victorian or Edwardian influences in the defining features. Maybe replace "classy" with one of those?

Not sure "mysterious" or "mature" are defining features of gothic. Do other anons have any suggestions?

I wouldn't say pirate falls under the category of sailor, although they are related styles. You could say they're both nautical themes.

Nitpicks cont.

Rather than "There are more sub-styles than what is listed here, but" which is grammatically incorrect, I'd say "This isn't an exhaustive list, but"

You should probably mention that old-school is sort of a descriptor that can be applied to other styles. So you can have "old school gothic" (most common) and "old school sweet" and "old school classic" (rarely seen because it's mostly fug).

Minor nitpick: I wouldn't say kuro/shiro is either a style or a theme, especially if you're the sort of person that insists bittersweet isn't a style. It's just a colour descriptor.

I know it's rarely seen now, but if you're gonna mention country you might as well mention punk. And since it functions in a similar way to oldschool in that in some ways it's a descriptor that can be applied to gothic, sweet and classic, you might as well make an attempt at tackling casual. People may argue over the definition of casual, but since you're only doing one-line descriptions with one picture, I'm sure you can come up with something acceptable (a beret and turtleneck and skirt coord, maybe?)

howdy! thanks for the nitpicks. i'll be sure to clean things up as time goes on. i'm mainly basing text, pictures, etc on the google docs and have been tweaking things here and there. english is my first language but i sometimes have a hard time with wording. i type like i talk and the way i talk can be a bit off at times. idk. my brain goes faster than my mouth and that can result in weird sentence structures. i appreciate the help with this.

the defining features sections (and the sub-styles section as a whole) were taken straight from the google doc. i associate princess-y with sweet a lot so i don't really disagree with that, but i can see what you're coming from. i could make a note saying "not to be confused with hime; see below" or something like that?. would also like more suggestions on "defining features" in general; keep 'em coming! i do disagree with pirate though; they both fall under nautical and mentioning pirate in that same section works fine. i don't' think it really deserves its own section outside of that.

i can certainly add punk though. any other sub-styles that i should add? i want to keep them even-numbered as much as possible. i want to keep kuro/shiro though just due to it being popular back in the day. and "casual style" will be discussed in another section. it's not really a sub-style.

please feel free to drop pics for punk and casual coords though. just a couple will suffice. it helps me out immensely, especially since i don't know shit about punk lolita (by the time i got into lolita it was pretty much on the out-and-out).

Nitpicks for:
http://thelolitaguidebook.tumblr.com/anatomy

A waist cincher is a type of corset, so I wouldn't list both.

I'd say "underskirts are good for taller lolitas so dresses reach their knees" not "so their knees are covered", because it's not necessary for dresses to be quite that long.

I like your petticoat links!

I don't like this bit: "Aside from the petticoat, there are also other lolita-specific undergarments whose purpose tend towards being more about preserving the wearer’s modestly and being decorative than maintaining shape."
Lolita-specific kind of implies exclusive to lolita, and neither of these things are, so I'd change that. Perhaps this?
"While a puffy petticoat provides the quintessential lolita shape, and bloomers serve to preserve the wearer's modesty, lolita undergarments can also have a purpose that's more decorative than functional."

>Bloomers are generally not meant to be shown, but under certain circumstances, it is acceptable to have an inch or two of the bottom ruffle or lace peeking out of the skirt (mostly seen in oldschool styles)
I'd change this to "Bloomers are not generally meant to be shown, but in oldschool lolita it is sometimes acceptable to have an inch or two of the bottom ruffle or lace peeking out of the skirt.", since you don't really see the bloomer thing outside of oldschool, ever.

I'd add "(useful for tall lolitas)" in brackets after the bit about how underskirts can lengthen a skirt hem.

I'd add in that corsets can provide a hard shell preventing elastic waistbands from digging into your waist and distributing their weight more easily, which provides a good foundation for the layers of petticoats often seen in lolita.

Maybe add that excessive use of binders can damage breast tissue? And also list sports bras as an option for slightly reducing bust size.

Some pronoun confusion in the main pieces category:

Should be "Jumperskirts (2nd img), or JSKs, are sleeveless dresses which have" or "A jumperskirt (2nd img), or JSK, is a sleeveless dress which has" not "Jumperskirts (2nd img), or JSK, is a sleeveless dress which has".

