It is, OP pic just didn't do a good job of it. Look up some drag beard cover tutorials, they use a combination of color correcting with a thick foundation on top. Usually a red or salmon color to cancel out the green/blue shadow a beard leaves.

>> No.10145903

>>10145864
Yes, color correcting concealer exists, and you can do multiple layers in the relevant areas if necessary if it still shows after foundation, concealer, and setting powder are applied.

ribbons i didnt put on yet. needs something to keep the collar stiff and up, maybe some cardboard or tie. The jackets kinda loose on me, but that better than too tight to wear. its a common complaint in the comments. i might have to get some kind of clamp/band to make it slimmer looking in the waist so it will look nicer. its still new, i would think washing it might help, but i dont wanna wreak it right before the con. its uniform cloth, so its a poly/cotton blend.
also just found the heels yesterday by chance at a thift shop, so good, i could not find a better heel that looks like that. might bring some regular shoes tho, they are kinda high and i can walk in them fine but i dunno about all day. theres room in the toe so i can pad them up abit so they feel more like platforms than heels.

no, i could have ordered with custom sizes but i wanted it quick so i could have time to try it on and fix things myself. im just going to get some elastic dress clips for it to slim the waist. might put the back ribbon on it because it just came with a bobby pin to tack on. i think i might do that for the inner jacket collar to stay upright too.

Speaking generally, what should I do about my hands/nails when crossplaying a character without gloves? I find that area to be the most difficult for me to feminize. I moisturize and shave my hands/wrists regularly when in long-sleeved cosplay, but I'm at a crossroads as to how to handle my nails. Do I cut them and keep them short or let them grow a little? And what about fake nails?

>> No.10151296

>>10150946
I typically find that false nails are the way to go if you like keeping things normal in boymode. Saves you any issues with breaking nails and all that, and if you wanna get crazy with it you can pick up tons of plain ones for pretty cheap and just paint em yourself. Nudes or French tips'd probably do the trick for most characters if they don't have a visible nail colour already.

Is it possible to cover stubble from a close head shave with makeup? I've tried a couple times and it doesn't look convincing at all... I'm female and I need to imitate a somewhat receding male hairline (I'm making the wig myself so I'm not concerned about the actual wig, more about hiding the gray-ish color of my shaved head). My head is already shaved so shaving it all the way down to skin isn't a big deal and I would really rather not do a partial bald cap because it's going to greatly increase how long it'll take for me to get ready.
PS: I'm building my lats and arm muscles in preparation for this costume to achieve a more male shape because I have very thin arms and would like to do more male characters in the future

I don't think he meant if the character was the one who is crossplaying.
If you cosplay as the character, even if she isn't wearing typically female clothing, it's crossplay.
The right wig, makeup and silhouette shaping goes a long way to making her recognizable as well, and then it certainly is.

>> No.10160788

>>10160761
my personal opinion is that you can wear what you want with any body type but if you're asking if you'd pass, you probably wouldn't, unless it's a really muscular female character. That being said, you're free to do it anyway, a lot of crossplayers don't pass, and it's just a hobby, you're not required to fit any kind of quality standard.

What's the best way to get rid of body hair? Epilator, waxing or something else I haven't heard of? I have a lot and I think it grows fast.

>> No.10160915

>>10160908
Depends on the hair. I prefer wax for most thing, but if you want fast and easy epilator is good. It hurts me a lot more. A lot of pulling and sometimes it doesn't grab it. It tends to make me bleed in places like my armpit.
Waxing is messy and takes some prep, but I find overall it does a better job.One big rip is better than a lot of small ones imo.
In the end it is personal preference.

You're the only one who can answer that. It's different for everyone. If you epilate you shouldn't let your hair get too long. Buzz it, wait a few days and if it's like half a centimeter then that's good. Prepare for it to hurt like a bitch though. Don't use it like a razor and do a big line in one go, you're supposed to do a small area and go back and forth. I'm a women who doesn't crossplay, I'm just here because I have a legit question. Are most men who crossplay straight, gay, or bi? I'm gay, and most men I know who are into stuff like drag are also gay. Because of that, I've been really surprised that most male crossplayers I meet at cons are straight. Like, these guys do exclusively crossplays and stuff and take it super seriously and try to appear sexy and pass, but are totally masculine and 100% straight out of cosplay. Is this just a way to be able to explore your feminine side? Or am I dumb and is it just the same type of enjoyment as non-crossplay cosplay is?

