Hello gulls, you might remember me from the last thread. I’m waiting on the shoes in the mail - my big question is, is my chicken bag too risky? I really love it but not sure if it automatically ruins the outfit.

I have previously only worn gothic so I thought I'd ask for help with my first foray into sweet. I don't think OTT would look good on me so I tried to keep it simple. I only have black mary janes at the moment, can I get away with wearing them since it's a dark brown coord or should I buy some brown shoes? I really think you should spend the money for a good pair of brown shoes. They don't have to necessarily be brand; in fact an off-brand, real leather pair of simple brown Mary Janes will last you longer than some polyurethane brand stuff. Also I know you said taobao and this isn't it but if you're willing to spend the money q pot has a lot of chocolate stuff (I also know of japanese shop specializing in fake food that does all kinds of chocolate stuff and can even do customs)

I need quite a bit of help. This is my first dress so I'm an absolut newbie. I kind of struggle with the shoes, legwear, jewelry and color matching/coordination.
The cream color seems hard to match, I custom dyed my headress ( an old thing I made in middle school, probably going to make a cute silk one ) and my pantyhose is of the same tone but It look bluer on picture. I wonder if hadding a real white with a blouse or detachable sleeve ( sorry I need to fix them ) could be a way to introduce other accesories or leg wear in white without looking out of place. As for the shoes, I'm probably going to retire my white shoes for some RHS in white since they are starting to peel, so I'm left with my black yatta girl loafers and I'm not quite sure if they work ? A brown shoes would have been maybe better but I'm not really sure. For the jewelry I tried necklace but it look weird with the neck things, maybe adding a small charms on them could work well. I tried wrist cuffs but it looked out of place, maybe should I get pearl bracelets or something similar?
As for the leg wear I'm thinking about buying cream fluffy socks on taobao or maybe lace kneesocks...

Sorry for the long and weird post, I'm a bit overwhelmed and my english is crap ( also sorry for the weird censoring, there is a lot of artworks on my walls).

(I think you can coordinate the sleeves in, but for now I'm going to focus on coording the dress without the sleeves)

Without the sleeves, the tights just throw the colour balance off, which is why I think some beige crew length socks would look really cute. To me, those white shoes look really bad so retire those fuckers. I think wearing some high heeled cream pumps would look nice for a more elegant look but I can see the rocking horse shoes working as well, especially if you coordinate it with a straw hat or something. Whatever shoes you wear, I think elevating your height for this dress would look good.

Speaking of which, I think different headwear such as a hat or a rose hair accessory could work better too. If you want to keep the headdress though, then I think it works better with the sleeves.

If it's summer and a family trip, you'll probably be better off if you wear a big black hat (perhaps something like picrel), comfortable black mary jane or oxford pumps and some socks that match the print. Add a short necklace to emphasize the neckline, possibly wristcuffs or a couple of bracelets and you will look very presentable for any situation you might get into on the trip. I mean, you could use a white blouse and some white otks. Or maybe even coord it with sax or yellow. it is so basic, I cant believe you asked the question. If you look at any pink dress with a borderprint, you could coord this similarily.

I think it is cute, but it might be more versatile if you do. Depends on what you like. Also, sometimes removing embroidery on velvet or velvet like materials can leave a crushed mark which would pretty much make it seem a bit ruined.

I'm putting together my first coord, and for the life of me, I can't figure out a good pair of shoes to pair with this. (Accessories are changing, so don't mind the necklace) Definitely something in black, but beyond that, I'm at a bit of a loss.

The embroidery is very cute!! Beware though if you decide to remove it that it might be completely ruined by the holes in the fabric created from the embroidery. I recently did this with a blouse and the collar was full of holes even though I was extremely careful. Had to cover it with something else.

You don't need DARK reds exactly matched. It's not pinks. No one is going to go "that one is SLIGHTLY DARKER!!"

Pink is either red or blue base and monitors/photos warp colors. No one cares about reds..

>> No.10629586

>>10629518
maybe not dark reds, but medium reds yes. if you have an orangey red with a bluish red then it's going to look just as dumb as peach pink with cool-tone pink unless you're the type of person who is experienced enough to make a balanced white+ivory coord.

I feel like the cut might be too simple to warrant a bonnet, but if you pick a little one and balance it out with a fancy bolero, I think it could work. The easier thing to go for would be a lace ruffle headdress that mimics the bottom hem lace. Because of the map print, you could get a little piratey with it too. Pic related is a suggestion of general shapes - the colors and lace don't necessarily match.

I think I'd want to coord this with more white or a super pale orange/apricot. Adding much more of that bold neon orange outside of small details could make it all too loud.
I kinda want to see it used in a coord with leaf-shaped rabbit ears and cute carrot accessories. "Flight Attendant on Bunny Air" might appeal to my helplessly tacky heart.

If matching purples are too hard to find, you could always pull the pink from the print instead. White blouse and socks, and pink headpiece, shoes, and bag? Could also do a white bag. Hard to say what sort of accessories, because I can't tell what the print is at all from the pic lol. Probably want something thematically similar tho.

If you have the budget, best place to check would be IW's online shop for socks. They have some stock of pink socks (pic related.

This depends on where you live, but if you want to order from taobao and have less than a month, you might be able to get within that limit if you choose DHL as your shipping option. DHL is pretty expensive and subject to hefty customs, depending on country, but it'll get to you fast at least. For taobao, I would say Cutiecreator/Sweet Dreamer is my favourite store for classic accessories.

Lastly, indie brands are also an option for a hair accessory. I think there was an indie brand thread made at some point if you need to know the more reputable ones. But Lily of the Valley is one that makes really nice hairpieces and I believe they will do custom work, so you could buy something to match (idk if it would be within your one month timeline though). Be careful if you're just randomly looking on Etsy, you want to make sure it's from someone who knows what they're doing so you don't order an ita mess.

I think it would look pretty cool coordinated with the complementary color, a dark blue. Not exactly sure how I would go about doing that but I’m thinking a dark blue cropped cardigan/bolero or high neck blouse, shoes, bag and headwear.

IW is a good source for socks, but a warning that that blouse is a dark cream color and will look out of place with white socks. It may be hard to find socks that match that blouse. If you don’t have anything that’s a lighter color, I’d recommend going for a pair of lace tights that match the dress. They’re easy to find inexpensively too.
