Thanks man! The belt is actually held together on the front by the buckle, which creates the continuous effect instead of being attached on the back either by a velcro strap or with another kind of attachment. It's the most accurate one.

This is common behaviour on /cgl/. This place attracts some of the worst and most mentally unwell of cosplayers. They think any criticism is a personal attack on their mediocre cosplays. And oddly enough, I find a lot of gulls don't even go to cons. Cons are "toxic" because one person at that tiny con run out of someone's shed said that they should try sewing instead of hot gluing everything.

Respectfully, I'm assuming you paid a decent price for the costume. You can cut that price to a quarter if you made it yourself. It may seem intimidating at first but PR cosplays are not that hard to make. Look at cosplay guides on sewing, get some EVA Foam and Plastidip for the helmet. If you stick with it it will stop being so intimidating. You can even get patterns for everything that you just follow along. Eventually, invest in a cheap sub 200 resin 3D printer and you can make really nice looking props like this morpher and power coin I made.

Thanks, and you definitely may, that's good advice. The gold buttons are snap buttons with the silver parts made out of worbla. The back part of the button is behind the fabric so when it snaps everything holds together. I've had to strengthen some buttons on my legs though as there's definitely a risk of snagging on things. Ofc those are the kind of things you don't realize till after you've worn it to a busy con!

Naww thank you! Really proud of the makeup actually since it was my first time body painting. Thankfully I got some tips, especially for the brows. I'm just very self critical and always pushing myself to do better. I have a Szarkai (albino drow) planned next and I'll get a proper lacefront wig for that. It sounds like you already know which areas to focus on from the sound of your post, but here's a few things I noticed: Did you put foundation on your lips? If you were trying to go for the blotted lip, I think you need to bring your lips to a neutral shade first and then do the blotted look with a slightly richer/warmer/darker shade. Furthermore, I think you went a little too far with the white filter. It washes out the entire picture, especially your skin. Also, the white background and floor makes you blend in. I would recommend picking a spot with more contrast. You already mentioned that you need to cut your wig and I would definitely emphasize making that center strand shorter so it isn't going past your nose. Lastly, I think you could improve your eye makeup by putting mascara lightly on your bottom lashes and extending & thinning out your winged liner. As it is, your eyes look a little more down turned and short than they naturally are.

Kudos to you for accepting criticism. It can be difficult to hear about the things that need improvement when you're still in the beginning phases. For a beginner, I think you're making a great start and I'm sure you'll continue to improve. Best of luck.

The construction on this is great! Really the only thing that needs some work is the paint, some areas have paint brush streaks and are not smooth. I see a few areas that could be cleaned up a tad. Sorry for the super late reply, but the illusion of the legs was done by carving upholstery foam into the shape of a digitigrade leg; my best advice is to look into the techniques fursuiters use to pad the body. I actually was lucky enough to play through Alyx during the launch week thanks to a friend. I think the game has a lot of issues but I had such a positive experience that I really didn't mind them all that much.