Some guys just wanna get in touch with their feminine side, some are gay, I'd say most are straight leaning towards bi but wouldn't actually go 3D. Crossplay is an art form a lot of guys do, at least from my experience, because they want to represent characters they like, regardless of sex.
Also plenty of it is because of fetishes. Transvestic fetishists are aplenty in the crossplay community, much as they don't want to admit it. Does that make them gay? Probably not. If they're straight otherwise, really it's just a turn on.

Definitely want to get some hip and chest padding at least there buddy.
You look like (can't say absolutely, as you're deliberately angling yourself for the camera) you're pretty thin already, so you're starting out better than a lot of us might, but being as flat as a board with no hips is doing you absolutely zero favors as there really isn't much way to obscure things in a zentai. I'd be curious to see how much of a improvement proper padding and possibly shapewear would do to improve your silhouette.

Hey /cgl/ first time posting here. I'[ve been very interested in crossplay for awhile but I'm a guy that is very muscular and feel like I would disappoint myself if I tried. I honestly dont care about passing or anything like that, I'd probably just do it alone in my house and want something that feels comfortable and not terribly unfitting. I know that's vague but what kind of cosplay should I try? I figure loose fitting stuff would be better since I have broad shoulders but I wanted the opinions of people who do more of this stuff.

Just for the record, I'm not going to go trap mode, I like how my body is right now, I just wish I could crossplay like this and still feel comfortable.

School uniforms are easy to wear, pretty cute and decent ones mostly not that expensive either. You could either look for a cosplay one or go for the fashion route aka nanchatte. Pic related.

Shape shouldn't be much of an issure since they're mostly pretty baggy or boxy. Only exception that comes to my mind could be a cosplay uniform that is designed to be waist-fitting.

I'm not really familiar with ftm crossplay, but with my own eyebrows I found that filling them in makes the overall appearance look more feminine, even though they are quite thick already.
I think the deciding factor is them looking "defined" or not: stray hair around the brows and bare skin showing through the brows (and more extremely, hairs sticking out at odd angles) makes them look masculine.
Having said all that, I only know how to achieve the feminine look, so I have no idea which tricks you could use.

i've looked at a lot of men's eyebrows and have come to the conclusions that in their natural state, men have more eyebrow hair than women, obviously, due to testosterone, but also that men's eyebrows tend to be flatter in shape and they tend to have more volume towards the outside of the brow vs the inside of the brow. i think i may resort to attaching individual hairs to my brow area because i just tried that and while it's time consuming it looks like the real thing

If you're serious and want to actually pass:

Eyebrows. Bruh, they deadass look like you took an entire eyeliner pencil and smashed it on. Or sharpie. Please learn to fill them in properly.

CONTOUR. Again, if you're trying to pass you need to LAY IT ON. You said you don't want it to "feel like a mask". But buddy, your face is masculine af. If you're trying to pass you're going to need that "mask".

Foundation:
Stop. White foundation on dark skin just makes you look ashy. Go with your correct color foundation. Hell go to a sephora/ulta away from your town and get color matched if it's scary to ask for help locally.

Eye makeup:
Falsies and eyeliner go a long way!!!

Lipstick:
Very few people look good with black lipstick. I don't, and you don't. Just go with a nude... Or if you're hellbent on black lipstick get a better quality one. Get one of those mattes that don't rub off because as it stands, your lipstick looks extremely uneven and it looks like it's melting off your mouth. Go.Matte.Please.

Ironic for you to throw around insults like this when you're desperately trying to pass like you have a cunt and failing miserably. Even dumber of you to say this sort of thing after posting your face.

Your eyebrows are trash, your lipstick looks splotchy, and your foundation is ashy (which is why it "looks like a mask"). It looks like you just rubbed foundation all over your skin like a sunscreen. Haven't you heard of Lisa Eldridge? Watch her foundation videos. I don't even know how you managed to fuck up basic things like eyebrows and lipstick when there are tutorials everywhere. Maybe if you actually took concrit well, then you wouldn't look this awful.

I'm not gonna cosplay Goku because it wouldn't look right. If some other 130 pound guy wants to do it, that's his choice, but to me, a person's body is as much a part of the costume as the hours they put in making it. So I cosplay what I have the body for.
On a side note, even though I'm straight, I really enjoy teasing guys. Whether it's a gay guy, a straight guy who thinks I'm a girl, or a "straight" guy who's into traps, making them blush or pop a boner is far more amusing than it should be. I feel kind of bad when I can't contain my laughter, but no one's gotten too upset.
So for my experience, no man dresses up as a girl without being some sort of deviant. It's never just a "cosplay is cosplay" kind of deal. Something has pushed us to break a boundary.

>would it be too weird to go into such a female dominated space???
Lolitas reacting negatively on men in the fashion are mostly either people with bad experiences or radfems/terfs I feel. And partially I can see where they're coming from, because there are a lot of guys joining comms, going to meet-ups and being total creeps.

