What to do when someone’s obsessed with you and makes very salty comments whenever you are mentioned on 4chins?
>I don’t know who they are
>I don’t know why are they so salty about me, their posts are pretty random

I have been ignoring them but it’s starting to get annoying so I’m contemplating to delete my social media (if I’m not posted here they can’t talk shit about me?)
I’m not sure if I’m missing anything.

Honestly, there's not much you can do other than ignoring them (which you should definitely keep doing) and, as you said, deleting your social media or restricting it to people you know and trust. Even that might not stop them, though, they'll probably just keep bringing up your old shit. Just keep in mind that this person is not well to be devoting this much of their life to hating you, and you almost certainly have a better life than them. And maybe get off /cgl/ if you really can't handle it.

It’s an obscure type of PayPal payment. I’m not sure on the specifics but when someone pays with an echeck it needs to “clear” through the bank like a regular check and this can take an obscene amount of time sometimes (idk why). So as a seller you can be holding on to an item for weeks waiting for the echeck to clear (and it might not clear and then you have to relist) or you might not realise it’s an echeck straight away and send the item, then have the echeck fail weeks later. It’s a fucked up method of payment and I don’t really understand the purpose of it but I worked for a company that also banned them for these reasons

I'm unsure if I should get 'Puff Sleeves Stand Collar White Blouse by XYLL' , 'Ballade Elastic Cuff Blouse by Tiny Garden' or 'Soft and Sweet Cotton Summer Lolita Blouse by ZHIJINYUAN' as a white long-sleeved blouse

For a short sleeved white blouse, I could use the short sleeved version of 'Soft and Sweet Cotton Summer Lolita Blouse by ZHIJINYUAN' or 'Sweet Short Sleeves Summer Lolita Shirt - Popcorn by ZhiJinYuan' though I'm a bit hesitant to get short-sleeved blouses since I live a place where it's a bit cold for most of the year (but I could pair them with a cardigan)

Don't buy from DevilInspired! They just resell Taobao items with a huge markup.

I'd say your options are:
> Get your blouse, hosiery, and shoes from Bodyline in one order.
Bodyline socks are not bad at all and will last you a long time. Blouses can be hit or miss, so if you find one you like, ask anons here what they think of it.

> Get your blouse, hosiery, and accessories from reputable brands via LaceMarket, WunderWelt, or ClosetChild.
It may take more time than purchasing all in one go from Bodyline, but you'll have a wider variety of things to choose from if you don't like Bodyline's offerings (and Bodyline doesn't offer much in the way of accessories, either.)

> Get your blouse, hosiery, and accessories from reputable brands via Japanese secondhand.
This may be more difficult to get into, as you have to use a forwarding / shopping service, but this will expand your options even moreso.

> Get your blouse, hosiery, and accessories from Taobao.
Taobao can be daunting to newcomers, but it's great combination of variety and affordability. However TB can be a landmine for new lolitas who don't know how to distinguish quality via stock photos, so it's best to ask for advice. We have a thread dedicated to Taobao shopping that has some really great guides for newcomers, so feel free to check it out.

I almost exclusively like OPs/skirts/JSKs with prints, and a sorta planned to get into lolita by buying some basics (shoes, hosiery) from bodyline and buy a second hand print JSK and blouse and maybe some headpieces and then amassing more second-hand JSKs/skirts/OPs and things (different colored tight, shoes, and accessories) to go with them over time, but I hear that a beginner should mainly get solid- color JSKs and skirts

To me, it's kind of straddling the edge between ita and passable.
The bodice looks alright, but the lace on the hem is a bit odd and pointy - but that's more of a matter of personal taste, I suppose.
The stripes with heart appliques are pretty cute imo and remind me of old school AP.
However, what really stands out to me is the fake waist tie bow on the back - they literally just sewed a bow on the back and called it a day instead of giving it legitimate waist ties. It also doesn't have any corset lacing, so without those or waist ties, you might find the fit to be off or frumpy since there's no way to adjust it.