Similarly, change "Onepiece (3rd img), or OP, is a dress that has sleeves" to either "A onepiece..." or "Onepiece dresses (3rd img), or OPs, are dresses with sleeves".

Also maybe mention underbust JSKs in the JSK section, and that they're like a cross between a JSK and a high-waisted skirt?

I'd maybe add that their dropped waists and frequent lack of poof are another factor making salopettes unsuitable for lolita, and include a picture illustrating a salopette.

I'd append "because they are more associated with aristocrat" to "Ankle-length (and longer) dresses have been known to surface every once in a while, but their status as lolita are often debated within the community."

You're welcome! If you want, I'll drop my disposable email so we can work on this together. I've got a lot of experience of proofreading so I'm happy to help.

Yeah, a note saying "not to be confused with hime" sounds fine.

What I meant with the pirate thing was that rather than having "Nautical/Sailor" and then saying pirate falls under this category, you should just have "Nautical" as the bolded bit and then say both pirate and sailor fell into this category, keeping the existing list of examples of details found in sailor coords but also adding things that pirate frequently features, e.g. eyepatches, tricorn hats, asymmetrical detailing. Also I think it'd be clearer and more correct to call them sailor caps, not berets.

As for substyles, it's tricky. Most of what we have left (wa, qi, ero, and various crossover styles and common themes) is something I'm not that inclined to include, or is not lolita at all, like ouji. Of all of them, I think ero has the most claim to a spot - it's at least as deserving as guro, and as long as you include something nice and Antique Beast-y, could work.

i'm on the fence with talking about wa or qi, since 90% of the time it's ita. ero i don't even recognize as a legitimate sub-style but that's just me i guess. all three of these have one thing in common though, which is that they're almost always done in ita-tastic fashion. i don't know if i should honestly include them in a guide for newbies. Maybe mentioned for a line or two and warning that they are incredibly hard to do right? i'm fine with talking about guro at least because it's like a more...costume-y version of goth, i suppose, and i made it clear that it's really a seasonal sort of deal. i see it at least more frequently than wa, qi, or ero

See, I feel the opposite! I think ero has much more of a claim to being a style rather than a theme than guro does, and it's similarly difficult to do right. Perhaps one sees guro done more often for Halloween meets, but if you look online for coordinate pictures it's a heck of a lot easier to find ero ones than guro ones, of which there only seem to be a handful. But I definitely agree that wa and qi are to be avoided in a guide for newbies and would definitely not put them in. Maybe if you really want to keep them in pairs, and really don't want to include ero, get rid of either guro or shiro/kuro?

More nitpicks:

From the main page:
>Developed originally by the denizens of /cgl/, this guide was made to replace older, outdated resources to help new comers to the fashion get their foot in the door.
I suggest this be changed to the following:
>Developed originally by the denizens of /cgl/, this guide was made to replace older, outdated resources.

This gets rid of the misspelled newcomers, gets rid of the weird singular-plural issue at the end, and kills a bit of repetitiveness.

Is there anyway to change the order of the buttons in the sidebar? I think "Theme" should be absolutely last since it is just there as a credit--at first glance it seems like it would lead to a link to actual lolita themes, but perhaps this is just showing my unfamiliarity with tumblr.

From The Basics: What is lolita fashion?
>The fashion covers a large variety of sub-styles, and is generally worn by women, although it can be worn by anyone of any gender.
I suggest this be changed to
>>The fashion covers a large variety of sub-styles, and is generally worn by women, although it can be worn by anyone.
If it can be worn by anyone, then any gender is already included.

>The name “lolita” itself has unknown origins, but it is not associated Valdimir Nabokov’s book Lolita and its themes. It is also not associated with “lolicon” either. You can read more about the name “lolita” here.
The page you've linked to shows a tangential connection to Nabokov's Lolita, which throws doubt on the authority of the guide. It would probably be better to reword this section to something like
>The name “lolita” itself has unknown origins, but the fashion is not associated Valdimir Nabokov’s book Lolita and its themes. It is also not associated with “lolicon.” You can read more about the possible origins of the name “lolita” here.

>Check out Volume 3: Anatomy of An Outfit for more information about petticoats.
Is there a point to numbering the volumes if there is no actual suggested reading order (in the sidebar)? I would suggest we just nix the "volumes" and numbers in this rendition of the guide. This would be a great place to put a link to "Anatomy."

