The ExCel costs a lot of money to rent, and they rent out all the halls. Even running the aircon is an additional cost, and it's surprisingly expensive. They pump a lot of money into it, that's why they have a lot of sponsors too.

MCM does make a steady profit, but that's all it it is, steady. None of the organisers make more than they would stacking shelves in Asda. It's only worth them doing because it's not quite enough work that they can't maintain other regular jobs year-round so it's bonus money twice a year. If it ever became more trouble than it is already or if the money dropped even a little you can bet they'd all jump ship in a heartbeat.

And funnily enough, the sexism that was commonplace when the main demographic was young males is now rather embarrassing and out of place. But of course, the young males who had traditionally made up the vidya audience now feel threatened that what was originally seen as part of their identity is now evolving away from that, so instead resort to screaming that everything is being ruined.

Hobbycraft doesn't really keep a great stock of fabrics outside of quilting these days.

Minerva Crafts online has a wide selection of fabrics and colours, but you have to pay for samples. There's plenty of fabric stores in London with a variety of prices and quality of fabrics. Google will tell you most of what you need to know.

The same fear that is instilled by their media helps the losers with making these particular types of threats.

Police can and always do make public the fact that a charge has been made and the incident number for that case. They can but almost never do release the name of the person being charged. They can't and never release the name of the victim.

So AL was able to verify that the charges are in fact real and because they were asked to remove him directly by the victim they know both parties involved. Why do people care about the "nerd scene"? Nerds are horrible, bitter, self absorbed people who lack basic social skills and dedicate their lives to escapism.
