speaking of lolita-friendly cons, RuffleCon has been a decent EGL community trend predictor in the past; the BtB secrets after the first RuffleCon called both the dominance of OTT classic over sweet and the emergence of religious motifs as a major trend. there were 0 boystyle vendors or programming the first year, even though Aerynsys was there with that one sock company and Scorpionstar was there with her artwork. the following year, brands that had ouji/oujiable clothing sold out of it instantly. the most recent year, Ikemen Mode debuted, and other clothing brands were present that also had more ouji stuff for sale. that year, a lot of oujis showed up for the ouji panel, but it was cancelled due to the organizer not making it to the convention.

as an attendee of three years, i was thrilled to see a couple oujis the first year, but by the third year it was no longer a big deal because there were so many milling around. there were more oujis there than styles such as mori or vkei, and i saw more ouji coords than oldschool lolita coords, even though the rate oldschool threads fly by here on /cgl/ would suggest a wider interest in it.

pulled these from Ikemon Mode's Insta pics of RuffleCon. their gilets and breeches were basic but well-constructed and available in a wide range of sizes. (if they ever update their shop, bigger boystylers will have good reason to rejoice; they have staples that would fit a European-sized male.) their booth was often busy and they seemed to do well.