Having said that, I made a few good friends from my local comm who I now see regularly despite not really going to meets much anymore. So if you're interested in making friends with similar interests, why not give it a try? It's also useful to be part of a comm for sales posts (a lot of people give their comms first dibs on things they're selling).

I just received a jsk from Alice Girl with the matching blouse, bonnet.. and they're all DREADFUL. I never really thought much about the whole brand vs. taobao debate because I've had excellent dresses from taobao but this.. ain't it sis.

Is it weird if I sell it straightaway just because I don't like it? I snipped off the tags because it was just hanging off the front bodice- but I just tried it on for one minute. Will that affect the secondhand sale price? I'd ideally like to sell it for the price I got it, or just a little short- but I can't find precious sales on lacemarket to really know for how much I should sell it for.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Just sell it for what you want, it’s not a big deal and you can or don’t have to state the reason for listing.

I mean, if I definitely wanted to buy a dress and the condition was perfect/nwot, the lack of tags wouldn't bother me. I think it would help to include a picture of the tag in the listing as that shows you're the first owner.
Out of interest what did you dislike about it?

>> No.10404362

>>10404353
First of all, the colour wasn't very accurate to the picture- the dress was a soft lavender in the pictures but a gaudier shade of purple in real life. Granted, purples are tricky.. But my biggest gripe was how yellow the blouse was, when it looked true white in the photos. Because of that, it looked like it's aged terribly despite its new condition.
The lace on the blouse was scratchy and uncomfortable, felt cheap too. The construction on the bonnet was pretty bad as well. It kept flopping around like it was just fabric wrapped around thin cardboard.

They're all very pretty but because they're kind of flimsy, I don't expect to wear them out.

And thank you for your reply, I'll make sure to keep the tag :)

Anon, I'll be honest. That thing is atrocious and not lolita at all. Save yourself the embarrassment and try to cancel the order or sell it if you do get it. It looks more like a western goth dress in the way it handles lace and front details. What is the brand? Materials look cheap, especially the lace. Bodice is structured weirdly and probably won't fit a blouse. The biggest offender is the obviously western goth silhouette and skirt. Bodice goes over the hips, so you won't be able to get a petti to look good. If you even get to fit a petticoat underneath that skirt. As you can see in the picture the person is holding the skirt, making it look bigger. It probably is too narrow and short for petticoats. It's not lolita in the slightest, no matter what blouse you wear with it, it won't be lolita.

Does anyone living in the US know why e-packet packages are getting through faster than EMS? (Yes, I am aware of all the postal suspensions - I am wondering why the e-packet packages that were already shipped are traveling faster than EMS packages that were also already shipped.)

I've had two e-packet packages now that have cleared Japanese customs and are in the US. Both of their ship dates were after my EMS packages, and they are even from the same store/area.

Is it because EMS packages go on different planes/different queues? Is Japan post favoring small packages over medium to large-sized ones? I'd be freaking out more if all my packages (e-packet vs EMS) were acting differently, but right now all my e-packets are beating EMS.

It really sucks because I don't care as much about my $50 order when I have something sitting for months that's hundreds of dollars.

Yes, that's how packing things into a space works. You fill it with large items and then shove all the small ones inbetween.

>>10406192
>I don't care as much about my $50 order when I have something sitting for months that's hundreds of dollars.
Japan doesn't care about your $50 orders either, so they toss them where they can, whereas your EMS packages are insured for hundreds of dollars and require extra care. Every time I ordered EMS pre-quarantine, it was sent Registered Mail, meaning someone has to sign off on it every step of the way, and I was required to sign for it to accept the package, and unlike regular Signature Confirmation mail they couldn't use my digital signature on file insinstead of an in-person interaction. Although now in quarantine they finally dropped an EMS package off without my signature (sent April 12, arrived June 1).

I don't know what country you live in, but EMS and e-packet are both registered mail and require a signature in the US. I've always had to sign for my packages and I've lived in multiple states.

My point was that my EMS packages are moving slower than e-packet, and e-packet is the "lesser" of the two because it's shipping cost is cheaper and delivery times are slower. So I am currently confused as to why my EMS packages from April 7th and 10th have not moved, while my e-packet stuff has already been delivered to me (again, same store, same location, shipped even later than the EMS stuff). I expected EMS to move at least a tiny bit faster than my e-packet packages, or at least keep pace with it, to respect the cost of shipping being at least 2x higher. It's days behind now and I'm thinking there's some special reason why EMS isn't moving.