Show that you're genuinely interested in the fashion, be open for critic and accept that no one should go out of their way to hold different standards on you because you're a guy.

The kind of people that are super against men in the fashion are a small minority though. The majority will judge you based on your behavior, especially as a guy in a group of mostly females, and how you dress yourself.
Good coords + good styling + decent character will make them atleast shut-up.

>btw i dont have a coord or anything yet, dont want to buy it and never wear anything
I highly doubt anyone who isn't already your friend would lend you their lolita stuff for dress up. So if you really want to wear the fashion, get over yourself and spend the money, obv only if your financial situation allows it since it's not really cheap relatively seen.

>but how tf would i find someone?
Go read some basic guides on the fashion to get an idea what you need to do and where you want to go. Getting in touch with your local community could also help, but personally I'd not attend a meet until the basics (including make-up and hair styling) are atleast alright.

Start lurking on here and get a feeling for coord building, which things are okay and what should be avoided.

>i dont think id be able to go to an event like that on my own, especially dressed in lolita

You slowly ease yourself into the fashion and work your way there. If it's your first time wearing it outside, going to a casual meet-up would be a better choice than goind to a formal tea party since you also need to get used to wearing these clothes over a longer period of time.

>do you think itd be a good idea to go to a meet non-lolita to meet people and socialise first? and then go dressed up for the second time?

I'd definetly say no unless they openly mention people in casual clothes (not casually styled!) are fine too. If you just casually go to a meet without a coord, it could be taken the wrong way and perceived as an attempt to hook up lolitas, and on top of that also possibly annoy the people that attend the meet. Even if it's not clearly written or said, organizers expect a certain dresscode for meets, mostly lolita and styles that are very close like otome, ouji or aristocrat. Some comms also allow j-fashion in general, but I feel they're not very common.

If in doubt, check the description for events (usually on facebook).

No, don't go to a meet unless you are serious about the fashion and actually wear it. That's all they'd care about. It doesn't matter if you are a guy, if you are serious about the fashion and at least have decent social skills then you are most likely welcome in the community you're trying to join. I've met plenty of brolitas. The only ones that are shunned are the creeps.

>i think i could be cute enough to pull it off but id probably need a friend to help with makeup and make sure im not ita and stuff but how tf would i find someone???

Do it yourself. Lolitas aren't looking for a manchild they can take in under their wing. If you want to join the community and wear lolita then prove that you have a genuine interest in it by doing the work yourself. We can always help you here by giving you coord help, concrit, and makeup help. But do the heavy lifting yourself. You can do it, just don't expect to be spoonfed.

You'll be fine. Just go straight to the meet. Socialize, and when you head home ask if anyone is heading in your direction and offer to go together in a group.

Or ask in the event you plan to go to if anyone is in your area so you can meet up and go there together.

The only thing we can do is give advice. Post what you're thinking of wearing and we can help coord, and post your face if you need help with makeup.

"oh boy" anon here.

It's really weird. All sorts of people want lolitas to be all sorts of things. Lolita-at-heart princesses want us to hold hands and sing kumbaya or some shit. Etsy moms want to sell us shitty shit. Crossboarders want us to be their gf. Sissies want us to dress them up and apparently laugh at their cocks? idk. Nobody knows what the incels want (other than to scream at us apparently?) Normies want our photos (and then maybe laugh at us or some shit). Meanwhile itas want us to ""accept"" their special snowflake shit and lie about how gross they really look. For some reason crossdressing dudes think we must be falling all over ourselves to donate our hard-earned free time to help them dress up or some shit.

Like uh, give us a break. How about not another person asking for yet another thing. At any given time it seems someone is always mad that we're not the fairy doormat princess of their dreams.

Sorry anon, I'm sure you mean well, maybe you do have other arrangements than relying on some random stranger's goodwill to stick by your side patiently while you sort out whatever personal shit you have going on. The statement is really short and gives off really bad vibes of being yet another person hoping they can make use girls as some sort of support animal, so I'll admit to having kneejerk reactions to it.

Good luck on your meet.

Do it the way cosplayers in Japan do. Pack a rolling suitcase with your things and find a toilet near your meetup venue to change into. That way you don't need to be travelling in lolita.

I get where you're coming from, and to be quite frank toilets are terrible places to put on makeup, the lighting is always abysmal. It's just you gotta take care of yourself and make some contingency plans if things fall through and nobody's available to help you out -- even leaving aside whether they want to or not, sometimes it's just bad luck that everybody needs to be somewhere else before/after the meet and can't walk you home.

