I like how she improved on it and put effort in getting the right wig and matching accessories and shared her story with it, makes me want to give her ideas. If you're reading this: My concrit would be maybe experiment with more make up like obvious eyelashes (the lips stand out, so her eyes should balance, matching pink/rosy cheeks would be so cute!) and maybe more details in the hair (its a good choice of wig), like a small wavy braid running on either side with pearls/matching ribbons/Alice theme accessories. An Alice themed brooch? Ace of clubs rings to match the bag? them fake biscuit necklaces or something with a teacup/drink me potion. Theres so much possibilities with her current coord. I see many a potentials! :3 !

I too hope to achieve an Alice themed coord, but alas, Its hard for me cos baby blues look really weird on my warmish skin :(

Also I want to add, for a more elegant look with this non printed dress design, I think having more almond/pointed shoes with a small <5cm heel would really make it elegant, but you might want to change the bag to match the elegance of the shoes, something on a thin gold chain cross body or a top handle bag worn on the crook of the arm. (Shoes and bag matching are a must for me) The current round toed shoe and round bag match perfectly.

I'm not the girl in this photo but Ive been in this situation many times and sometimes this the only best photo..
I look at old holiday photos and I post zero on facebook, cos its just terrible.

Advice to anyone who is like this girl and whoever wants to improve your photos XD:

1/ Find photos of epic lolitas posing and copy the pose, notice that the hand and foot posing is everything!
2/ practice your poses in front of a mirror, then video yourself slowly and play it back.
3/ practice taking photos and note the height of the camera which is flattering (i find roughly chest height is good anything a bit lower you risk showin some extra chin)
4/ while viewing these photos find your best angle
5/ Educate your photographer!! I cant stress this to you enough, my partner with a few education sessions from myself and from an ex pro wedding photographer reaaaally helped, they ended up learning about framing, composition, background, lighting (very important), etc.
Make sure they know what pose you're looking for as well and what works well for you so they can tell you "oh your feet look funny, straighten it, or your fringe is spagetti, fluff it" etc
6/ take 100s shots if you have to.
7/ lift your chin, straighten your back, you got this! keep practicing
Once you find your perfect photo, use an app to make some colour/contrast/white balance adjustments... a whole new type of ball game. Otherwise just post the damn thing :)

Also dont let other peoples eye balling get to you when posing in public places, easier said than done I know, Ive travelled a lot to kind of 'take it as a norm' type thing when girls pose for 20 minutes getting a good shot. You spent money on that look, spent money going to that place, that photo op is yours for the taking!

I really appreciate when people try to experiment with this dress. I don't think it could get any better than the done before red cardigan and red striped socks, but experimentation keeps a print alive. That being said, I have to agree that this doesn't really work. The crown tights don't match anything thematically, and the colour balancing is not here. the tartan shoes, meant to match the bear, make some sense when she's holding it, but the bear is a prop, and the shoes are the only attempt at tartan matching. There's too many attempts to tie too many colours together. Stick to three colours. Let the others on the print speak for themselves. I think the beret works very well, though. I don't think this is terrible, and I like the idea of matching to the bear, but it needs work.