Maybe I'm dense and just don't understand what conclusion you were drawing -- are you saying EMS should move slower because it requires more care along the way?

I'm probably just unlucky.

What is your lolita style? For most styles you'll be able to wear fitting tights or socks sold by normie stories, given you've selected them well and not just chose any design. For sweet, you'll probably want to get lolita specific socks, unless you're going for a simple coordinate that's fine with solid coloured legwear.
As a general rule, socks and tights that are (semi)sheer/low denier are usually a no go for lolita.

Solid lace topped socks are pretty versatile. You can get them from Meta, Baby, and Angelic Pretty if you're lucky. For sweet, you can't go wrong with pair of white, pink, and maybe black or sax depending on the colors in your wardrobe. Ivory and black can work for classic.

If you're gothic or classic, you can easily find black/white/ivory floral tights in a lot of stores. I got mine from Target. Depending on where you look you can sometimes find sheet polka dot ones that look cute in sweet. Solid tights can suffice if you coordinate them well. I've worn navy or burgundy color tights with classic before.

If I buy printed socks or tights, I try to go for more generic designs that would match more than one thing and make sure they are in common colors. For example, brown and ivory are often used in classic. Pic related is a good choice. The motif is simple enough that it won't clash with most things. I wouldn't buy a pair of tights with say, mushrooms or bunnies on them if they won't match more than 1 thing in my closet.
Another example for sweet. If I own a lot of strawberry prints, it would make sense to get strawberry tights. I could coord the prints and potentially solid pieces with them. However if I only owned one dress, it might not be the best purchase when instead a pair of solid pink socks would be just as good and more versatile.

I'd recommend steering clear of regular socks from normie stores until you're more experienced. They don't look good 9 out of 10 times, but you might find a hidden gem. They are usually too plain/frumpy. I get my legwear either secondhand for printed stuff or direct from brands or Taobao stores.

Your experience doesn't automatically make it the right one. Not all of mapofbeauty's wigs are terrible either, there's a little thing called reviews and research

I haven't had issues with the quality of dreamholic, my only complaint is that the colors are often not true to image, like when my friend and I order them the colors are off sometimes (straw blonde instead of regular, dark grey instead of silver, etc)

I've bought and owned various MapOfBeauty wigs and they are admittedly good quality for the $20 price tag. (I'd actually buy MapOfBeauty over DreamHolic.) But like all wigs with the same fiber type, they'll eventually tangle pretty badly. All I'm saying us DrwanHikic really isn't as special as everyone makes it it to be. So many people promote it, but it's all just pretty stock photos. The quality isn't there.

I've had similar issues with them both times I've ordered from them. The fibers were really shiny and it was poorly styled. Stock in the stores is quite small compared to online, but it will also depend on which store you're visiting. The friendliness of the shopgirls will also vary by store, but Japanese customer service is still leagues above what you'd get in North America regardless.
It's absolutely not cringy to wear lolita to a lolita store? The staff will be in full coordinates and so will most of the other shoppers. I wore a head-to-toe AP coord but don't expect the shopgirls to mention it; wearing head-to-toe AP isn't unusual in the Japanese lolita scene, and is just daily life for AP staff. (For us in the West it feels like a way bigger accomplishment due to it being more difficult to get pieces, but for Japanese they rarely have to online shop or secondhand hunt if they don't want to.) They may also avoid complimenting something you're wearing if they don't outright recognize it as AP, as they obviously don't want to accidentally compliment a competitor brand.
Aside from that, your experience is going to be very similar to any other Japanese shopping experience. The shopgirls will be very friendly and helpful but hesitant if it seems like you don't know much Japanese. They'll ask if you'd like to claim your order as tax-free. Then they'll package your order with care, thank you for shopping with them, and then lead you to the front door to see you off, bow and thank you.
If it's raining they may also have a protective cover for your bag; I know the shopgirl at Liz Lisa provided one for me. But that was the only day it rained in Tokyo while I was there, so I'm not sure if it's common across other stores.

