It's kind of a Progress? but not really. We did Three Caballeros for Mickey's Trick-Or-Treating Halloween party. Our Panchito thought it best to probably not bring her pistols just in case, and I didn't bring the cigar I have for my Jose. But all in all, it was a fun night! I'm hoping we're bringing them with to ALA13 and grab some more pictures.

Might as well put my name on for a self-post thread.
I'm 6', and the boots wear another inch or two. That cloak still goes a little past my ankles.
I can't walk backwards, or let anyone walk within 5 feet of me, or else they'll step on it, or the breeze will pick up and it'll bitch-slap everyone.

A few different photographers took a ton of candid pictures of me walking across the park with my cloak flowing around.
If I ever get too big / old for Gino, I'll do Bismarck Waldstein JUST to wear a giant cloak again.

I guess I can post one from somewhere.

I know the shawl/coat thing isn't accurate, I wanted to walk around a convention center without it being stepped on.

haha yeah my suzaku wig was one of the first wigs I cut/styled myself and I cut it too short and basically killed it...I'm still trying to find the perfect wig to replace it but so far haven't found anything worth while.
As far as my gloves go, they actually came with the costume

See the size difference between myself and my Gino? Yeah, our gloves are one size fits all. They are loose on him and my hands are swimming in them.
Not to mention the fingers are square shaped (with 2 seams rather than only one flat one going around the finger) so my fingers always look like sausages. I had to hide them in a fist in every photo otherwise it would look ridiculous. I really want to remake those now that I have a basic grasp on how to make gloves.
I'd honestly recommend just looking up tutorials on how to make gloves and remake yours as well.

For the helmet, I start with a base of a helmet, then build cardboard/construction paper onto it to make the back fin parts and crest, after you have the shape worked out, apply bondo to make a solid helmet. Sand for three days and three nights. When all hope is lost and the helmet seems to be getting no smoother thanks to your work, get wall plastic and cake the imperfections in the helmet with it (or just cover the helmet completely, it looks akin to a strawberry cake) let it dry for as long as possible then sand. Paint and Char himself will be jelly as fuck.

The mask is easier, get some silver sheen sunglasses, break the lenses out. Take your favorite kind of grey material and make the shape of the mask with holes where the eyes go, then carefully glue the eye pieces from the sunglasses in.

We're working on making the uniforms and costumes the originals (Sigurd/Hyuga/Jesiah/Khar) would have worn.. creating their backstories through photos. Since there's no designs for them, we've had to go a little creative.. Hyuga's was done pretty simply. The pants and shoes remained the same as his Gears quipao.. we figured since he was the Guardian Angel, he would have been given leeway on his uniform.. so we went more flowy..the shirt was modeled after a Tai Chi uniform.. we kept the hip belts and the glasses.. for Yui, I went with something of an Indian design, since Shevat is all organic and junk. Pretty happy with what we have thus far. Thinking something along the lines of underarmor, golds and either reds or purples with Siggy. Not sure if tummy would show.. but since he's a manwhore, it's seeming likely.

Yeah, I flew United to work NYCC. I'm flying Southwest on Monday when I come back from Anime Vegas. We ended up getting our carryon bags checked free on the flight back from New York because of the airline overbooking the flight.

I can understand why my bosses do Southwest. Two free checked bags. Though my coworker who flies more often with the company says that United is much nicer then Southwest. Also my bosses rack up so many points, it's costing them a whole $2.50 to fly me from Vegas to LAX.

So many things wrong with it now that I look. The stripe on the shirt is peeling off at the top, no eyeliner on waterline, rope coming off pants leg...sheesh.

The belt was pretty simple. What I did was take an existing belt that I liked the size of, and basically wrapped and glued some white pleather (or whatever you want to call it, I dunno, I buy it at JoAnn's) and make it connect all the way around with some velcrow. The belt buckle was more complicated, I made it out of crayola play, let it dry, cut off the unshapely bits and finished it the same way I did the helmet (the wall plaster and paint, skipped the bondo). I used the belt buckle to cover up where the belt connected.

Here's my revamped Feferi with still more work to be done. I need to put the horns closer to my forehead, get clips so my hood stays up and I'm redoing the cellophane for the wings for Sakuracon since it's pretty trashy right now. In this photo my skirt is wrinkled and my tiara crooked. I wear white mesh contacts and with the googles I can't see shit when I put this costume on. And none of my friends cosplay homestuck so when I ask if I look alright they just shrug their shoulders and say sure.

My most recently completed costume that I made for myself, Red Robin. Tenleid is there also with her Black Bat, which puts my costume to shame.
