however, just like every other alternative fashion, it is difficult to find things for men that are as good-quality or variable as what exists for women. you will have to put work into developing your own style.

almost every single thread, i have posted links to men who wear ouji and have recommended brands in the USA such as Ikemen Mode and Elegy, who often offer custom or large sizes for ouji.

i have also often asked for links to update the OP with, but there are not any.

you just have to do what i have done, and rigorously follow as many ouji-related tags on as many social media sites as you can.

here is Adi, also known as Grandpa Ouji in this gen. he wears Ikemen Mode and also custom items made from taking apart lolita dresses and sewing them into garments that fit him and his style. he does not sew them himself; his partner Sheri does. it is common for ouji to buy lolita brand items and remake them into waistcoats or breeches, though. because, if you are not the size of a slender Japanese person, you will have to DIY much.

unfortunately, menswear that will fit people who are larger than the average Japanese person tend to be the most Western, and men tend not to follow Japanese beauty trends even when they fit Japanese brands. @hare_joce (pic related) fits Boz very well, and he looks good. however, his overall style is Western.

the recurring difficulty with finding inspo for masculine ouji is that larger sizes tend to be off-brand and not made with Japanese-style aesthetics, and that finding examples of men who follow Japanese street fashion beauty trends is difficult. even Japanese men in ouji often lack the effort put into face and hair and accessorizing.

this has been an issue for this general as long as it has existed, desu.

children do not look like this, so you will be good. manlets pull off the style pretty well. if you want a more mature look, you can focus on construction elements such as longer pants (avoid balloon shorts, go for half-pants/breeches/long pants).

a good Roland-style jacket dignifies any coord. you can find them mostly in black, but different colors (blue, red, marbled) exist as well as variants in velvet for fancier coords. places like Fan+Friend make Roland dupes in a range of sizes, but quality varies. other brands (and even Boz themselves) make jackets similar to Roland frequently. it is an iconic ouji staple: lightweight and very flattering.

The trousers were meant to be closed long time ago, but i didn't find any buttons that match with the vest.

I really wanted a hat that matched everything, something like a "pirate" styled hat (forgot the name of the thing, but that description should do). That or a Panama Hat. But those aren't easy to find also. At least not for cheap.

If you're trying to find ouji appropriate things in person in men's sizes you're probably SOL. There's plenty of brands mentioned in this thread and the OP, you don't need to be spoonfed
Also you need far better tailoring if you want to look anything like your reference, that period had particularly well-fitted garments

It seems sound in concept and fluid throughout, everything matches pretty well, at least. With a better camera angle it would look more proportionate.

A shirt with a nice collar you can button all the way up + tie a jabot/cravat will add a lot.

High waisted pants/shorts will help length your lower body to combat the top-heavy nature of big jackets, hats and accessories. alternatively, some sort of sash high on the waist could lengthen the appearance of your legs.

in most ouji coords i see, it looks great if you cover up the lower half, but gets wonky at the bottom. pants are your friend. dividing your legs into segments with the horizontal lines from shorts + socks + shoes of alternating colors/materials will make them look very short, clashing with the typically long flowing vertical folds and accents of our coats.

in your historical example, i think he would look more cohesive with longer pants and a boot, but he's outdoors. those shorts were worn with not just with tights or socks, you'll notice the calf actually has a protective cover that slightly overlaps with the shoe, keeping mud off the lower leg and away from the lacing segment of the shoe. i forget what these are callwd, but you can buy some and put them over any oxford or riding boot to get a more old-timey fancy look. besides that, a riding boot would also look the part, or a heeled dress shoe. the LARP general thread would be a lot more helpful in naming specific garments and helping with locating or constructing your own, if you are more interested in the historical look than the japanese v-kei influence.
