Oh god, that's going to be a disaster.

It's nothing really nite worthy, but I was watching an informative lolita video on YouTube the other day and the girl called Juliet et Justine Indie...

Apparently there's a "maid cafe" in my city now (they do it every week or so at a couple different restaurants, I think?) and I can't help but feel second-hand embarrassment about the whole thing.
Not only for how they look but for how they most likely present themselves as "omg kawaii meido-chan desu heehee". Of course, things could be way different than that and it might be an enjoyable experience... but somehow I doubt it knowing the cosplay community here.

It's a shame cause a couple of these girls are kind of cute. But the dresses... the hair... the everything. My soul weeps.

This line of thinking really bothers me especially when I see it on tumbler. It implies that there's no such thing as being a tomboy or a tomgirl and that anyone with any interest that doesn't line up with their sex automatically means that they were born with the wrong body. It enforces gender rolls pretty hard (why can't a girl be a girl while liking baseball? Why can't a guy be a guy while liking pink?) and is, frankly, several steps backward from what they're saying they're trying to accomplish.

Granted, I don't know the person in question so I don't know if she has any sort of dysphoria, but this kind of thinking has always struck a nerve with me.
