It was never accurate.

/fit/ was always our most desirable board and many of us would gladly dump our beta boyfriends if /fit/ showed interest in us. Unfortunately, it seems like /fit/ stopped caring about us, so we're the ones who got dumped.

There's never been particular interest on /cgl/ in the loser men of /fa/. Their board representative (Todd, a 4/10 ching chong face-wise) also turned out to be a rapist who cheated on Piplup, the queen of /cgl/.

The 2nd most attractive board after /fit/ is /sp/.

I don't really remember to be honest. I just remember starting to lurk in 2010 then posting in 2011.

To give help if I can, and to ask for help when I need it. I also like /cgl/ for critique, since seagulls tend to be honest and give good advice on how to improve (if you're not an asshole about it). I used to read in on the drama sometimes back when it was the thing to do, but it wasn't something I lived for, so meh. Nowadays I just lurk and only post if I feel like I actually have something to say. I think what I miss most about old /cgl/ was how vibrant and social it was. It kinda feels empty these days.

I'm here trying to learn how not to be Ita before i start wearing Lolita.

i'd been using 4chan for a long time before it was created and i browsed it a lot for about a month or two after it was first created and announced. haven't used it much since because i felt like it got too drama heavy at the time

i check back on /cgl/ occasionally because one of my internet bffs is big into cosplay and lolita and it always seems so fun when she's talking about it and sharing photos. i like looking at pretty outfits and cosplays and even though i'm pretty ancient at this point (i'm 26) i'd still like to try cosplay or lolita at some point.

i never really got into either cosplay or lolita in the first place, despite interest, because i'm pretty much the opposite of attractive and i felt like i'd just be judged and made fun of. as i've gotten older, though, i feel more like i don't care as much. i just want to get to dress up silly or pretty or whatever and be involved with people who like cosplay and lolita and just want to have fun with it. i want to learn new skills in creating cosplays and put work into it and stuff and chat with people about the craft.

Because, imo, the lolita community is somewhat fake. I'm sure there are girls out there who have found long term friends in the community but that's rare. I guess I'm just at an age where I don't want superficial friendships with a group of girls ageing between 16-25. Cgl is a place I can come to get real feed back, even though sometimes its full of trolls, there is still a group of people here who actually give a shit about there hobby that are willing to help. And that. Ok...". Learned from ita threads and asked for advice on others. Now I learn from nitpick threads and give advice on others.

Also, you nice folks, who tell fuzzy stories and find links for other cosplayers, tell depressed anons it will get better and offer a throwaway email for a chat, and help others find dream dresses, without trips to credit you, being decent for the sake of being decent: love you guys. Cosplayer, probably been on here for too long at least since 08. It was the natural step from coscom because there wasn't really many cosplay communities. Yeah it has its downsides but whatever. I like getting the critique and I've meet some pretty cool people on here. I like the related threads, I like seeing what people make and how they can help people make new things. And I like seeing bullshit get called out. It might be a shithole but gosh its my shithole.

I helped to start the Ashley drama. I was one of the people that posted her poop broach and kept the threads alive with updates (I even wrote the beginnings of the Dramatica before it went to shit). That was the shining medal of my /cgl/ career.

Then I got bored of drama in general (to the point where Staminarose seemed boring) and got more into lolita. Then otome. Then mori. I mostly browse hair/skin/beauty threads now, post the occasional feels, and go through shopping threads to add kawaii stuff to my wishlist.

I hide threads like it's my job.

Occasionally I'll selfpost and a bunch of anons will say they recognized me from some convention and thought my costume was so cool, and it gives me the warm fuzzy feelings.

I think through Homestuck? I was actually browsing a Tumblr of con horror stories, and /cgl/ might have been dropped a few times throughout. I visited out of curiosity and only frequented the MSPA thread at first, and then branched out to lurking in other cosplay and lolita threads.

I've always wanted to cosplay, but I have a lot of respect for character designs and the artistry that you guys put into crafting your costumes and don't want to fuck that up with my shitty body.

I do enjoy lurking though, you guys are very talented.

Like Tiferet or Gwen, I'm way too old (and too tall) to actually wear lolita without looking creepy and delusional. Unlike them, however, I know and accept it. But I gleefully steal the bits of it I *can* get away with, and hang out here strictly for the ita/cringe/nitpick threads, and the drama, and sometimes just to look at pretty dresses, and admire pics of girls who can wear them well. I also love the mori threads when they happen.

I like to sew, and occasionally I read the cosplay help threads to pick up tips and inspiration, but generally I hide all the con/cosplay threads.