>Waistlines
Is there any way to add the types of waistlines each image depicts underneath these images like they are for the other examples? This would add a more cohesive look to the page plus it would help readers by showing them immediately which waistline is which without having to scroll and read to figure out which is which.

From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: What are styles?
>When you are still new to lolita it’s advisable to stick to one of the three main styles, since there are less coordinate examples of the rarely-seen sub-styles out there so they’re difficult to pull off without the experience to know what does and doesn’t work.
This is an unwieldy sentence. Suggestion:

>It’s also easier to build up your wardrobe when working with one of the three main themes, rather than limiting yourself to one niche sub-style.
Two things:
>working with
should be
>working within
and I know that the word "style" is being repeated a lot, but there are many themes within each sub-style--"themes" should be changed to "styles" in this sentence.

From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: Sweet Lolita
>(not to be confused with hime)
An external link to an overview of hime should be here.

From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: Classic Lolita

Suggested change for the latter:
>crowns; mostly non-prints

From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: Gothic Lolita
To maintain cohesiveness, ditch the periods after
>ghostly.
>decadence”.

From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: Mixing Styles
>This can serve to either tone down the look, or add an interesting spin to it.
This is an unnecessary comma which should be omitted.

>From Volume 2: Styles, Substyles, and Themes: Sub-styles
The way this is formatted is potentially confusing to newfags who have no idea what each style looks like. I think it would be best to either show two examples of each sub-style and then have a description or format it so that there is one photo, description, etc. for each sub-style.

From
Volume 3: The Anatomy of an Outfit: Innerwear
>In more OTT styles
OTT should be defined here--it is the first time OTT is mentioned in the guide; a simple explanation in parenthesis will work nicely
>OTT (over the top)

Since images are being repeated here, would is be better to move some of the info from The Basics to Anatomy of an Outfit? Types of collars, etc. seem more relevant to the latter.

Agreed. I was pointing things out as I came across them and hadn't seen hime mentioned yet.

>also there /are/ photo examples of the sub-styles. three for the main ones, and one each for the other ones. are you not seeing them?
I can see them, but the formatting is confusing. I was suggesting a change to something like:
>photo of nautical example
>explanation of nautical style
>photo of country example
>explanation of country style
or
>photo of nautical example
>photo of nautical example
>explanation of nautical style
>photo of country example
>photo of country example
>explanation of country style

instead of the current
>photo of nautical example
>photo of country example
>explanation of nautical style
>explanation of country style

Starting out with these two the rest kind of make sense since I'm familiar with what nautical means in general and that the country pic is not nautical in any way, but not being familiar with old school, hime, etc. made those confusing--at first I thought they were both examples of old school since I have no idea what I'm looking at and the description seemed to work for both at first: "Basically the old (90’s, early 2000’s) version of any sub-style. Focus is more on lace/fabric/ruffle details than print details. Bows" As a newfag I have no idea what older or current styles are and I'm sure most other newfags are in the same boat. This weirdness and simple misunderstanding can be cleared up with a small formatting change.

Personally I would rather see two different example photos for each sub-style since there are already external links for two of them (which could then just be added as images), but that's just a preference--stylistically it would be better to split them up even if there's just one photo for each style since it enhances clarity.

i don't really see how they're confusing, since it's pretty clear which one is which. i could put it like "Nautical (left): blah blah blah" if they helps?? seems pretty self explanatory the way it's formatted right now. newfags are ignorant but they aint blind (at least, i hope not). SHRUGS.
also i'd rather not do two pictures for the smaller sub-styles; one is enough i feel, especially since i don't' want to focus on them too much. the main focus should be on sweet, classic, and gothic, especially for newbies.

I think the bright warm colors look beautiful on the navy but I didn't quite understand the color and cut choices with this release given the target audience. Navy and underbust cuts generally trend towards their more dark-jeweltone-gothic-classic leaning customers but the print is clearly trending more towards their classic-sweet customers. Would there be any interest in MM style cardigans? (Pic related)
As its been a while since MM released any, I was considering selling my own.
Not intending to replicate them, just inspired by.
I'm currently sourcing manufacturers, for pricing quotes, and at the moment I'm looking at a price point of max $150. Depending on the quotes and interest to as if I continue with the project, too high a manufacture cost and I know not many lolitas will shell out prices higher than brand cost and I won't make money.
I didn't want to start investing into this if there was minimal interest, or people would just much prefer to buy cheaper Taobao options.