Besides that, it's always a bad idea to plan to show up at a meet and then beg for some stranger to help you get home. Nothing really shows how bad your planning is and how much of a problem you are than openly showing that you're perfectly capable of getting to a meetup but then it's some strangers' responsibility to help you get home. Have a backup plan ready, then at the meetup you can sound out which girls are okay to hang out with you for a bit after the meetup or whatever, and if they all blow you off at least you can still get home in one piece.

fyi the last person that did this in my comm is a GIRL, not a guy. She dropped out after two meets, people started avoiding talking to her, because the first thing she talks about is how much she needs somebody to drive her home (I've no idea how she can get to meetups but can't seem to get home). It's not a guy-girl issue. It's annoying to deal with leeches that, if you talk to them for two seconds, they start asking you to do things for them.

>So what research do I need to do before deciding on a fake chest to buy?
Know what your own band size (torso circumference under chest) is.
Know what cup size you want to shoot for. (Do take into account that smaller bust sizes won't look good / right on a larger rib cage, don't be afraid to go a couple cup sizes or more larger than what you want to compensate) (Also it's better to also go by raw measurements rather than strictly cup size, ie how far off the chest does it stick out, how wide and tall each breast is, etc.)
Look for a fake chest with a size close to what you want, you're not going to have as much choice as with getting forms, the trade off being seamlessness for having a exposed chest and natural sag, something I have yet to see any stick-on forms allow for. (If anyone knows of any, please let me know.)
Look for fake chests that look more realistic rather than they were injected with silicone / borderline spheres slapped onto a chest, something more natural looking will look better when you try to treat them like real boobs.
As for where to get them, most of the manufacturers that I know of are in china, so aliexpress is where you're going to have the most luck with a decent range. Amazon / ebay and such will also get a limited selection of the exact same items, so if you don't want to deal with aliexpress, that's always an option.

You can ask if you're worried, and most sellers of crossdressing stuff are aware of this and make a point of having blank packaging, even having the customs label read something hyper generic.
Even at that, with anything, the average postman isn't going to give a fuck, they have enough packages they deal with on a daily basis to give any shits about what a particular item has in it. At worst they might think it's a present for a sister or girlfriend or something.

How do you tell if it's worth investing a bunch of time and money into this shit. All well and good spending a year learning makeup but if I come out the other end looking like a fucking idiot I'll rope myself.

>if it's worth investing a bunch of time and money into this shit
It's just like any other hobby, anon. Passion and commitment. If you feel you are in a good position to pull off what you have in mind, being it cosplay, j-fashion or just casual crossdressing, and don't mind spending money and time on it, then go for it.

Thank you so much. One other question I have is how can I ensure that one is close to my skin tone if it matches the other requirements you listed? I want to be able to show cleavage or underboob without it being glaringly obvious that the rest of my body doesn't match the color of my chest.

I guess so, I think my only worry is not knowing if I'd ever be happy with the results. Am I like a deaf person who wants to make music? There's only so far hard work can get you.

What do you suggest is best to purchase for binding?

I don't have a huge chest but I want to make it as flat as possible, is this possible with a sports bra of some kind?

I tried looking in the link collection in OPs post and there's literally nothing on this (could be broken for me I don't know)

The links are sorted in different tabs. But the link collection is outdated anyway in the sense of there's never been made a new doc since a new OP started making the threads.

Any tips for slimming down your legs? I wanna get into crossplaying characters without big puffy dresses/characters that wear leggings or thigh highs. My legs aren’t fat but they’re much too wide to fit into the feminine silhouette and I’m afraid doing more cardio would just make them wider

Don't quote me on this, but I think if you were to contact a seller about getting something from them, they'd be willing to send some swatches beforehand. Otherwise you just have to pick what's closest and just wing it. Plus, with these kinds of products, they're all largely hand made so colors will fluctuate a touch anyway.
As an addendum, I said
>Look for fake chests that look more realistic rather than they were injected with silicone / borderline spheres slapped onto a chest
At larger sizes with breast plates filled with silicone as opposed to cotton, the "natural droop" happen naturally by shear size and weight. If the photos seem a bit "spherical" that's only because the seller is deliberately forcing them to do that with how they pose them for photos. (For whatever reason is beyond me.)
Also, aliexpress for whatever retarded reason is forcing users to sign-in in order to browse. If there's a way around this I'd love to know, but figured I should give a heads up.

I understand that I can get it from a crafts store. In fact I saw them yesterday.

Making them from scratch is a bit of a personal objective. To show I can be a bit crafty(killme) with my hands.

Fair enough. From an artist POV just keep in mind the shape of a breast. Needs more of a slope imo, depending on what your going for. Otherwise stuff a bra could also work
