Not really, there’s more room for things that are nice outfits that wouldn’t be categorized as the style they were going for (cute but not lolita looks) but experimenting is still only considered a good thing if you actually pull it off well.

Lolita has more rules for what can be classified as lolita but the bottom line is still “do whatever you want as long as it looks good”.
