Social media has made the western jfashion obsession with thinness way worse. Back in the day there were plenty of average sized girls who managed to get well known and were loved for their coordinates. Now thanks to the intersection of tumblr proanas and the ddlg community, most popular jfashion girls on insta are super skinny waifs. Anzujammu would've never gotten popular if she never had super stick legs and a thigh gap. Every post yurinaoto has is basically just thinspo.

It also feels like lolita models have gotten thinner. Misako is thin but she isn't as thin as Risa, who is borderline spoppy with APs stuff extremely baggy on her.