>> No.8169811

>>8169803
Tbh it seems pretty simple to buy a plain cardigan and embelish it yourself. There's no shortages of round neck cardigans with a nice cable knit pattern. So no I would not pay $150 for a sweater that I could do up myself for about $40. Some girls aren't quite so handy with a needle though, so who knows?

Thanks for moving these over.

More nitpicks:
Vol 3: Anatomy: Innerwear
>For left to right: Back Frill Bloomer
Typo
>From left to right

From Vol 3: Bags
>Most brand bags do not have a lot of room to store items in, so keep this in mind. Many lolitas carry just the essentials in their bag (phone, wallet, makeup, medicine if need be, etc) or will even carry multiple bags, especially at conventions where they might be carrying a lot of items that are all important.
I think this can be streamlined a bit:
>Most brand bags do not have a lot of room to store items in so many lolitas carry just the essentials in their bag or will even carry multiple bags.
Most people know what their own essentials are and there are many places where people may need to carry many things.

>From left to right:
This needs to be light blue to fit in with the other sections.

Vol 3: Jewelery
>Jewelery
>Jewelry is
One spelling should be chosen for cohesiveness.

>Jewelry is also not an essential part of a lolita coordinate, but does add detail and cohesion to an outfit.
I'd ditch the "also."

A Note On Piercings and Body Modifications
It would make more sense to nix the first sentence and make the last sentence the first so that it reads like this
>As a rule of thumb: the fewer body modifications, the better. One will not exactly fit into the cute, girly aesthetic of lolita with huge gauges in their ears or with full tattoo sleeves. Nose rings and tongue piercings are also not received well. When it comes to piercings, most lolitas either take them out when wearing lolita, or will coordinate their piercings to match the coord. Most tattoos will be covered by your layers of clothing, especially torso and leg ones. If you are going to show your tattoos, keep in mind whether or not it will be a distraction to your coord, or if it plays off it well. If it will distract and lower the quality of the coord, cover it up.

I just purchased a slightly less popular AP print skirt off lace market. I don't really want to wait for the headbow to turn up so I'm considering buchering the waist ties to make a hair accessory. Thanks so much for your input, its appreciated!

I'll have a look at that, thanks. I didn't really bother to travel down that path because I myself am a classic lolita, so it doesn't fit my designers aesthetic (selfish, I know) and also AP releases so many cardigans I didn't think there was much of a shortage. But I will definitely look into it, thanks!

>>8170657
I was considering a variety of colours, probably would have been a future step if business was going well. The price point was just an initial estimate, which could go either way depending on manufacture quotes, raw costs plus I have to make it worth my time. The price is going to be higher because the runs are going to be quite small, also being located in Australia means things cost m uh more than say the US, still that means my $150 is currently US $120. But with all the response I'm not seeing too much interest, so I might just go ahead with singular runs for myself.
I haven't really documented anything I've created to this point but if you are still interested/ want to keep updated throw away email in field, email me and I'll let you know how things progress.

The I don't think their quality has gone down. As in, it went down from their early days, but then went back up. Their recent stuff, from the years before the scandal broke, like the Lady Amara collection, was good quality, realistic-looking with nice fibres and a nice blend. So I would certainly recommend some of their collections on the second-hand market even though I'd no longer pay their prices new.

It's all irrelevant to your racism point, I just see the "GLW quality has gone downhill recently" thing repeated a lot, and if "recently" is defined as the past year or so it actually hasn't.

quality can be subjective i suppose. me personally, i think they've down down in quality, plus i've seen others who think similarly as well (within the past 2-3 years). i don't like a lot of their color blends and they're too shiny for my tastes. like, i can /tell/ they're wigs even when they're in a natural style/color, and for the prices they're at, i don't want that. their curly wigs in particular look pretty fake. if people still want to purchase from them, that's fine! but i personally don't recommend them. one can get way more bang for their buck elsewhere. $40+ for a short synthetic wig is pretty pricey for the quality GLW has. i could get the katinka from arda wigs instead of GLW's lolibob and save $10 and get pretty much the same wig. the only thing that really stands out from them is rhapsody, but now you can find knock offs from taobao that are pretty good quality and are half the cost.

plus i just can't in good conscious recommend a company that i know for a fact whitens the skins of their darker models. i've got standards.

