If you don't have an overlocker just sew it by hand, if it's a softer knit like the one of bolero or thin pullover it will stretch out the fabric if you use a zig zag stitch. If it's a tshirt like knit you can use a normal sewing machine ( but you need to zigzag the edges obv )

Cutsews are great. I love the look of blouses as well but they create unflattering lumps underneath thinner jsks and can ride up when tucked into skirts. Cutsews are much more lightweight and smooth. The stretchy form-fitting fabric is also more flattering for me when worn with skirts, since I've got a very large difference between bust and waist measurements.
I guess cutsews can look bad on a super huge chest but to be fair, that goes for most other lolita garments too.

I've seen them done plenty, though I don't have any worn coordinates on-hand. Mary Magdelene has done a few pretty cutsews, and Innocent World has released several as well. Think like the Axes Femme cutsews with lace and pearls at the neck or with a puff sleeve and a delicate frill neckline.

I prefer cutsews because I often find that blouses will either have disgusting button gaping or fit like a bag, due to not having a rectangular body shape. But I guess it's not quite the same since my bust measurement is considered below average in the grand scheme of things, just proportionately larger. This is a tip for working with stretchy fabrics in general, but

1) use good quality thread. none of that 3 spools for 99 cents shit, use gutterman, coats and clark, or whatever nice thing your store has available. Actually you shouldn't use cheap thread in general, I used to cheap out until I learned it's bad for your sewing machine. It would be pretty stupid of me to fuck up a $500 machine over 30c thread.
2) This was recommended to me by a lady at a fabric store. the general tip is to use an appropriate needle (eg ballpoint instead of all purpose). But the lady's personal tip was to use a Schmetz stretch needle. It wasn't till I used a combo of this and good thread that my machine stopped fucking knits up.

That aside, if you have access to a serger, I hear it's preferable for sewing knits because of the differential feed.