can't speak on bonnets but please don't fully submerge a headbow unless you know for sure the band isn't metal or else it will rust through to the fabric almost instantly - most of APs headbows are (or at least used to be) so be careful anon

never go to aliexpress for anything besides small accessories, and even then I wouldn't risk it. bodyline's hosiery is passable, especially for the price.

like >>10411025 said, make sure there's no metal parts first. detach everything that's detachable, place in a delicates bag and either place in the washing machine as you would an OP, or hand wash it.

I wash headbows all the time and I've never had a rusting problem. Mostly AP cotton ones. I use a bra delicates bag so it doesn't get crushed, and a delicates cycle. After washing I remove them immediately for drying and reshape them.

Nayrt, but not if they’re really old and the metal has had years to oxidize. Water could easily catalyze the effect.

Personally, I spot clean my headbows. My head doesn’t really sweat, so they don’t stink or get dirty.

Does Bodyline's Cinderella bunny in green look blue? Would it be a bad idea to use sax colored accessories with this JSK?

absolutely. their pettis are great. go ahead and buy an a line while you're at it, you'll need one eventually so may as well buy two at once and save shipping.

It's probably just an error on their part. CC does a lot of weird stuff and messes up fairly often. I've seen pictures uploaded upside down, listing with pictures of two entirely different items, incorrect brand/item names etc. I just learn to laugh at it.

This time it looks like someone took those photos on a flip phone or just resized them super small before uploading.

I've been thinking about making my first coordinate and I'd like to get other people's opinions on this. I'm also going to buy a melikestea petti to go with this coord

My hair is currently black, but I don't think that'll work with sweet lolita, so I might dye my hair and eyebrows brown once quarantine is over

Idk if I should post this here or the taobao thread but does anyone know where to find lace topped otks on taobao/aliexpress that will fit a muscular calf? I know Meta's OTKs have a bit of give, but I can't really justify the shipping cost on one pair of socks atm.

Black hair is fine, some AP models in the past have black hair.

The headbow doesn't match, it's a different shade of sax (short for saxon blue) while the dress is leaning towards mint. That color will be a little tough to match, be safe and go with pink

Last year I started looking for this shirt, I kinda gave up on it. But I want to start looking for it again or honestly just cute secondhand Listen Flavor stuff in genereal.

I totally forgot where I can get stuff like this secondhand though. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Apologies for the unsolicited advice. Assuming your cups are the right volume, you are likely more in the ballpark of a 34K or 36J. Stores in the US tend not to carry anything over DD and a lot of bra fitters are badly trained. UK brands have many more bras in big cup sizes and are easy to find online. Go on amazon, brastop, or barenecessities, they have good return policies. Pay close attention to whether the seller uses US or UK sizing, they're the same up to a DD but different after that.

I'm gonna get shit for mentioning the red alien site here, but abrathatfits has a very accurate bra size calculator. You can even google abrathatfits calculator and just go straight to it without going to the red alien site. Never use the +4 method to measure, it's not accurate. 99.9% of bra manufacturers use the straight underbust measurement as the band size.

If you don't want to do any of that, then at least do yourself a favor, put your 42D on upside down and backwards so the cups hang down your back, taking the cups out of the equation. If that 42 band is still nice and snug like a supportive bra band should be, then feel free to come back here and call me a retarded faggot. But if it falls down your band is too big and you need a smaller band and a higher lettered cup size.

When all's said and done you'll still need to order custom size blouses, but they'll fit better and look better on you if you're wearing the right size bra.

What do I tell the hairdresser if I want a Japanese fringe cut like this? Specifically, I like how Japanese people have long pieces around the face but I'm not sure how to explain it. Longer than hime cut. They're not layers, they're just....face framing pieces? Should I just show the pictures or what?

My hairdresser has just been cutting my bangs and when I tried to explain it, he looked confused. I told him to just worry about the bangs but I'm not sure if it's not an American thing, or if I'm just explaining it poorly.
