how do you store all your jewelry, gulls?

I'm thinking of getting something like pic related, or perhaps making a little stacking box set, like the ones with velvet flocking that you stick rings into. But will chunkier, acrylic pieces, clips, can badges, etc fit in something like this cabinet? They don’t show the colors they’re sold out of on the drop down. Mint blouses are kind of hard to come by so I would bet that as soon as they restock they sold out. Can confirm when I was a babylita I bought the green color thinking I was getting mint and it is definitely a spring green that doesn’t match anything except for Dreaming Macaron. I believe the drop down won’t say mint if it’s sold out in all sizes.

Cherry on lace market seems to have them. Yes she’s a scalper so let’s not get into that, but she has a huge stock of Bodyline. If you’re desperate she has a ton of stuff that’s not listed yet, I’ve sent her messages before asking if she had a certain item in a certain size and she did and she listed it for me.

Cut the barrette part off and slide a headband through the center loop. It won’t look perfect but it’s a work around.

Or better yet, put your hair up in some style that makes a bump on top of your head, like pigtails or a pony tail or bun. Then you can position the clip standing up in front of one of the tails and clipped to it. See pic related.
If you know of a print that came with the barrette as the only hair piece, look under the Instagram tags for that print to find ideas on how to wear a hair clip. Fancy Candy was a fairly popular one that just came with a hair clip (with the exception of the pink special set having a proper headbow) but there have been quite a few in recent years. Fancy Candy is the one that I think would have very good results because it’s generally being worn as an OTT sweet style so people try to use the clip more as they would a headbow. Other recent AP prints that have released with only a hair clip are less OTT sweet and you’re more likely to see people just wearing it as a barrette on the side of their head or with a beret, something low-key like that.

This is like definitely weird looking to put with a jean skirt but normal looking with lolita, not costumey at all. The problem with wearing this with a normie jean skirt is that bodyline doesn’t use very high-quality fabric so it’s not going to lay nice or blouse nice, if you know what I mean by that. It’s not going to fold or drape in an attractive way. Plus the lace looks super cheap. When you’re wearing it in the context of a full lolita coord (especially under a JSK), the lace trim that’showing is kind of not the focus and will fly under the radar with so much else going on in an outfit. But when you wear it with something more normie the lace kinda is the focus and it will be readily apparent how cheap it is

For Bodyline blouses, google/post the product code to look for reviews one by one. They vary so much, there's some that are comfy, hoodies that people sleep in, and then some that people complain the fabric and the lace are both stiff.

However, for your adventure days, I suggest just ditching blouses entirely. Cutsews, cutsews made from t-shirt material are cute, comfortable breathe well, absorb sweat and don't smell.

There are also dresses with short to midi skirts and a fabric draped over them. You may want to look for stores that market towards Kyabakura or if you just want images search up older Ageha scans. (A) If it's a rectangle skirt then it takes a cupcake. This is actually the one and only rule for petticoat shape you needed to know, most other skirt shapes have more fabric as the hem and less at the hips, and do fine with A-line petticoats. Lolita in particular has border prints, and border prints means rectangle skirts, and that's why lolita alone has this issue of cupcake vs A-line petticoat.

(B) If it's a polyester release like this one, often it'll borderline not matter, especially if it's burando. Polyester is usually far thinner and drapes better than cotton, so whatever the petticoat shape is, the fabric will just drape over it, and if there's too much fabric due to the wrong shape petticoat, it won't stick out as much as cotton will.
(Burando because AP poly specifically tends to drape really really well, taobao tends to be slightly stiffer, but not as stiff as cotton).

Lengthy way to eventually come to the conclusion that with some of AP's polyester dresses, you can indeed swap between cupcake and A-line and sometimes it doesn't matter.

(additional note: With the cotton dresses, some of them have built-in petticoats, so when you think you're seeing an A-line, it's just the built-in petti layered on top of a proper cupcake.)

>> No.10569145

Not true. I have AP's Snow Glass Dome OP and it looks awful in an A-line petti. If anything it's worse for drape than cotton because it can't support itself at the hips. It needs a cupcake petti or it has a strange deflated effect.

I don't have her RHS but I have one vintage pair of VW collection leather pumps and several of the Melissa collaboration pumps and flats. I will say go for the kitten heel style (the one used in the 3-strap pumps for Melissa) over the 'Elevated' block-style heel for more comfort, as the slight kitten heel makes it much comfier to walk in, imo.

That said the vintage pair is in amazing condition for their age and all of my Melissa pairs have no construction-related wear visible after several years, aside from cosmetic scuffing. I can see them holding up for a long, long time, I can't speak for any reheeling/wear and tear issues for her wood sole shoes though.

There's some old-schoolers that are hyper-purists who'll sperg out unless you're wearing the exact pair of shoes from a 90s street snap that you salvaged from a Tokyo landfill. The fact is that there's a lot of toe-box shapes and shoe styles that were worn back then, and your coord doesn't have to be a perfect replica of a vintage fashion style anyway.

imo it's better to find shoes that are good quality and comfortable, that will fit the look YOU are aiming for. If you like the punky buckled look, get them. If you want mary janes, get those. Wearing what you like is what makes old-school authentic.

>> No.10570008

Not in my experience.

ime for most Japanese lolitas the clothing and the brand is the most important. Japanese people in general are more concerned with (mainstream) fashion, couture, branding, etc. and this includes those interested in alt fashions like lolita. It's pretty common to see Japanese lolitas who are just as interested in other fashion designers like Pink House or VW or even super mainstream ones like Prada. And it's also very common to see girls mixing couture+mainstream items with alt fashions like lolita.

You can see this in Japanese lolita brands, with how they tend to follow mainstream Japanese trends and most releases will be very wearable.

I think the mood+fantasy thing comes into play more for Chinese and maybe Korean lolitas. At least, that's my impression looking at their brands. There's less emphasis on wearable every day fashions, and more on themes and costume-like elements.

Skirt coords are very easy to change up so they look completely different just by changing your blouse color, and skirts are also the most easy to wear in a very casual way. People want to keep out creeps. Maybe also foreigners who have no experience with Japanese culture and don't speak the language.

Having seen some weird fat middle age man browse maid costumes in Don Quijote I can understand being careful. Also some "cute" costume store in Kabukichou. Obviously there are enough man who would love to creep in, you can see it even without searching for it. Even if most guys are normal human beings, real creeps in East-Asia tend to be next level. They make the sissies look tame as they stay in the regular social media posts and just give everyone bad rap, worst case post themself of are bothersome to talk to. Don't be too stuck on this anon, poly is a broad term. AtePies poly is nothing like the newer AP releases or AatP poly for example. It's much better quality and feels much nicer.

I guess it's partially due to black dye, partially because it allows them much more different textures and such than sticking to natural stuff (as a lot of fancy natural fabrics are much more expensive than even their higher end poly counterparts. Just like how high quality imitation silk poly wafu is still much cheaper than real silk, but hard to distinguish by just looking at it), as they rely on solid colours more often.

No. Those aren't floating ribs at your underbust so you could possibly break your ribs trying to do that. A corset often adds bulk of 1" so you would be needing to reduce something stupid like 2" around your ribcage to notice a difference.

Does anyone know how long it's going to take MissDanger to ship out these vests? I preordered but can barely seem to find any information about them online

here's a taobao shop that has some things similar. If nothing else, you could always commission someone from Etsy or Instagram to do one in your preferred style and color.