I did find a pair of Bodyline boots I liked but I wanted to wear shoes that would show off the tights. However, I'm a little iffy on spending $11+fees+shipping for the tights because when I first looked at it I swore it came with measurements and now I can't find them so I'm considering just using plain black tights and getting a pair of Bodyline boots I really liked, SHOES269

I'm not 100% sold on the blouse but this was one of the veeeeery few options available on Taobao. I wanted something more chiffon and billowy but for high necked blouses with neck bows, this was the best I could find that also had non-plain sleeve cuffs. Pic related is the white version. There's not a good full-view pic of the black one.

And yeah, this is my first coord. I'm not really a lolita, I just really liked the prints and wanted to dress up using them for conventions without looking too terrible. I hate to say they're cosplay-ish but I'm wearing them to conventions. I'm trying to stick to lolita rules when it comes to coording them but that's because I don't want to look like a hot mess and end up posted here when all I wanted to do was hang out and be witchy.

So I finally got my Infanta fruity pie dress in today (from my-lolita-dress).
This was a dream dress for me I guess before I decided to start wearing lolita, but then I found out it was cheap and readily available so I bought it.

However when I got it I noticed several flaws in the print. They're not tiny either... pic is the worst one (located near the bottom, stock pic for scale) but there's a few more blank spots like that, as well as a few spots of bleeding on the stripes. Total there's about 6 quite noticeable flaws near the bottom of the dress, front and back, as well as a few small ones in the scatter print part that don't bother me.

I want to contact them and see if I can exchange it or get a discount or something, but I honestly don't know if my expectations were just too high. I'm a lolita noob, and my only other dress is a secondhand bodyline (which, incidentally, has no print flaws). I know this isn't brand or anything but I feel like the flaws are excessive. Am I wrong?

Is there any way at all for people to tastefully go legwear-free in lolita? Or is it just a definite no? Would love to see some coords if anyone has any. I imagine it would look best just in certain styles or with certain shoes.

Sorry for a nooby sounding question, but does anyone know any good places to get cutsews or are there any mainstream stores selling good loliable t shirts this season? I only have one and I want some to wear this summer, but I can't afford or justify spending $70-$100 on a single brand one and the couple Bodyline ones look like absolute crap. I'm bad with sewing so I can't make one myself.

IMHO, too much density is no problem. Go fleece lined if you wish. It's 20 and 30 and sometimes 40 denier ones that are gonna look cheap and scrappy.

Flaws are excessive, contact them to complain.

Other than brand, the only place I can think of is Rose Melody. But basically I dunno, I've been having similar problems finding them ever since I first started out.

in the guide, i recommend arda (as long as you stick with their natural colors. their mugatus are ugly as hell imo but stevie, jane, eowyn, and victoria are really great for lolita and they're inexpensive. clip ins are also good to get from them and their colors are very pretty), lockshop, and cyperous. you're right when you say that taobao can be hit or miss. really just depends on where you get them. the only one i see come up frequently is fantasy sheep, but that's more for cosplay i think. i've heard bodyline's wigs are ok as well?? i don't know a lot of people that have bought them and i've never seen them used in person. l-email is decent for the price. i like thefivewits too but again, mainly for cosplay wigs. i like their "loli ruffle encounter" in brown and their "gothic lolipocalype" looks really nice and full. as long as you cut the bangs and stick with natural colors you'll be good with them. if all else fails and you end up just not being big into synthetic wigs, you could splurge and get real hair wigs, but they're expensive as fuck and only worth the price if you wear them semi-daily imo. good luck!!

you need at least some sort of legwear. you could get away with just some ankle socks like this in the summer time though, as long as the rest of your coordinate is over-all summer-y (like wearing a chiffon dress) and your dress mostly covers your knees.

I always thought these sandals were super cute and looked great. This outfit looks plenty Lolita to me without socks.

It really depends on the coord and the shoe being used as to whether or not you can get away with it.

I've bought Bodyline wigs and they're okay but lower quality than the GLW wigs I own - fibres aren't as soft and they're thinner on top. There was an anon criticizing Arda in the general a while back but I guess it's a matter of taste.

Is anyone else having severe lag while trying to load lacemarket/LM images today? I assumed it was my shitty computer but no other image heavy sites are giving me trouble, and I tried on my phone to confirm it and it's lagging to load images there too.
