I'm upset (I dont know about the assumingly 1-2 other anons) because literally the video after the next video on her story shes changed the look. IMO this is no different than when someone posts their foundation as a step in a step by step. Just cause it looks wild there doesnt mean it's bad makeup.

Trust me, I get why it seems like I'm uptight about this. I have the same issue when people say shit in the bad cosplay thread isnt "bad enough" but this person has been the face of bad makeup threads 3 times now. Has it been undeserved though? Truly, deeply, ask yourself that beyond all of the white knightery. It's great that she's working on toning down, but a vast, vast majority of her make up looks are like this regardless of character. It's not a good look. Totally agree. Plus, you've gotta think about what's going to look good with the actual costume you made, in-person. That cosplayer went ham on the details of her Godoka, it's gonna look pretty dumb if she's out there, decked out in that, with no-makeup makeup. An equally over-the-top, goddess inspired makeup look is gonna be much more cohesive, and help her stand out. Cosplay is all about being creative and expressive, I hate it when people on here jump on cosplayers for actually having fun with makeup.

Confirmed for lack of imagination if you think any of that make up looks exactly the same. You also either don't have eyes that work, don't understand nuance, or some combo of that.

Changing the eyeliner wing shape, placement of lashes, type of lash, placement of blush, color of tight lining, contour color and shape, ect do not result in "same exact"

Also artistic interpretation can change up the personality or aesthetic presented in a character. Maybe someone wants to show Sailor Moon's serious side so they go with piercing blue contacts. While another wants to play up her youth so they go with a rosier cheek even though she has neither of those things in the anime.

Sit down over there in the "only my interpretation is right" corner and play alone. You don't seem to have the capacity to understand people who don't think "same exact" as you aren't wrong because they did something differently from how you would do it.

Nyart but calm the fuck down and chill on your James Charles palette the next time you do your makeup. It’s a pretty common opinion that slapping massive amounts of makeup and glitter and lipstick on a fourteen year old is in bad taste. I’m all for open interpretation as well but sometimes staying within the aesthetic just elevates the quality of a cosplay. In the case of this Godoka it’s understandable to go a little over the top but I think the main concern is when people do this with schoolgirls and not-as-extra cosplays.
